reporter: that's right. i only got one bracelet but you can hear the concert is still going on behind me. 11:00 is the curfew but i doubt anybody will ask mayor swift to cut the concert short anytime soon. this is arguably the biggest event happening in the bay area this year. after months of waiting, tonight it all comes to an end. it was glitter and for and a lot of pink as tens of thousands of swifties made their way to levi's stadium. >> i've always wanted to come to one of her shows so it's a really big dream come true. >> she is like a big part of my life. i've been listening to her since i was little. she's an amazing role model to me. ♪ reporter: saturday night, taylor swift brought in another sellout crowd for her second bay area show. she took to the stage.

she believes crime in oakland is reaching a boiling point. >> i was going to have a night out this week coming up and i canceled it because in the area where i am, there was a shooting. there was a murder and there was a drive-by. reporter: one person was wounded in a shooting. the opd says they are looking for suspects. >> violence is growing in our communities. we have to work to ensure that the proper resources are available. >> you don't know what the pain and what we've been through. reporter: emotions running high at a public safety meeting on thursday in oakland. the issue on everyone's mind, rising crime. just t letter asking for a state of emergency. the state chapter released this letter saying they are doubling down on that call because community members are in danger. >> we need a state of emergency. reporter: since january 1, violent crime is up 15% over the

same time last year. property crime has increased 28% . homicides in 2023 are down. 13% compared to 2022. burglaries are up 41% and vehicle theft has increased 50%. critics raise concern about over policing but currently the department is understaffed. community advocates say solutions are not easy but creating a safer city must begin from the ground up. >> a lot of the issue start from home. if the families would get together and talk more, i think it would curb the violence. reporter: cornell barnard, abc7news. dion: neighbors in oakland are getting the chance to give their input on the next police chief. the city's police commission will be holding a series of community forms next month. the first two are next saturday. one starts at 10:30, the secon at 3:00 at the caesar chavez

dion: a shocking day at the beach. the pilot of a small aircraft walked away unharmed after the emergency water landing in new hampshire. video shows the plane trying to land on the waters of hampton beach with beachgoers insight. >> a plane is going down. it crashed. we all stood up. there's the plane upside down floating in the water. >> all of a sudden, the guy swam out. thank god he's alive. dion: unbelievable. the pilot was reportedly the only person on board and was rescued by lifeguards who also pulled the plane out of the water and onto the beach. police say the pilot blames the crash on engine problems. moving to daly city where firefighters had to rescue a hang glider from a cliff after he'd crashed into the ocean. the fire chief says the man was able to remove his perishable equipment -- parachute equipment and make it to shore.

fire crews were able to get a helicopter to hoist him out an hour after getting the call. it happened at muscle rock off of west line drive. the man was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. happening now, we are following a new fire burning next of 580 on the ultima past. here's the map. you can see where it broke out next to north lynn road. calfire says it has jumped to 79 acres at last check but crews have reached 20% containment. we will keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated with the latest. in the east bay, firefighters were quick to a 10 acre fire in the open space outside of martinez. while there was damage, rick campbell reminds us of just how close this one came from becoming much worse. reporter: an air drop over the martinez hills in a multi agency

attack on a 10 acre grass fire threatening nearby homes. >> we are lucky to be out of the fire literally. we made it. reporter: wendy's white jeep doused in retardant as she escaped with her daughter and dogs. >> it was tough. the fire was around the house literally. 400 feet. by the time i took off the dogs and everything, i couldn't see anything there yet >> it is very difficult terrain. this is a rural area in the martinez hills. reporter: battalion chief with contra costa county fire. he says accessing water is another challenge, calling calfire's reference key. >> the air attack was here as well because it's a considered a state response ability area. we were able to save all the homes up here. reporter: as for what started the fire, likely this lawnmower. >> yes. that's our preliminary investigation right now but that seems to be where the fire
