two deadly shootings within minutes of each other. a suspect has been taken into custody for the death of a man near the bart station. it happened on the street at eight and oh around 2:30 this afternoon. bart service was briefly interrupted during the investigation. >> the other deadly shooting happened not far from oakland international airport, also around 2:30 this afternoon new the boat launch at mo k regional park. one person was shot and did not survive. no word on an arrest and no information is being released about the victim. ama: is not just these deadly attacks, oakland's crime wave seems to be accelerating in the last week. dan: we are talking about what appears to be an organized effort to steal from convenience stores and liquor stores with multiple suspects and multiple targets. ama: leslie brinkley found some

longtime business owners saying this is the worst they have ever seen. >> this is survei shared by the owner of this liquor store. he said last week carloads of young men stormed into his store at 5:00 a.m. wearing black hoodies. he said six state outside, six came inside with garbage bags and methodically stole other cigarettes and high end tequila, cognac, and champagne, ransacking the place. not far away, this liquor store on redwood road had a similar invasion. several people in the store stealing cash and cigarettes, and only the expensive alcohol. last week, a car rammed into the front window and door of this convenience store on 23rd avenue, again with six people and three vehicles involved. at 4:00 a.m. yesterday, a similar highest caught on surveillance video at a 7-eleven in downtown oakland, with more than a dozen suspects in hoodies arriving in multiple vehicles.

lot of trains were delayed. a suspected shoplifter and a security guard are both out of the hospital tonight after being injured at us and carlos home depot. the incident happened around closing last night when store employees tried to stop the suspect. authority say when the store security guard intervened, he grabbed the man's baton and began hitting him on the head. the guard responded, pulling out his gun, firing two shots and hitting the suspect. >> the victim was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. >> mackey is now being held in the san mateo county gel. he faces felony charges including robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. dan: vallejo police are hosting a community discussion. the department wants to talk about alarm calls and the plan to stop sending officers unless the alarm can be verified. it's because of a staffing shortage and because most alarms

dan: heading back to school this year poses some new challenges for some teachers, students using ai in class. we learned about concerns for this technology and why some believe it could actually become a valuable learning tool. >> as kids return to school, teachers may be the ones trying to learn the most, learn how to deal with students using artificial intelligence, ai. >> a high school student could use it to write and english paper and ask it math problems. >> she by students and will make it harder for students to develop critical thinking. >> it does require deep learning and thought to come up with critical analysis and how to do these things. quick certainly there's a way to sniff out when students are using ai.
