you will probably feel the effect of the smoke more than the general public. sky 7 video from above san francisco yesterday clouded by smoke, a similar view from across the bay in emeryville, where the smoke was so thick, you could not see the golden gate bridge. the bay area air district issuing a spare the air alert for wednesday. >> we believe ozone will be at unhealthy levels and there is thing going on, wishes that we have been getting smoke from the fires happening on the northern california/oregon border and some of that is filtering down to us as well. gloria: one of the fires is the smith river complex fire. it has ballooned to nearly 80,000 acres. the bay area air district spokesperson says even if a wildfire is hundreds of miles away, it can impact us in the bay area. as for when that smoke will clear, an expert tells us we

could be in luck by the weekend. live in pleasanton, gloria rodríguez, abc 7 news. reggie: we are still seeing some deliberate power shutoffs from pg&e this morning, although the numbers are very small. the utility proactively turned off power to thousands of customers to prevent wildfires from sparking. you see there is just one purple triangle that is way up north impacting about 130 customers who still have no electricity in colusa county. napa county saw brief outages. kumasi: winemakers in sonoma county say there will be a delay in the grapes because of the winter. they started with the annual bellringing in the mission. abc7 spoke with the executive director of the sonoma valley ventures and growers alliance. she said a cool start to the year delayed blooming and the harvest is expected to last into november. >> everybody is ready to get to

for the third storm related death. in florida, the storm roared ashore with the winds topping 125-miles per hour. the powerful winds knocking down buildings, street signs, and trees. many homes have been left in shambles. >> the top of the roof just caved, snapped in. my three kids on my grandson. my daughter is pregnant, five months pregnant, so i was able to pull her out of it. jobina: the storm brought down a huge oak tree at the governors mansion in tallahassee. governor ron desantis and his family were not home at the time, or excuse me, they were home at the time, but they were not injured. kumasi: the family of a man killed by vallejo police in 2020 will be making a public plea for justice today. they want attorney general rob bonta to charge gerrit todd in sean

kumasi: flames shot through a building in johannesburg, south africa overnight, killing at least 73 people, including kids. more than 50 are hurt. the building had been taken over by on housed individuals who created -- by homeless individuals who created makeshift homes inside. the cause of the fire is under investigation. reggie: more than three weeks after the deadly wildfires tour through maui, dry conditions have prompted a fire weather watch for parts of the island. an update on the list of those unaccounted for will be released tomorrow. search efforts are officially complete. the focus now on the rebuilding. >> i directed my team to do everything we can for as long as it takes to help maui recover, rebuild in a way that respects

the county found west nile virus positive mosquitoes in a handful of zip codes in san jose and unincorporated santa clara county. you can see the zip codes listed on your screen. the plan is to spray the area in the 95125 zip code tonight the other areas will be sprayed on tuesday. it starts at 10:00 this evening, or tonight. reggie: a bay area photographer is opening up a new exhibition showing some legendary musicians in san francisco's unique music culture. 200 photographs of some of the most exhilarating moments in music history on display. the photographer brings together photos from 1978 through 2008 that revealed the city's wide-ranging influence on music history. it features images of th history. it features images of the grateful dead, joni mitchell, neil young, and the list goes on. >> one of the things we really wanted to showcase where the venues in the bay area, right?

san francisco facility reversed 333 overdose cases for nearly 50 weeks, people want to the center for resources like housing, showers, and hot meals. it was never meant to be a permanent place of refuge. it opened as part of mayor london breed's efforts to mitigate the opioid crisis. kumasi: now to a story we first told you about yesterday. san francisco city attorney david hsu's wing and after sales for mark benioff told the chronicle this year's dream f orce could be the last in san francisco. that sifter convention is impacted by homelessness and the drug crisis. the city is currently trying to get a court to end an injunction preventing them from clearing encampments until there's housing for every single person on the street. he is a part of that push. >> i think mr. benioff's comments, unfortunately, highlight how important it is for us to resolve this injunction that allows us -- in
