that mar a lago worker flip out, retracting his previous statement to the grand jury. the it staffer initially testified that he was unaware for of any effort to erase surveillance video at the club, but he apparently changed his story after receiving a target letter from prosecutors. the indictment claims trump, his aide, walt nauta and property manager carlos de oliveira, attempted a cover up as the government investigated trump's handling of classified documents. it's trump nodded at andy oliveira have all pleaded not guilty. meanwhile, in a separate case, sources say rudy giuliani is expected to surrender today at the fulton county jail in georgia. giuliani trump and 17 others are charged in connection with trying to overturn the 2020 election in that state. last night, authorities released mug shots of the co-defendants who've already surrendered, including lawyer john eastman. as for trump, he says he's surrendering. tomorrow, the

former president expected to go directly to the fulton county jail to have his height, weight and other vitals taken. deputies will also fingerprint trump and take his mug shot as well. andrew back to you. >> justin, thank you. >> well, we're learning new details about the grim recovery effort after the deadly wildfire in maui. officials say only about 100 families have sent in dna samples and they're pleading with people who have missing relatives to submit those samples so authorities can identify more remains pulled from the rubble. more than a thousand people still unaccounted for. experts do not expect all victims to be identified, based on the devastation of the fires. >> it's very difficult to do both emotionally and physically. and we have, in fact, one expert here that is one of the world's experts on behalf of the fbi laboratory in pulling fingerprints in difficult to pull situations. so he's been integral to the success here of us being able to identify victims. >> and crews are now shifting their search to apartment

buildings, which pose more safety concerns. the official death toll stands at 115. now to a developing story involving a deadly police shooting in philadelphia. >> new video appears to contradict what police initially said happened. some viewers may find the video disturbing. a family in philadelphia is demanding answers after this newly released video of a deadly police shooting. it appears to contradict the officer's account of what happened. >> we have some business to straighten up. >> lawyers for eddie irizarry's family released the video of his final moments last week as officer marc dial opened fire during a traffic stop. no, sir. you. are the family pointing to the video as evidence challenging the initial version of events by police. according to the police report, irizarry was driving the wrong way down a one way street when he was pulled over. the police report stated irizarry got out of his car and lunged at officers with a knife before officer dial opened fire. but the video shows

irizarry's car door and window were closed. what about what you just saw? >> could ever be confused as he got out of the car and lunged at police officers. >> police say two knives were found in the car, but they would not say if either knife was in irizarry's hand when he was shot. >> there was an intentional, misleading of the public. irizarry family is now filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of philadelphia. >> and officer dial this officer really took someone very special to us. >> and i just want him to pay for what he did. >> a police oversight group has recommended officer dial be fired. meanwhile, the district attorney is investigating. >> well, the father of a pro football player has died in this massive home explosion outside of charlotte, north carolina. tennessee titans quarterback caleb farley bought the 6300 square foot house for his dad, whose body was found in the debris. officials are focusing their investigation on a natural gas pipeline. a family friend

>> seven year old boy has survived a bear attack outside of new york city. police say the boy was playing in his backyard with a sibling in westchester county when he was scratched by a male cub. the child is expected to recover. witnesses say the boy's father was left bloody after rushing to help his son. police say they euthanized the bear at the scene because it continued to pose a danger. its remains are now being tested for rabies. >> scary stuff for sure. now to the dramatic rescue of children trapped high above a ravine in pakistan. inside a cable car. that rescue playing out on live television over a 13 hour period. here's abc's alison kosik. >> it was a heart stopping rescue in mid-air. more than 600ft above a ravine in north west pakistan. six children and two adults trapped in this cable car after a line snapped, leaving them, um, dangling from a single cable. all the cable car transports students to

school every day, a lifeline in that mountainous region with few roads. it took crews three hours to stage the delicate rescue effort here. one child is seen swinging out from the car, hoisted up by a safety line to a military helicopter hovering above. but crews feared the rotors from the rescue chopper could destabilize the cable car . and as the hours went by and darkness set in, they needed a new strategy. one of the adult passengers called a local tv network saying they had no food or water and at least one student was slipping in and out of consciousness when it got too dark and dangerous for choppers to daring, responders climbed out on to the cable to set up a makeshift rescue zip line. the operation extending into the night until finally the last of those trapped were brought down to the ground, safe after 16 long, harrowing hours, this boy

saying we were very scared. the first car was shaking. then helicopters came and we gained some confidence. meanwhile, those two brave rescuers are now being hailed heroes across pakistan on by the grace of allah, all of them are fine, he said. there are regular complaints that the cable car system is not properly maintained. so there are new calls for safety improvements. without it, though, those kids would have a two hour drive to school. that cable car cuts it to four minutes. and drew morgan , allison, thank you. >> a promising development now in the fight against prostate cancer. a study out of the u.k. found that mri scans could be used to screen men for the disease. and the scans were shown to be more accurate than blood tests. the blood tests that detect high levels of psa proteins are considered unreliable. so researchers say the mri is diagnosed. serious prostate cancer that would have

target, home depot, tj maxx and ulta recently sounding the alarm on brazen thieves ransack stores in 60 tremely difficult to quantify the degree of the problem because not a lot of information is shared. this flash mob recently took off with $100,000 in merchandise from a california mall, but big box retailers have been hit the hardest. the national retail federation says organized retail crime is increasing accounting. for $94.5 billion in losses in 2021. >> a lot of the stolen merchandise just ends up being resold on third party marketplace online. >> the spike in retail theft is being blamed on everything from inflation to what critics call a lack of law enforcement from prosecutors. experts say some of those losses in stores are being passed on to consumers. forced the average family to pay an estimated $500 more each year for goods to fight back. walgreens has launched a prototype store where all merchandise, except for
