quieted down. we are left with muggy conditions, cloudy skies, that sun coming up at 631, all in the 60s. so still humid out there. not as muggy as yesterday, but still it lingers throughout the day. there's a look at our roof camera 70s by noontime. for most of us around the bay and inland upper 80s for our warmest locations. jobina. >> thank you, lisa. good morning, everybody at the bay bridge is our problem spot at the moment. we're following a crash right now on westbound 80 right past treasure island. your speeds as you approach the tunnel will be around 16mph. we do have a live picture here from our caltrans camera in the area and it looks much better than it did even i'd say ten minutes ago. the tunnel is very slow, though, as you move through that area. we also have metering lights on at the toll plaza. they flipped on at 538. so expect delays in this spot. >> thanks, jobina. this morning, president biden is back in lake tahoe after he has been where his vacationing after touring the devastation in maui yesterday, the president walked through lahaina after viewing the burned areas by helicopter.

he also spent more than an hour speaking with survivors and first responders during a community meeting. so far, 114 people have been confirmed dead and more than 800 people are not accounted for. the president has promised more federal aid and says the rebuilding will be focused on local culture countries. >> grieves with you, stands with you, and will do everything possible to help you recover, rebuild and respect culture and traditions. when the rebuilding takes place. >> fema says nearly 6000 survivors have already registered for federal assistance. the maui fire is the deadliest in the us in the last 100 years. more bay area assistance is heading to maui this morning. >> members of the san francisco fire department will be traveling there to help the community in need. they're going to be leaving from oakland international airport today. and that's where we find abc's seven news reporter gloria rodriguez. gloria >> good morning, reggie. those firefighters will be leaving from oakland international

airport where i am at 830 this morning. they will be volunteering their time in maui. and i've been in touch with them and we're hoping to catch up with them before they leave. this morning. members of the san francisco fire department will be traveling to maui to help the community after the devastating wildfires. the team of 11 firefighters will be assisting at a community distribution site at the lahaina gateway center. it is one of the only structures in town left standing after the fires, literally right after the tragedy. >> i got a call. i was very moved by that. the fact that people all from all over the world, from all over anywhere, would come together and help our community. >> well, there is working in the food bank, kitchens, shelter professionally. we are first responders. so if they need us for anything besides what we're volunteering to do, we're willing to do it. >> that is asian firefighters association president stanley

august the 9th. it burned for nearly 24 hours, sending hazardous smoke across many parts of the east bay. no cause for this has been given. alameda county prosecutor voters are now asking the public to come forward with information they may have about the fire. new information has emerged in an outbreak of legionnaires disease at a spa in richmond contra. costa county health now says at least four cases of the disease have been linked to zen day spa . two people died, two others recovered last results revealed a high level of legionella bacteria in samples, including from an unpermitted hot tub at that business. health officials say the spa didn't have the required disinfectant materials to operate a public hot tub. >> this particular business did not notify us that they were going to be operating a hot tub or a spa and so we therefore did not go through the plan reviewing process, which is the beginning stages of issuing them a health permit. >> contra costa health says the

district attorney's office will decide whether to move forward with criminal charges on the peninsula. a community meeting hosted by the city of millbrae was met with hundreds of people . listen to this. can see county executive mike kalicki in the video trying to speak to the crowd, but instead he is drowned out by you can hear it, the sound of people booing, yelling. officials were there to talk about details surrounding san mateo county's affordable housing plan. according to middlebury's website, the county was supposedly to convert a la quinta hotel into, quote, permanent supportive housing. >> a warning if you live in the peninsula, san mateo police say a bobcat has been spotted in the same area where a mountain lion was seen just a couple of days ago. the bobcat was seen in a backyard just south of abbott middle school sunday night. and here's a picture from last friday, a photo of a mountain

to morgan hill, northbound 101 at san martin, we're looking at a crash right now still in that area where your speeds have dropped to 21mph. and then traffic is moving on the san mateo bridge. >> jobina. thank you. happening today, a vigil will be held for the four year old girl hit and killed by a car at the intersection of fourth and king streets in san francisco last week. that's not far from oracle park. it's right across the street from the caltrain station. neighbors plan to attend today's vigil to call for immediate changes to that intersection. they say it's a spot with a dangerous past. abc7 news reporter amanda de castella tracking that from the newsroom this morning. amanda, the city is promising changes but we don't know exactly when it will happen. >> reggie and part of this evening's demonstration includes demands like redesigning all similar intersections near freeway entrances deemed dangerous by the group walk san francisco and publishing a plan within 60 days, explaining how the sfmta will follow through in its commitment to fix hundreds of designated high injury

million for bay area public transit without any additional funding. sfmta expects service cuts to begin near the end of next year. bart expects cuts sometime in 2025. >> we're learning more about a big change for driverless car company cruise. we told you yesterday cruise has pulled 50% of their fleet from the streets of san francisco at the request of the dmv. this is following safety concerns, as cruise now says, 150 cars will drive at night and 50 will be on the street during the day. the company says it will work with the dmv to make improvements to its fleet. meanwhile, cities like atlanta are joining the list of robotaxi test places. the company started test driving cars there earlier this month. they gave us the impression that they were going to do the rollout pretty steadily and slowly and not all at once. >> so i wouldn't expect to see a big wave of them. the dmv says the 50% reduction in san francisco will remain until an investigation into, quote,

so definitely stay tuned to us throughout the morning. members from the san francisco fire department will be traveling to maui to help the community after the devastating wildfires fires the team of 11 firefighters will be assisting at a community distribution site at the lahaina gateway center, distributing goods to the community and working with the fire department. there it is one of the only structures in town left standing after the fire. the asian firefighters association president stanley lee spearheaded the campaign and recruited members of the rfa to help with relief efforts on the ground in maui. >> there's actually 11 of us, nine active duty firefighter, one retired and one first responder. we're willing to do whatever the people of lahaina, maui need us to do when we're there, you know, because we just couldn't sit back and not do anything. we just we just couldn't do that. we just needed to help. >> osaki creative group in honolulu helped organize the
