right now with clear skies. the day planner will look like this. we'll have limited fog along the coast today. today is the last day we'll see our marine layer this week. tomorrow it goes away. we'll have sunshine for most in those temperatures, warmer than yesterday. today, most of us in the upper 70s to the mid 80s this afternoon. close look at these highs coming up in a few minutes. let's check in with jobina and see how traffic's doing this morning. >> thank you, drew. good morning, everyone. we are following a sigalert right now in san mateo due to a multi-car crash in the area. you can see the speeds are down to around 18mph in this spot. westbound 92 before 101 is the site of the crash. and if you're traveling westbound on the san mateo bridge, you will run into a slowdown right as you get to the end of the bridge there and walnut creek showing you a live picture of 680. very busy for people traveling in the southbound direction. we don't have any blocking issues reported there, but it is slow. and then we will end with the bay bridge toll plaza. we're metering lights came on at 538 coomassie thanks jobina. >> developing news from san francisco this morning. we are hearing from the autonomous vehicle company cruise after

pedestrian was pinned under one of its vehicles during a hit and run crash involving another car. all of this happened around 930 last night at fifth and market streets. a car hit the woman moments before a cruise car ran over her and she had to go to the hospital with serious injuries. abc7 news reporter lena howland just saw video of that incident and joins us is joining us live to explain. lena >> well, just moments ago i talked to a representative from cruise who showed some video with us of the crash in question . and while that video is much too graphic for us to show on air, it does clearly show that that victim was hit by another car. first, the impact of that crash was so severe, the victim was launched into the lane over directly in front of their autonomous vehicle before running her over. cruise officials said their vehicle operated as designed and started braking before impact. san francisco police are investigating, although they would not confirm if this was a hit and run. firefighters had to

use the jaws of life to pull the woman out from underneath the car. and police say this was a first for them. we have not seen a vehicle collision involving injuries of this nature with an autonomous vehicle. >> any incident involving the injury of anyone on our streets is a big concern for the police, whether they be involving cars with drivers or cars that don't have drivers. >> now, cruise is not doing any on camera interviews to address this incident, but they did release a statement saying the autonomous vehicle then braked aggressively to minimize the impact. the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene and at the request of the police, the ave was kept in place. now, back here live at cruise headquarters is the spokesperson for cruise did tell us that they are working actively with police to try to find the other driver involved. live in san francisco , lena howland, abc seven news.

is scheduled to fly to san francisco today, her first official stop as us senator for california. plans are now set for senator feinstein's funeral service on thursday. there's a change here. it will now be allowed. it will be now open to the public outside on the steps of san francisco city hall, starting at 1 p.m. previous to this, they said it was going to be a private service if you were unable to attend. we will be streaming it on our abc7 news bay area app tomorrow. the senator will lie in state at city hall with the public viewing from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. a book of condolences is available to sign. senator feinstein passed away of natural causes late last week. the titan of san francisco and us politics was 90 years old. >> the chaos on capitol hill continues this morning. some republicans started the process of ousting house speaker kevin mccarthy. jobina is at the live desk with what comes next. jobina. thank you. >> fellow republican matt gaetz filed a motion to remove mccarthy as speaker, and that

vote could come down as soon as today. gaetz finally filing his motion after months of threats that intensified over last weekend when mccarthy worked with democrats to pass a short term deal to fund the government until november 17th. that bipartisan an agreement buying the house more time after mccarthy failed to win over hard line conservatives who were blocking his stopgap proposal and refusing to support new ukraine defense funding. though the final deal does not include ukraine spending, the president says mccarthy assured him it would be approved separately in an agreement. gates says that was the final straw at this point. >> next week, one of two things will happen. kevin mccarthy won't be the speaker of the house or he'll be the speaker of the house working at the pleasure of the democrats across the aisle, house democrat have not said if they will help supply mccarthy with enough votes to keep his gavel in. >> in us history, there have only been two efforts to remove

a sitting house speaker. both failed in 1910 and in 2015. if all democrat to vote to remove, which seems unlikely, gates would only need a handful of votes to oust mccarthy. reggie thanks jobina in the south bay, an investigation is underway after two children drowned in a pool at an in-home daycare. >> this happened just after nine yesterday morning at happy happy daycare. that's in san jose's almaden valley neighborhood on fleetwood drive. this is video from sky seven. you can see the pool does have a fence, a gate and a pool cover. so far, police aren't saying much about what exactly happened here. we know a total of three children fell into the pool. two of them died and the third was hospitalized and is expected to recover. >> it just makes my heart and i feel bad for the families because we do. when i take her to school, we watch. we watch the families bring their kids. and so we see their faces. it's

wildcat beach sunday after witnesses called to report a shark attack. the us coast guard spent yesterday looking for the swimmer and they came up empty handed. the national park service is categorized using this incident as an unconfirmed shark attack. but also they say there are a lot of dangerous rip currents along that coast. national park service rangers will continue their search operation. the coast guard is calling off its search. we're told the victim was with a group who traveled to the scenic part of point reyes for a wedding celebration. bart has a new police chief and he is a familiar face as interim chief. kevin franklin will move into that position permanently. franklin is a 27 year veteran of the department. he has served as interim chief since may. and since then, franklin says he's made safety for riders a priority by making sure that bart is safe for everyone is

>> make it cute. here's sfo this morning. we are dealing with a mainly clear skies this morning. just a little bit of fog along the coastline. we are going to get warm later on today. a warming trend starts. you could see our daytime highs, 70s and 80s. today will be several degrees above that this afternoon. and this warming trend will just continue to accelerate. wednesday and thursday, thursday, thursday is the hottest day we have this week. we'll show you those numbers in one second. partly cloudy along the coastline. sunshine away from the coast, 70s and 80s. today it is a warm one, certainly warmer than yesterday day. and we'll continue that trend of each and every day getting warmer than the last as we head into thursday. overnight tonight, we'll lose that marine layer. plenty of stars, upper 50s to lower 60s. we will watch a little bit of a breeze. we're watching parts of the north bay, middletown, calistoga, napa tomorrow morning for a dry offshore breeze. about 15 to 25mph to begin the day. but it's a short lived event. by the afternoon, we lose that offshore component. but that wind is going to warm us up. area wide.

really unique experience on pier 30 yesterday, just next to the uss uss john p murtha. the academy of art dunking basketball players and the navy sailors and marines who stay on the ship got together to play a little ball with the kids and while this day was all about fun for all ages, we got word that 63 marines just arrived in san francisco after being deployed more than 7000 miles away in the pacific. >> it's great to be home. it was fun. it was intense and we were very busy. we marines love being busy. so no complaints. but by the end, it was it was nice to be back home. not only did the kids from the boys and girls club get to play basketball with the military men and women who serve our country, but they also got a tour of the ship that is really cool and this is really just the beginning. >> we have the full schedule of fleet week events up on our website from the bands and of course, the blue angels who are in the sky yesterday giving us a little sneak peek of what's to

treatment in the hospital right now. live in san francisco, lena howland, abc seven news. >> thank you, lena. the man accused of killing tech executive bob lee in san francisco will be staying in jail. a judge heard arguments from naema mumin's new defense team yesterday but ultimately denied him bail. molina is accused of stabbing the cash app founder in april. bail for many was previously denied when he had a different attorney yesterday day, prosecutors said nothing had changed other than them getting access to mumin's cell phone. they say that showed text messages from his own family calling him, quote, a lunatic and, quote, psychotic. molina's attorney reacted to the judge's decision. >> i'm disappointed in the court's ruling. i think that there are conditions that the court could have set out. i don't think that this is a guaranteed no bond situation. and we believe that we made the right arguments. but we you know, we respect the judge's decision because that's what we have to do.

has more on what to look out for this morning. >> a wake up call for parents as more teens begin to explore art . artificial intelligence experts say what happened to a group of girls in spain recently could happen anywhere. spanish authorities say more than 30 girls ages 12 to 14, started receiving fake nude images of themselves. the images were created using an app powered by artificial intelligence that undresses people. police say a group of teen boys had used photos from the girls social media profiles, uploaded them to the app, and shared them on social media. >> so essentially these apps were actually strip individuals and that enables folks to distribute images of them in attempts maybe to sexually shame them, to humiliate them or just because they think it's funny. sophie maddox, an expert on cyber sexual violence, says these apps are becoming more accessible. this issue is happening for everyday people, not just celebrities and folks in the public eye. >> and while these nude images are fabricated experts like cory
