big portion of the north bay experiencing that thick fog right now, that dense fog advisory in effect until 10 a.m. this morning. we'll take a live look from sutro tower and we'll find that areas of dense fog still linger through 9 a.m. by lunchtime, our fog is out of here. pulling back to the coast, but it is a warmer afternoon with those sunny skies today. 70s and 80s away from the coast. that warming trend continues. the next couple of days. we'll show you those numbers coming up in just a little bit kumasi. >> thank you, drew. developing news on the israel-hamas war. a white house officials are confirming president biden will be visiting israel tomorrow. the death toll on both sides has now risen to more than 4000 people. and gloria, there are concerns that the conflict could grow in the coming days. >> that's right, kumasi. there is a growing concern that iran and its proxy hezbollah, in lebanon could enter the conflict in the coming days. that's something the us does not want to happen in that threat. coming as president biden is set to met is set to meet israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu face to face. mr. biden is also

expected to meet with jordan's king, egypt's president and the palestinian national authority during his time overseas. us secretary of state antony blinken in tel aviv yesterday announcing the president's trip after a marathon seven hour meeting with israeli leaders. >> he's coming here at a critical moment for israel, for the region and for the world. president biden will underscore our crystal clear message to any actor, state or non-state, trying to take advantage of this crisis to attack israel. don't to underscore that message, a show of force to thousand us troops are now on alert for possible deployment and a second carrier strike group has moved to the region in hopes of preventing additional attacks. >> as for those 2000 us troops now on standby, high officials say if they are deployed, they would serve and advise using intelligence. and also medical

again, the irs postponed tax deadlines for taxpayers in 55 of the 58 california counties. the new date is november 16th. the extension does not include lassen, modoc and shasta counties. the irs initially extended the traditional filing deadline to yesterday because of the winter storms. it's important to note this change does not apply to state taxes as the deadline to file those was yesterday. >> 611. we're looking at live

doppler seven along with satellite. we now have a ridge of high pressure. it's building off our coast right now. and by tomorrow and thursday, it'll sit on top of northern california acting like a heat pump, starting a warming trend across the region. it is humid out there this morning. we're looking at dew points and these numbers measure just how much moisture is in the atmosphere here and when they're in the upper 50s to lower 60s like they are in oakland and hayward. it is humid out there and that's part of the reason why we're seeing some dense fog this morning. we have a lot of moisture up above that is. being condensed into those thick clouds near the surface. that dense fog advisory in effect until 10 a.m. this morning. that fog burns off for sunshine this afternoon. it will get warm today. warmer than yesterday. most of us going above average later on this afternoon. morning fog to a warmer afternoon and then it's just warm to hot wednesday and thursday. thursday we could have some records. we'll take a closer look at those daytime highs coming up in a few minutes. >> reggie, thanks for coming up, the airline now letting more of

this has changed. so this change will leave walmart, amazon and target as the top dvd retailers in the country. we know san francisco has a thriving and diverse restaurant scene and now it's official. a report by a company called data central ranks san francisco as the most food forward city in america. the ranking is based on a few factors, including diversity of cuisine, prevalence of emerging foods and flavor trends, as well as residents appetite for varied menus. other cities ranked in the top five include la, miami,

washington, d.c. and san diego. san francisco restaurants are going to be highlighted for two weeks next month because it's restaurant week. it goes from november 3rd through the 16th, and this year it's going to be extended an extra four days because of the apec summit. that's expected to bring in thousands of diners from outside the bay area. abc7 spoke with amy cleary from the golden gate restaurant association about what you can expect this year. it's a real diversity of cuisines. >> it's not just it's not just one thing. there's chinese, there's japanese, there's mexican, there's, there's a little bit of everything. and i think that's really great. it's a chance to, you know, we always say to like, go back to your favorites because they need your support. but also, you know, to take a look at the list and see, wow, i've heard about this place. i've always wondered. it's a great chance to try it. >> now, if you want a full list of all the restaurants participating, that's going to be released later today and event called october is hitting the south bay. three italian restaurants are teaming up to provide socks for people who are unhoused. and according to the

afternoon timing out that cloud cover. it stays pretty foggy here for the next couple of hours past 10 a.m. we'll get that sunshine in full effect. a bit of cloud cover along the coast, but today you'll find warmer temperatures compared to yesterday. so we're starting that warming trend this afternoon. 85 in concord, 76 in oakland. fog to sunshine in the city at 72. that dense fog right now in the north bay will give way to sunshine. lots of 80s from napa to san rafael, 85. in santa rosa, 70 for palo alto and fremont 83. that high in san jose overnight tonight, a blend of stars and clouds and temperatures dipping into the 50s heading into wednesday. future tracker temperatures by wednesday afternoon. we continue that warming trend. widespread 80s and low 90s away from the coast. but by thursday, this is when our heat will peak and you can clearly see why mid 90s for a huge portion of the region. upper 80s for oakland, mid 80s
