unlike yesterday, we have fog stuck in the east bay. alameda, oakland. it is cloudy. we get sunshine across the city. it will not be us thick in san francisco. more sunshine today, and there will be a warming trend underway. we expect the warmest cities to get close to 90 degrees. that is close to average. receipt the bay shoreline to more cities in the 70's. 72 is sunshine. 79 in san jose, 66 in the cit 86 in santa rosa. 90 is the warm spot in antioch. that is weather. let's get traffic. >> we are starting with a fascial -- fatal accident. lots of fog on the cone gate bridge. when advisory as well. you can see the roadwork is just trying to pick up on the golden gate bridge. it is very thick down on the spam. listen -- limited visibility in the past. as we move on the fatal accident , it is in south san francisco.

on 280 southbound. it is not blocking the lane, but a corner has been called to the scene, and chp is on scene again. south to 80 at westborough. not blocking any liens. but, it is out there. it will be there for a while. >> thank you. it has been more than 36 hours since dangerous potential explosive material in a backyard shed forced evacuations in the east bay neighborhoods. last night, most evacuations were lifted. today, five homes near highway in san pablo are still evacuated. crews are working to remove those chemicals. investigators say they have a number of containers to go through in the morning bread abc 7 news reporter's live in san pablo. >> hello. >> the morning to you. fire officials have removed 90% of those

chemicals right behind me. but there are still for other surrounding homes in the area under evacuation. that is at this hour, this morning. we want, and some families could see this arriving home immediately after the order was lifted after being away for just under 24 hours. during that time, fire officials say they made great progress. we are told investigators processed more than 600 chemicals and 800 files or chemicals from explosives to regular chemicals to acid and more. all were found packed in an outdoor storage shed. officials cautioned, saying they still have work to do in the morning bread we will focus on finishing the cleanup today. >> will not be any less dangerous. they are also pretty dangerous. >> i want to go home. i have dogs, kids.

the golden gate bridge library. the police commission will select four candidates for the job. they will send a list to the mayor who will make the final decision. it is been over three months since governor gavin newsom announced the state will step in to get drug dealers off the street of san francisco's tenderloin. people who live there still feel unsafe. the st. anthony foundation held eight town hall. brooke jenkins and police chief phil scott was yesterday. the service provider called the meeting because of race and violence in the neighborhood. one local business owner expressed frustration but believes the city can turn around. >> we have seniors that can't or won't come outside. we have children who can't play outside anymore. we won our neighborhood back. >> jenkins acknowledge that residents had concerns. she believes the courts are big part of the problem saying that it allows repeat offenders back on the streets. >> it is taken for open cases.

vehicle dwellings like arby's 150 feet away from schools. >> authorities are looking at a brush fire which was dangerously close to the hills above san jose. it started in the area of clayton road after it crawled up to the foothills in unincorporated santa clara county. abc 7 spoke with the man who called in the fire and grab a garden hose to protect his property. >> fortunately, this had a fire rate, and they prevented the fire from getting very close to my house. >> fire officials say there were some evacuations relate to the fire, but no structures were damaged and no one was hurt. >> i know there is a great interest in wanting a trial to take place before the election. i think time will tell whether or not that is realistic or not. >> that is abc 7 news political, dennis -- analysts jackie.

that's right. we are told investigators were back out here between 8:00 and 9:00. they are finishing up the methodical task of sorting through these explosive chemicals and removing them from the backyard shed in one of these homes right behind you. but, this comes as for surrounding homes are under mandatory evacuation for two nights in a row. the police captain tells us they were able to remove 90% of the explosives from the property yesterday. investigators believe that may have been there for years. that's how the officials were finally able to drop evacuations for most neighbors after being away for just under 20 for ours. one neighbor is still evacuated. they say the man who lived in this home and recently died was very nice. they even told him when he was a life that he was a retired professor who specialized in chemistry, but had some quirks. >> this was kind of a order.
