i want to turn now to the weather and we have some rain in the forecast for sunday. spencer christian joins us now for a look at the timing. spencer. >> okay zach, i'm going to show you live doppler seven first so you can see what's headed our way. we've got little spotty patchy showers just off shore approaching the coastline of the north bay. this storm, such as it is, ranks level one on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale. so for tomorrow, we expect scattered showers, slick roadways, breezy conditions and just a slight, slight chance of thunder. here's the forecast animation starting at midnight and we'll take you hour by hour notice by about 4 a.m. we'll have lots of areas of light showers moving onshore, mainly in the north bay and then all the way down to and just south of the golden gate. then by 8 a.m, we'll see more intense downpours and more widespread rainfall. but again, mainly the north bay. but by mid afternoon, it'll be winding down with less intensity in the showers and we'll be left with at least partial clearing by about 8:00 tomorrow evening. i'll show you the rainfall totals and the

complete accuweather seven day forecast a little bit later. >> zach spencer thank you. today was the last day of business for three bay area target stores. san francisco's folsom street target closed its doors a few hours ago and so did the target in uptown oakland on 27th street along with the store and the century plaza shopping center in pittsburg. the company cited retail theft and employee safety as to why the stores were shutting down. and meanwhile, another walgreens is set to close in downtown san francisco this time blocks away from union square. this is some video of the store from earlier this year. according to our media partners at the san francisco standard, the location on geary at the intersection of taylor street is closing november 15th. this is the third walgreens to close in the city in less than two years. in the south bay, san jose mayor matt mehan delivered his first state of the city address. he tackled some familiar issues that he'd like to see the bay area's most populous city improve upon as abc7 news reporter tara campbell tells us, there's a lot to work on.

the peninsula now heads stones at the golden gate national cemetery in san bruno were damaged overnight after a suspected car thief led police on a high speed chase that chase ended with this violent wreck. >> the stolen car plowed through a cemetery fence and overturned into some of the graves. the 23 year old suspect was taken to the hospital to be checked out and then arrested san bruno. police warn adjacent neighborhoods are seeing a spike in thefts and burglaries. well, still ahead on abc seven news at 11, san francisco is looking to rebrand itself. the new campaign officially launched today to build a little pride and bring back tourists. s and it's called 100 faces of oakland, the unique art exhibit that just opened that's looking to build a sense of community and show off what the town has to offer

57 degrees. we've got 63 at oakland, 59 at mountain view, 63 at san jose and mid 50s at palo alto and half moon bay. looking at quiet conditions in emeryville right now, temperature readings in other locations, 53 at santa rosa, 52, petaluma and napa, 57, 60 apiece at fairfield and concord, 58 at livermore and looking across the embarcadero from our rooftop camera, we see calm conditions under only partly cloudy skies right now. but as you can see on the forecast headlines, clouds will increase and showers will arrive overnight. level one storm tomorrow bringing light scattered showers. but we can expect sunny or drier and warmer weather early next week. so looking at the abc7 exclusive storm impact scale, the approaching system is a level one storm. so for tomorrow we'll have scattered showers mainly light, but there could be some brief localized downpours, slick roads, breezy conditions, less than a 10th of an inch of rain expected in most areas. here's a forecast animation. the activity begins to build after midnight. we'll see occasional or widespread showers, i should

say, by about 4 a.m. then between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m, activity gets a little bit more intense, especially up in the north bay, where we'll see more widespread showers. they will be a little bit more, a little bit more intense. some downpours likely there. but then later in the day, by early to mid afternoon, we'll see most of this moving well to our east and it'll all be winding down by the end of the day and into the early evening hourse'll be left with rainfall totals as i mentioned, under a 10th of an inch in most locations. but about 2/10 at half moon bay and up at santa rosa, we expect over 4/10 of an inch. so the north bay is going to be the wettest region from this little system overnight lows will be generally in the upper 50s. high temperatures tomorrow, 64 half moon bay, 69 here in san francisco, right around 70 or 71. in most bay shoreline locations and inland areas in the north bay, only in the upper 60s. but low to mid 70s in other inland areas. and as we look ahead to monday, we'll see a little bit of a warm up under sunnier conditions. but as we go into tuesday, wednesday, midweek, we'll see temperatures

california grapples with an increasingly complex drug overdose crisis and as abc7 news reporter tara campbell reports. now san francisco and los angeles are banding together. everyone from mothers to elected officials trying to find solutions. >> housing first actually originated up here in san francisco from housing policy to harm reduction to policing all up for discussion. it's not just fentanyl now, it's tranq. it's iso. >> los angeles city councilwoman tracy park taking to the streets of san francisco this week. i represent the west side of los angeles, including venice beach, which has been ground zero of the homelessness mental health and addiction crisis in los angeles outside of skid row. fentanyl fueling record deaths in both cities. san francisco on pace for its deadliest year yet amid the drug overdose crisis. >> and they're making a lot of changes in trying some different approaches. and so i'm here to learn what has worked, what

have to have one or the other is a false choice. and back on the streets, the information gathering continues. >> i don't want to repeat the mistakes that other communities have made planning to present her findings to los angeles city council next week, tara campbell, abc seven news. >> 100 days after hollywood's tv and film actors walked off the job, there's now a date for when negotiate sessions will resume. the actors union and studios announced today they'll meet again on tuesday with several studio executives expected to join talks. both sides last met on october 11th, and that's when talks broke off, saying the gap between management and the unions was too great to continue negotiations. one of the major sticking points is streaming with the union asking for 2% of revenue generated by a particular titles to the cast. nearly 55,000 teslas are being recalled due to a potential brake safety issue. the issue affects model x cars from 2021 through 2023, according to the

all right, a colorado judge rejected former president donald trump's move to dismiss a lawsuit that could keep him off the state's ballot. >> his attorneys tried to argue that exercising his free speech protects him from lawsuit. but a judge ruled that this law did not apply in this case. the nonprofit suing claims that putting trump on the ballot in colorado violates the 14th amendment. it blocks anyone from holding office who is engaged in insurrection against the constitution, an spirit airlines remains quiet about why its grounded about 100 of its planes. but the decision is expected to disrupt service for several days. the planes were pulled out of service for inspection, but it's still unclear why those inspections were called for friday. data from the flight tracking website flightaware shows about half of the cancellations are at florida's orlando international airport, which is a base for the airline. spirit says customers should check the status of their flight before going to the airport. well, still ahead on abc seven news at 11 bay area
