hoping to get some and then i came down here to the cvs here in novato, hoping to get some and they haven't had any since early august. they told me several pharmacy chains in marin county are sold out of tests. >> employees telling customers to check back later online. we found a number of walgreens stores showing test kits not available or in limited stock at stores in san francisco. and the east bay clearly seeing more transmit option, and that's leading to more cases, more symptoms and more demand for tests. dr. matt willis says a summer surge in covid cases likely fueling demand for tests , along with students going back to school. all those test kits may be, in short supply going into the fall season, walgreens telling abc7 news. we are seeing greater demand in this category nationwide, which may cause temporary and isolated shortages. we continue to restock those stores as quickly as possible to best meet customer demands. >> i'm wearing a mask inside again and i want to have tests available. i'm traveling on monday for a week. so, you know,
8:19 am
i wanted to get some tests one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. >> this cvs store in novato just got a fresh shipment of covid tests. we also found plenty of kits available on amazon, some with overnight shipping. dr. willis says if you need to get tested right away, call your doctor and then your other option is going to your health care provider. >> health care providers do have test kits as well. in marin county, cornell bernard, abc7 news. >> and something else to add, covid tests that are past their expiration date can still be used to make sure. just check the manufacturer's website for the specifics on how long the test is viable. happening now part of westbound i-80 is closed for all of labor day weekend so it can be repaved. westboun 80 is closed between interstate 780 and highway four, and that in the carquinas bridge. the detour is highlighted in green right there on the map. so drivers should take 782, 680 and then highway four back to 80. and as you can imagine, there is
8:20 am
a lot of slow traffic on that detour. this is what it looked like yesterday on southbound interstate 680. a lot of trucks were sharing the road with cars. 80 is closed so that caltran can repave it. it plans to pour 9000yd■!t of concrete treat so that it can reface four lanes of traffic. caltrans says that condensing the work into the long weekend will spare drivers from months of overnight closures. so if you travel there , keep that in mind. i was there earlier this week and you know it is going to be a problem for some people, but it will be good in the long run where that road will be repaved. so, frances, how's it looking? this labor day weekend? >> it is looking very cloudy right now as we show you live. doppler seven and satellite radar image. and that's going to be the story for most of the weekend as we zoom in a little bit, there's some light rain falling in sacramento, elk grove already got four hundreds of an inch during the past 12 hours. and then here's a live shot from sutro. so a great start this
8:21 am
morning as we look toward san francisco. most temperatures are now in the 60s san francisco's 62, oakland 65. san jose, also 65 half moon bay, 63 degrees. and this time from emeryville. we're looking out west. so we're seeing some breaks in the cloud cover right there over the bay. winds are light right now. you can see the water is calm in santa rosa at 61, novato is 63. napa, 65 and we're seeing low to mid 60s through fairfield, concord and also in livermore. and as we show you the golden gate bridge, not too much fog out there. even a little bit of breaks in the clouds and some blue right now. but here's what you need to know for the forecast. so mostly cloudy throughout the weekend. we even could get some morning drizzle and also again tonight, there's a chance of isolated showers this weekend, but the chance is around 10 to 20. so very light chances and then it's going to be cooler than average through labor day. but we will get more
8:22 am
sunshine on labor day itself. so the reason for all this cloudy weather and these cooler conditions is this area of low pressure there just to the east of ukiah, this counterclockwise rotation is bringing us the cloud cover and the cooler weather for cast animation shows you those little bits of green popping up. that's the chance of an isolated shower. but you notice even through tomorrow, most of this rain will fall east of the bay area or also to our north, and it will bring a chance of thunderstorms to the sierra. highs today will generally be in the 70s half moon bay when the coolest spots at 66. san francisco 70, oakland 73. san jose 76. and it's going to be a little bit sunnier in the north bay. santa rosa will be comfortable at 75 inland areas hitting near 80 degrees today. tonight the clouds will fill in once again and temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s for many parts of the bay area. a little bit cooler in the north bay like cloverdale, santa rosa, lakeport near 56 degrees. and then let's jump
8:23 am
ahead to monday. so we'll get a little bit more sunshine and that allows inland neighborhoods to warm up into the mid 80s for some spots like fairfield, antioch and then around the bay comfortable, we'll see lots of 70s. but at the beaches it's actually going to be cooler because of that stronger sea breeze. so some mid 60s for the beaches. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so we are tracking those isolated chances showers but it is really light and that chance lingers through tomorrow. slightly cooler and then slightly warmer for labor day with a little bit more sunshine really will be closer to average next week on tuesday and then through the workweek, we'll warm up a little bit. so it's going to be nicer this weekend is kind of just gray and, i don't know, cool. it kind of makes me feel kind of sleepy this weekend. >> it does, right. but, you know, the good news is you could still go out and enjoy labor day weekend. it's not like it's going to be raining the whole weekend or in fact, really, if we do get rain, it'll be a few
