oakland citizens who are making safety in their neighborhood a top priority by taking matters into their own hands. abc seven news at six starts now. >> building a better bay area moving forward, finding solutions. this is abc7 news. >> after more than a week of brutal deadly air attacks, a final warning delivered by air for residents to get out of gaza for their own safety. good evening and thanks for joining us. i'm j.r. stone. as the violence continues to escalate, the humanitarian crisis in the middle east is growing. the us is now appointing a special envoy who will focus on ensuring that life saving assistance can reach vulnerable people throughout the region. the death toll is rising more than 4000 killed in attacks by israel's military and hamas. that includes more than 2600 palestinians and more than 1400 israelis, according to officials . it's now the deadliest of the

five gaza wars there were also 30 us citizens killed, according to the state department, 13 americans remain unaccounted for. here is inés de la cartera with the latest from jerusalem. >> pm israel continue. who's preparing for an imminent invasion of the gaza strip? the idf says plans are set for a coordinated attack by air, sea and land and we will strike hamas from the top through its institutions all the way down to the individuals that conducted the butchery of our babies. >> we did not ask for this war, but we will win it. israel has been dropping leaflets over gaza urging people to move south for their own safety. >> we have asked gaza and civilians in northern gaza to evacuate to the south. >> so that they are out of an area that is going to be an active combat zone. >> israel launching retaliate airstrikes into gaza, more than a week ago following the brutal attack by hamas. israeli officials say at least 1300 have

state solution. >> a pro-palestinian protest in san francisco yesterday drew a crowd of thousands as hundreds also came out to support the people of israel for a rally in san francisco. and on the peninsula. stanford students tied ribbons to combat. some hate messages on the conflict. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard has more. we stand with israel. >> we stand with israel. >> several hundred people rallying at san francisco's civic center to show their support for israel in the midst of the conflict. we want our children back. this group condemning the actions of hamas. pleading for the safe return of kidnaped families and children. what's going to happen to this kid? >> he's four years old, four years old. how is he going to hold on in hamas captivity? >> i don't know. >> we need to bring our people home. >> we stand with israel. >> it's not about us, right? even if you are pro palestinian, you should stand with us.

>> i was actually on the united flight on friday night a week ago. that was redirected back to san francisco. >> ginny roth attends college in tel aviv, where her grandparents live. >> they spent the past week in bomb shelters. my grandfather is actually in the hospital right now. there's just i mean, elderly people are suffering immensely because of this. >> jewish students and israeli students on campus have been really struggling for the last week. hillel at stanford, rabbi jessica kirshner says it's why students type dozens of blue ribbons around campus on sunday. >> she says it's a response to anti-israeli messages written in chalk and banners across campus this week when there was silence at the beginning from the highest levels of the university. >> the noise that filled it was really frightening and alienating. and so i think our students are trying to put out a different message this week, students from hillel gathered for a vigil to light candles and pray for israel. >> cornell bernard, abc7 news.

for everyone began collecting signatures for the recall. they say price has failed to responsibly prosecute criminals. brenda grisham, who lost her son to gun violence, says the county needs to do more to keep the community safe. >> the focus of the da's department is not to just set aside the families that have lost their loved ones. you have to work with these families in order to make a difference and to help other families. they're not going to court and letting due process have its way. we're they're stepping in and doing plea deals and not, you know, informing the parents of what's going on. and that's unfair. >> safe has until march 5th to gather more than 70,000 signatures to get the recall on the ballot next year. we asked price about the recall effort last week. she said she was elected by the people of alameda county and is doing what she was appointed to. a group of west oakland residents are taking their community's safety into their own hands. they came

plotted her own escape attempt. surveillance video shows caitlyn armstrong trying to scale a seven foot fence to break free from custody. now, according to an affidavit, armstrong put in a medical request that restricting the use of leg restraints then filed an injury complaint to get herself a doctor's appointment outside of the prison. officers

say as they escorted armstrong from the doctor's office to the car. she then made a run for it, trying to scale the fence. an officer pulled her down and she tried to run again. they say armstrong went about a mile while stripping off her prisoner uniform and even freed a hand from her cuffs before finally being caught. >> this affidavit is all about mrs. armstrong's attempt to escape authorities and to go somewhere else. she was clearly intentional about trying to get away from authorities. >> armstrong is accused of murdering a professional cyclist who armstrong believed was romantically involved with their boyfriend. authorities say armstrong appears to have been planning to break out of jail for a while. they've combed through video which they say shows her and shows that she had been exercising vigorously for months ahead of the escape attempt. that is all happening in travis county, which is in the austin area. today, members and friends of glide, the spiritual haven, have extra

reason to rejoice at sunday service. the church introduced its new ceo, dr. gina fromer brings more than four decades of experience leading organizations. she relied on help from glide in the late 1980s as a young mother for dr. frommer's was most recently ceo of the children's council of san francisco. co. there she oversaw . a $236 million budget. sad news to report from the entertainment world. actress suzanne somers has died. somers is best known for her roles on the tv series three's company. and step by step, she was also the main spokesperson for the thighmaster. she was born in san bruno. her publicist says she passed away peacefully this morning after fighting breast cancer for more than 23 years. tomorrow would have been her 77th b birthday. t taylor swifts proving to be a chart topper in more ways than one. still ahead, the big weekend at the box office for the music superstar

j.r. and i were just discussing. and some higher clouds are moving in our direction, also bringing some moisture generally in our direction. but we may not get any rainfall out of it. right now, we're looking at nice brisk breezes blowing onshore, especially around the golden gate, although we've got these cooling onshore breezes, they haven't cooled the land areas down much because 24 hour temperature change shows most locations are quite a few degrees warmer right now than at this time yesterday. we also have elevated wave heights. they're beginning to lower just a little bit. but this beach hazard statement issued by the national weather service remains in effect through the late night hours. there's a risk of sneaker waves and increased risk of dangerous rip currents. okay. here's a live view from sutro tower looking out over san francisco. and here comes the fog. temperature readings right now, 60 degrees in san francisco across the bay in oakland, 67, low to mid 70s at mountain view, san jose, 71. palo alto and 59 at half moon bay. and it's foggy at the golden gate breezy there as well. 72 degrees right now in santa rosa, 75 apiece at novato

and napa, 84 at fairfield and 80 each at concord and livermore. and from mt. tam looking down into the bay, we got a pretty clear view here, but you can see those low clouds working their way through the golden gate out over the locally, out over the bay. these are the forecast headlines. clouds will increase overnight. there may be some morning sprinkles up in the north bay actually could continue into the afternoon, but they'll be widely scattered and very light. minor cooling will occur tomorrow as well with the lingering clouds. but then much warmer weather develops on tuesday and continues through friday. here's our overnight forecast animation starting at 7 p.m. notice the clouds increasing again, a few sprinkles offshore and up to our north. a little steadier rainfall, but it'll be well to our north. so we'll start the day tomorrow morning with lingering clouds, maybe a sprinkle or two in the north bay, and then it all sort of starts to clear out late tomorrow evening. overnight, low temperatures will be mainly in the mid 50s highs tomorrow, mid 60s at the coast, low to mid 70s around the bay shoreline, upper 70s to near 80 inland. then on

tuesday it starts to warm up. we'll see some mid to upper 80s inland and then by wednesday look for 9092 degrees in the warmest spots. thursday pretty warm, also low to mid 90s in the hottest spots. so we have quite a warmup coming our way. and here's another view of it on the accuweather seven day forecast. so warming trend starts tomorrow. it'll feel almost like summer on wednesday, above average temperatures remain with us into thursday, which is when we might see low to mid 90s inland mid to upper 80s around the bay shoreline. then cooling begins on friday with an even sharper cooldown going into next weekend. >> now abc seven sports with chris alvarez. >> the 49 ers don't play the browns often, but there were tensions pre game. deebo samuel got mixed up in a pre game fight and then trent williams 71 just put an end to that and you could tell from the early going it was a battle all against the browns brock purdy playing his 13th nfl game still never lost in the regular season opening possession. they go 84 yards and five plays purdy a little shovel pass to christian mccaffrey. 15
