september 12th. >> yes, a lot to get to. we want to start the check of our forecast with drew. yeah, good morning. >> so we are beginning with more fog compared to yesterday morning and it will lead to a cooler afternoon today. right now, we have temperatures for the most part, we're in the upper 50s to lower 60s. as we get you outside on this tuesday, here's a live look from our mt. tam camera showing you we have that low level marine layer. this morning. but once we burn it off, we'll have a lot of sunshine on the way. here's how the day shapes up that sun's up here in about 48 minutes, we'll have mostly sunny skies when that fog burns off and pulls back to the coast by about 10 a.m. the afternoon, it will feel cooler. and also breezier compared to yesterday. so some spots about five degrees cooler today compared to yesterday. low 70s around the bay shoreline, low to mid 80s inland high jobina. hi, drew. >> thank you. good morning, everybody. we're going to start with a look at mass transit. it's all on time right now. so if you rely on this for your commute, you're in great shape with bart muni and ace san mateo bridge. things are at the limit, but starting to get a little bit slower in the westbound

direction as you travel towards the peninsula. metering lights flipped on at the bay bridge toll plaza at 546. and this is our busiest area right now. traffic is backed into the maze and i'll let you know if anything else pops up out there for your commute. koumassi thanks, jobina. >> developing news this morning. part of a busy street in san francisco's cow hollow neighborhood is closed after a water main break caused a flood and a huge sinkhole. so the break was on fillmore at union street. and then about a block away, you can see on this map, the sinkhole opened up on green street. and it's just gotten bigger and bigger from there. sky seven captured these images of it. and crews have been working to repair this mess. abc seven news reporter lena howland live there with the latest. hi, lena. >> hey there. good morning to you. the good news out here is that crews have already gone in and replaced and fixed the water main that broke, but crews are still on scene here at this hour about a block up the street from where we are working to make some repairs to this severely damaged road. now, take a look at some of this video. the

sinkhole here on green boulevard balloon wound in size as a result of that water main break. just look at these images are sky seven caught overhead during the daytime. this caused some businesses like the wilder sf bar to become flooded with water, mud and sand. >> it's utter chaos. i mean, the floor is caked in mud and then underneath that, a layer of water. san francisco has pipes that are well over 100 years old. >> some of them are brick. and this one was a cast iron. and that was a spokesman for the san francisco public utilities commission. >> he says while there is a multibillion dollar plan to improve infrastructure, including replacing pipes across the city, crews tell us the water main that broke was installed in 1949. now normal water service has been restored to folks that live out here in this neighborhood. but for those trying to get out to work this

morning, they are going to want to take another route and avoid this area completely as there are still multiple roads shut down at this hour. live in san francisco, lena howland, abc seven news. >> lena, thank you. this morning, police in pennsylvania are on the ground in chester county. they confirmed a new sighting of an escaped murderer there. sources say he may now be armed with a rifle. jobina is tracking that from the live desk. jobina. >> thank you, reggie. this is the first report of a sighting since this weekend after darnell cavalcanti changed his appearance. he escaped nearly two weeks ago from inside a pennsylvania prison. and video shows the 34 year old scaling a wall to get out of there. but since then, the convicted killer has managed to slip through police lines. overnight, authorities swarming an area in chester county, pennsylvania. they are investigating a new confirmed sighting from a chopper. pennsylvania state police say they are pursuing cavalcanti and that he is armed sources telling our sister station wpb that a local

homeowner had shot someone matching cavalcanti's description. but it's unclear if that individual will was hit. >> we have always treated him as potentially being armed. he's been carrying a pack. there's no way to know exactly what's in that pack. >> source does say law enforcement also found shoes in the search. the latest images captured on doorbell video shows cavaco anti now clean shaven, wearing different clothes. cavalcanti was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend in front of her two children. as of this morning, local, state and federal law enforcement still are searching for him. karbassi. >> thank you, jobina. new this morning, the biden administration says eight more companies are pledging to implement artificial intelligence safeguards. bay area based salesforce and adobe are among the companies agreeing to this voluntary framework. it includes security testing, ai systems before they are released to the public, sharing

information about managing risks and developing a labeling system so users know when they are viewing ai generated content. in all, 15 companies have agreed to participate, and this step is being seen as a stopgap. as congress works on laws to govern, ai. >> happening today, salesforce's annual dreamforce conference kicks off here in san francisco . this year's focus is just what komatsu is talking about artificial intelligence. about 43,000 people are expected to descend on what salesforce calls its dreamforce national park. the company has transformed part of howard street and moscone center to inspire their attendees and attendees, nicknamed trailblazer. to learn more about ai, ceo marc benioff is set to open the conference at 10:00, and the conference runs through thursday. >> there are already a lot of people out there and millions of dollars are heading to bay area schools courtesy of salesforce. yesterday, the san francisco based company announced $20 million in education grants during a celebration at george washington high school. salesforce says the money is

through. >> yesterday, the city of oakland announced a $2.5 million investment to improve 911 response times in the city. >> a san francisco bar is dealing with the aftermath of a break in. the owner of lone star saloon in soma shared these photos on social media. he said, i guess it was finally our turn. after 34 years, we were broken into. it's not clear exactly what the thieves took, but if you look at these photos, you can see a mess really in different parts of the space. and some of the alcohol there is missing. the business is back open, ephemeral tattoos, open in san francisco with the promise of temporary ink. >> but now the startup is closing all its studios, including the one in the mission after customers complained their tattoos are lasting much longer than promised. according to the san francisco chronicle, these temporary style tattoos were done with a real needle, and they were supposed to fade out over 9 to 15 months. but now many people have complained that up to two years later, they still have the tattoos with varying degrees of fading. the

studios expanded quickly across the us. they've already served more than 20,000 people. all of their doors will close by the end of this month. >> a group advocating for safer streets for pedestrians will come together near san francisco's oracle park today. walk sf is planning to build a memorial at the site where a four year old girl was killed one month ago. the driver accused in that crash at fourth and king streets appeared in court yesterday. police say 71 year old karen cartagena hit and killed the young girl while she was being pushed in a stroller. she has pleaded not guilty to vehicular manslaughter. crews have removed one of the two right hand turn lanes on fourth street to try and make that intersection safer. but advocates say it's not enough. they are calling for a pedestrian only phase of the turn signal, among other safety improvements. >> oracle park will once again host a ball game this fall. only it's a different ball. it's a golf ball. the ball back nine event will transform the field into a nine hole golf course. a

the country, including all their properties in las vegas, into chaos. the company says the breach started sunday day. the fbi is now investigating. it apparently brought down the mgm website, the reservation system , and caused casino gaming floors to go offline. las last night, mgm said that the gaming floors are back up and running, but the hotel and restaurant reservation system that's still not working. also, some hotel guests are being given physical keys because the digital keys on their phones aren't working. >> one step closer to freedom for five americans detained in iran, the biden administration is now waiving sanctions to allow the transfer of $6 million in frozen iranian money from south korea to qatar. this is part of a previously announced prisoner swap to get these americans home. us secretary of state antony blinken signed off on the waivers last week. iran reportedly can only use the money for humanitarian purposes . us as part of the deal, the administration also agreed to
