>> it still ongoing. >> there are -- is a lot of speculation. >> sources familiar with the matter told us that the company bought more than 55,000 acres of dry farmland with the hope of building a utopian city focused on affordable housing, clean energy and sustainable infrastructure. but for five years, no one knew why. sources confirmed to the i-team that he is backed by heavyweights in silicon valley, a slew of tech billionaires. it was marked in delaware as a state with strong legal protections to guard corporate ownership. flannery has purchased more than 300 parcels of land since 2018. dozens of which are now bordering three sides of travis air force base. >> solano county administrator bill says that its strategic location caught their attention. >> at what point throughout that. -- stretch of time did you become that -- i

apprehensive? >> we were immediately concerned. >> by 2019, flannery purchased and that the three parcels bordering travis. in 2020, most of the land was acquired around the base. congressman mike thompson sounded the alarm to the u.s. air force, prompting a federal investigation. we spoke to him earlier this month. >> we learned that there is sensitive military storage extending beyond the base itself. are any of the other land acquisitions in and around solano county raising concerns about that or any other possible threat to national security? >> i understand that they have purchased land next to major can indication facilities away from the base and they have purchased land on or near areas where sensitive fiber has been very. they have also purchased land on or near where supply piping lies

to bring fuel onto the base. those are all concerning >> the ceo of the firm and his consultant sat down with thompson for the first time this week to get clarification on that. >> they have phil maton in those cases it was property that they had to buy in order to be able to purchase property. >> you are referring to the parcels of land that were adjacent to the communication tower that extends beyond the base? >> flannery indicated to you that they have since sold back that land? they sold it to someone, they did not say here. they said that they were working with a major property owner to buy property and the property owner said while you're at it, why don't you buy this as well? i don't know if that was negotiated or how it picked -- care about. >> nothing about this is made

franciscans calling in scenes like this. everything from a drug overdose to a mental health incident. >> buff and people don't know what to do or what to call or what is supposed to happen. >> that is why san francisco is launching a citywide campaign to help people better understand how its street response teams work, and what you can do to help. >> if you're worried about someone on the street, that they are passed out or on responsive -- unresponsive, or having a behavioral health crisis, call 911. >> we would rather that you call 911 out of concern than not make the call, we are happy to show up and evaluate someone and we are happy when someone is ok. make that call and show that person that you care. >> they're asking people not to hesitate. >> are highly trained dispatchers will figure out what is going on, as get the right questions, figure out what the appropriate responses, and they will send the right team out there to help.

breezy as we head into the latter part of the evening and really taper off later on tonight, coming more off of the ocean which will bring that higher humidity and lower fire danger. we keep the smoke going through parts of tomorrow and by now :00 p.m. tomorrow, the winds switch direction, pushing smoke out of the bay area so we can hopefully breathe easier. he was alive be from the golden gate bridge, seeing sunshine, fire danger for this evening, he teases tomorrow, hazy and smoky, much cooler on friday, and isolated chance of a few showers. not a lot, but a little bit. 6:00, still hot inland in the 90's, 60's coast side, and by 8:00 p.m. we are talking warm weather inland, fog creeps back in by tomorrow morning the coast and around parts of the bay, you will notice the difference, the 50's and 60's at 7:00 a.m.. we have higher clouds coming in as well. temperatures will drop off.

it is not going to be quite as hot as it was today. morning numbers in the 50's and 60's, watch out for that fog. tomorrow afternoon, we are talking about 60's at the beaches, low 90's inland, looking at hazy sunshine for the first half of the day. let's talk about the hurricane. right now, we are tracking the storm over charleston south carolina, heavy rain is falling and they have tornado watch boxes for parts of north carolina. it made landfall as a category three storm, and right now it's a tropical storm. there have been numerous reports of flooding, footnote clouds, storm surge and the damage it has caused. it's back humans of 65 miles per hour, the biggest threat is going to be the flooding. at 11:00 a.m., it will be near georgetown as a tropical storm and continue to move out over the open atlantic. let's look at the accuweather 7-day forecast. the heat is easing tomorrow, still hazy, windy on friday,

it's going to be cloudier and certainly noticeably cooler, particularly inland, where numbers drop down into the 70's. well below average. might see a few droplets early in the morning, temperatures remained below average to start labor day weekend and in the low 80's for the warmest spots, but by monday it's good and -- going back up into the 90's inland. that warming continues on tuesday. >> i texted with a dear friend who lives in charleston. he says it's not too bad right now. it is all low country, so flooding is concerning, but it's not too far yet.
