at levi's stadium, the phones rang off the hook at our hotels. >> hotels across the area have been sold out for weeks. the elton show last year, the eras tour this weekend and the upcoming beyonce concert are huge for the city. >> we are bringing a lot of people, but it is also that added exposure that as part of the event is an ancillary kind of option. they are exploring the city. >> taylor swift concertgoers are spending more than $1000 per event in tickets, food, hotels, and other purchases for the show. the city found the tour will have generated an estimated $5 billion in national economic impact for hotels and restaurants. >> some of these hotels are really struggling and otherwise might go out of business. that helps with the property tax base in terms of taxes on the rooms. it will help the city increased

apartment complex in san mateo. >> due to the nature of the video, we dispatched a bunch of police officers over to that address. >> police went door-to-door in search for three hours and eventually found a woman dead inside an apartment. two hours later, they arrested a suspect for murder. police say they tracked and found the suspect because of his cell phone. they ended up arresting him in his car in san jose. san mateo police say the suspect knew the 41-year-old victim but will not give other details. they say they don't have a motive for the stabbing. >> it is tragic, light, all of those things. it is tough enough when we lose someone in our community, and then to force someone to post a facebook video is just hideous and horrible. >> that's disturbing. >> we heard from several neighbors. this woman lives directly across

from the woman who was killed. >> i heard a scream the night before. >> it is a lot to know that you live here where somebody got murdered. it is not easy being the neighbor. not right across, but 20 feet away. >> investigators are looking for more information about the case and want people to come forward if they can help. larry: police investigating two shootings in oakland place, one happening on the corner of international boulevard and 7th ave. just before 5:15 this morning, officers say they found somebody lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. that person died at the scene. no word yet on any possible suspects. police are also investigating the shooting of a pregnant woman in oakland. they say she was hit in the chest and then taken to a local hospital. the victim and her unborn baby listed as stable according to police. they say officers were patrolling the area of 23rd and international last night when

somebody flagged them down and said somebody had been shot. police are asking anybody with information to please give them a call. kristen: two men and a teenager have been arrested for a series of armed carjackings in oakland. police say they were involved in this attempted carjacking captured on video yesterday morning. the driver was on skyline boulevard when a car stopped and blocked her. you saw two people running towards her vehicle and they began banging on the window. the woman drove off, managing to get around the stock-car. police say the suspects are responsible for armed carjackings in other areas including tompkins avenue, piedmont avenue, and sequoia heights in crestmont. during our 11:00 a.m. midday show, we caught up with the mayor of oakland to talk about issues impacting the city, including this recent attempted carjacking in the video you just saw. >> it is outrageous. it is disgusting. it is not appropriate, and it

has to come to a stop. i know the oakland police department and city of oakland -- we are united in working to solve and prevent these crimes. right now, there are active investigations on this specific case, so i cannot comment much on specifics, but i can say our officers are hard at work working to solve these crimes and to hold those responsible accountable. we have also mobilized motorcycle units to really get all hands on deck. we have the most officers we have had on the streets for the last three years. we are going to see some of the response times actually be lowered. i just want to remind folks, too, that this is absolutely outrageous in the sense that i have been victim -- my family has been. i remember when burglars broke through -- broke into my home.

matter of fact. bound tomorrow morning. they will burn back to the coast line by about mid morning. overnight low temperatures will be comfortably cool, mainly in the mid 50's and a little bit cooler in the north bay where we will see some upper 40's low 50's. how is tomorrow, 60 at half moon bay, 65 in san francisco. we will see low to mid 70's when the bay shoreline. one or two locations may hit 90. of course -- we are forecasting 89 in antioch, but of course, 90 is only 1° away. the air quality the next few days is going to be very nice. good air quality through the weekend, so that breeze flowing onshore right now is helpful. a warming trend begins tomorrow and picks up in speed over the weekend. we will see highs in the low 90's on saturday, mid 90's by sunday, and it will be mild at

kristen: it is time now for consumer news. michael: i got economy is on a run. it is amazing. new numbers released by the commerce department today show gdp grew 2.4% in the second quarter. the good news is being attributed to increased government spending and business investment. consumer spending also did well, though there was a poor showing on spending on big-ticket items. for the job market, nearly 210,000 jobs were added in june. all this gives credence to those who believe we will see a soft landing rather than a hard recession when spending does slow down. bathrooms will be getting bigger on airliners. yay! the department of transportation has come out with new rules for airlines providing accessible bathrooms.
