and i have no voice. these are our headlines. what to expect today lingering patches of fog during the morning commute. that's with us right now. we have a sharp cooldown from yesterday's record heat and even cooler weather coming this weekend with a chance of some showers on sunday. here's our forecast animation showing clouds lingering this morning. but by midday, we'll have at least partly sunny skies, high clouds or mid-level clouds will continue to pass over the bay area today. and some low clouds will linger at the coast, but we will see some sunshine and certainly a cooldown. right now, we see temperatures mainly in the upper 50s to about 60 degrees. highs today. hey, check this out. mid 60s coast low to mid 70s around the bay and low to mid 80s inland where yesterday we had record highs up in the upper 90s. and as we look ahead to tomorrow, it will cool down even more going into sunday. further cooling is likely and maybe even some showers on sunday. so we have a lovely weekend coming our way. jobina. >> thank you, spencer. good morning, everyone. so

unfortunately, if you rely on the richmond, san rafael bridge, i don't have great news for you. this sigalert was supposed to clear two days ago with the three lanes blocked in the westbound direction due to that deadly crash last week. unfortunately, it is still shut down. so we know that starting around 6:00 this morning, we'll start to see a pretty big backup in that area. our busiest stretch at the moment is going to be in emeryville as we show you a live picture of 8-80. those headlights in the westbound direction. our drive times are looking great, though, for our super commuters. no delay at all. tracy to dublin is 29 minutes. kumasi. >> thank you. jobina new developments this morning in the search for the suspects in an attack against a postal worker in san francisco. echo video has just been released of the moments right after it happened. abc7 news reporter lena howland live in san francisco with more on the investigation. anne and the reward being offered now. lena well, on the heels of mail carriers crying out for more safety on the job in a rally last week, another care worker was assaulted this week but this

time right here in san francisco. >> take a look. us postal inspection service shared with us overnight from an attack in the mission district on tuesday afternoon. june, you can't see the attack, but you can hear the mail carrier scream and then a car speeds away. we're told the worker was not seriously hurt. they believe the gray colored car caught speeding away from the scene had the suspects inside. but at a rally last week, edward fletcher, head of the regional national association of letter carriers, told us this is nothing new. as several of the people in his union have reported, being assaulted, robbed and threatened while on the job, have lost some employees. >> they have resigned after being robbed. some of them are still out and have not come back because of the post traumatic stress of being robbed. >> postal inspectors are also asking for help after another mail carrier was attacked and

this time robbed of their mail keys yesterday afternoon. they shared these photos with us, which they believe was used by the suspects in the robbery. now, the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in both of these cases has been set at $150,000. and for those in the mission district where this all happened, they tell us that folks can are encouraged to pick up their mail early as early as possible or have it picked up at the post office live in san francisco, lena howland, abc seven news. what a shame. >> lena. thank you. one of the suspects recently arrested in connection with the shootout along san francisco's embargoed arrow is due in court today. bystanders hid behind cars. they ran for cover as people inside two moving vehicles shot at each other on father's day. a dash cam captured the moment a white car hit a ten year old and a black suv hit a 16 year old. both of those victims survived that night, san francisco police

detained two people from the black suv. now three suspects from the white vehicle have been arrested. >> richard tuiasosopo, xavier pittman and a male juvenile. all arrest warrants were issued for all three of these individuals. richard tuiasosopo was already in custody at the time of this arrest. both xavier pittman and the juvenile were arrested. it turns out one of those names, xavier pittman, is the same person who one $190,000 in a settlement with the city after he was shot and injured by an undercover undercover officer in 2021. >> he is set to be arraigned today. prosecutors say they will ask that he be detained without bail pending his trial. >> developing news, president joe biden will be asking congress to approve a $105 billion foreign aid package today in a 15 minute speech to the nation last night, he addressed the wars in israel and ukraine while appealing to

practice. he denounced anti-semitism and islamophobia. the first trucks of humanitarian aid were expected to pass from egypt into gaza today, but sources say those trucks carrying water, food and medicine have been delayed because the roads in the war torn area are not yet repaired. and the first convoy could cross into the border sometime tomorrow. kumasi. >> thank you, jobina president biden's address is coming as governor newsom arrived in israel today. israeli president isaac herzog shared this photo with newsom overnight. the governor is on a one day trip meeting with those impacted by hamas's attack on israeli civilians. the state is sending medical supplies to the region, including provisions intended for the gaza strip starting next week, governor newsom will be in china for a week long tour focused on the country's climate change policies. the council on american-islamic relations is calling on state officials to support a cease fire, humanize the palestinian people because

witnesses. first call 911 saying someone who had a gun crashed into the building. >> car runs into the china embassy and the guy has a gun. please send the swat as soon as possible. there is a guy drive the car into inside of the office newly released body camera video shows the moments leading up to the shooting. >> witnesses who were hiding in the back are seen running outside as security guards distracted the 31 year old. the guards eventually used pepper spray on the suspect, but when officers came into contact with him, he started waving a knife in the air. that's when officers opened fire and killed him. a loaded crossbow was found in the back seat of his car along with ammunition. police have not said why he was there.

>> time now is 514 and we have new details about the couple killed this week while cycling in napa county. they have been identified as christian and michelle deaton of portland, oregon. investigators say they were riding their bikes along silverado trail when lumber from a truck fell off and hit them. angela fisher, a close friend of the deaton's, spoke with abc seven news. >> they loved and lived as hard as anybody could, and they were the type of people you wanted to. they made you want to be better. exceptional, exceptional people. >> chp is continuing to investigate that incident. a controversial plan to redesign san francisco's marina waterfront is moving forward. the recreation and park commission voted to complete an environmental impact review after it heard concerns from the community. people were protesting outside a city hall

yesterday before the commission heard nearly five dozen public comments. one group accused the city of using money that's supposed to be used to clean up toxins us to build a new harbor. instead >> and p-g-and-e's is providing $190 million to clean up gas toxins that are coming up through the gas house cove. the current plan is to expand the harbor footprint and have more than 200 boats moored along marina green. >> opponents say boats would block bay views. supporters of the idea say the plan will make the waterfront more accessible. >> the bay area's iconic jelly belly brand has just been sold to a chicago based candy company. jelly bellies, headquartered in fairfield and has been family owned since the 1800s. but they are now set to be sold to the ferrero candy company. the mayor of fairfield tells our media partners at the east bay times it'll still be headquartered locally, adding that this does not mean mass layoffs. the deal is expected to

workers. >> two were attacked in two separate incidents just this week here in san francisco. so both happening in the middle of the afternoon. the screams of a mail carrier after being attacked in the mission district. it happened around 330 in the afternoon on tuesday. you can't see the attack, but you can see a gray color card speeding away from the scene, which investigators believe had the suspects inside. we're told the worker was not seriously hurt. postal inspection says there trying to catch more offenders to help with that. they are raising the reward for reporting mail crimes from $50,000. to $150,000 a letter. >> carriers don't wake up in the morning, you know, wondering, you know, if someone's going to stick a gun in their face. so they are being hunted. and these criminals need to be held accountable. >> postal inspectors are also

apologizes for the chemical release from a refinery last november. the incident at the refinery sent 20 tons of ash with chemicals into nearby neighborhoods in martinez. a final report released in september found no toxins in the soil and also in the surrounding area and no health risks. then in july, a substance known as coke dust was released by the refinery. people found what looked like ash on their cars and their homes. contra costa health deemed that material released by the martinez refining company in july does not pose a health risk. the manager says that the company is implementing some corrective actions, including some with equipment. also some having to do with training. >> i do want to say, you know, again, that we do sincerely apologize to our neighbors and community for these incidents. and i know that actions speak louder than words. and you've heard me say this multiple times now and i completely understand. and our commitment moving forward is we are working
