>> building a better bay area, moving forwarders finding solutions. this is abc7 news. >> thank you for joining us, i'm j.r. stone. four people have been taken to hospitals after a water rescue in alameda. it's still unclear what went wrong. but fire officials say all four victims were together in one water craft which sank during the rescue. one person suffered car yak arrest. that victim's condition is not known right now. the three others were take on the a hospital for observation. but they're expected to be ok. none of the victims have been identified. hundreds of marchers from across the bay area are braving the warm weather and long distance this is weekend all in the name of immigration reform. undocumented residents and tir allies are taking part in two marches logging a combined 90

miles over three days. one walk is from petaluma to san francisco. the other from san jose up to the peninsula. colonel bernard tells us advocates are demanding congressional action on a pathway to permanent residencies for millions of migrants. [speaking in spanish] >> this group of advocates from san jose are heading down the peninsula on foot. not easy in the hot summer sun. >> we're going through a lot. but it's not even compare to what all my brothers and sisters go through every single day without a green card and a social security. >> undocumented immigrants taking part to demand congressional action to a pathway to permanent residency stuck in legal limbo nationwide. >> all of our government taxes and community, but they can't -- can't use those benefits. it's very unjust.

uncomfortably warm. as we look ahead tomorrow, temperatures ease up just a little bit. but the big cooldown comes on tuesday. and that's going to start a trend that will carry us through most of the week. i'll give you a look at that and the accuweather seven-day forecast, j.r. j.r.: spencer, thank you so much. we've seal some wild morning after scenes as a result of dangerous side shows across the bay area. but this one's unusual. a car fished out of the water at the antioch marina this. was the scene early this morning. it's the result of a side show and smith landing parking lot late saturday night. the car was submerged and had to be towed out of the wear. you see all the water shooting up in the air right there. a third driver from that side show crashed near 10th and g streets in all three people were injure and take on the the hospital. unions representing more than

4,000 san jose city employees expected to announce the results of a possible strike vote tomorrow. earlier this week, they conducted an inperson strike vote across san jose that could lead to a three-day work stoppage. the union is seek larger pay raises for city workers. the city is offering a 5% raise in 2024. 4% in 2025. and 3% in 2026. but the unions says that's not enough. a conference is set to take place tomorrow morning at 8:30 outside of city hall. tomorrow marks the first di of the school year at oakland unified schools. all last week, students an teachers were gearing up for the new start. about 1600 students and parents took part in registration week events at oakland high school. 34,000 students will return to campuses across oakland. nearby school districts like

>> there it goes. there it goes. j.r.: devastating. an entire home collapsing into a river in juneau, alaska. officials issued an emergency declaration after an outburst flood caused damage throughout the city. the flooding is from a break on suicide basin after the damn containing the clay sure lake broke. the national weather service confirm that two homes were lost and another partially damaged and washed away. several other structures were also destroyed. just incredible images as we're joined by spencer christian. we dope have those images here. but pretty spectacular coming across the bay bridge.

spencer: we're hoping to exert a cooling influence. so far it hasn't. it's a thin fog. as you know, it's been a hot day. don't expect much cooling for a while. here's look at our service wind speeds. it's gusty at s.f.o. 30 miles per hour. and we have 20 mile-per-hour surface winds in san francisco. although, this is an on-shore flow, it's not provide ago cooling effect. locations near the coast aren't hot but still quite warm. as a matter of fact as you look at the 24-hour temperature change. you can see that despite that on-shore breeze it's three degrees warmer than at this time yesterday. four degrees warmer than at half moon bay. inland areas are all warmer than yet. here's a look looking over san francisco under blue skies with just a thin, marine layer. 71 degrees in the city 73 in oakland. we've got mountain view checking

in at 75. 80 in palo alto. 63 at half moon bay. nothing but blue sky over the bay as week we look westward. 99 in santa rosa and nevada. 102 in fairfield which was just 105 a few minutes ago. concord 101. livermore 98 degrees and the view from mown tell and parts of san francisco unobstructed by any marine layer because what little patches we have at the cost are very, very thin. these are our forecast headlines. mild to warm conditions overnight with thin coastal clouds. heat lingers tomorrow but no triple digit temperature readings. and we can expect a sharp cooldown on tuesday. it will be mild thin for the remainder of the week. for tonight, we present this animation showing some drizzle offshore but it looks like the clouds won't move much beyond the coast. so again, no cooling influence, no significant cooling influence

from the coastal clouds. overnight lows will be in the low to mid 60's. low of 72 in antioch which is a very warm overnight low. tomorrow look for highs in the upper inland areas. not a lot of change. but on tuesday we have a sharp cooldown with inland highs reaching only into the upper 707's to low 80's. so that's quite a change. then on wednesday, we'll see even further cooling or actually similar range going into the latter part of the week. so here's the accuweather seven-day forecast from tuesday through thursday, actually into friday, we can expect a much more comfortable range of temperatures, mid to upper 80's inland. low 70's around the bayshore linebacker. at the end of the week, it starts to warm-up. but no more triple digit first a while. this heat will recede but we need to be patient for one more day. j.r.: right as kids go back to school. spencer: perfect timing.
