mural is more than paint. it's a call to action. >> they're going to be starting a mural if it stops raining, leading some chants and songs for children in and really helping kids understand. and the situation in palestine and especially gaza right now, the artists say they hope the mural will put pressure on california legislators, legislators to call for a cease fire to allow more humanitarian aid to reach those who need it. >> we're hearing more this morning about governor newsom's trip to israel. he went there friday ahead of his trip to china and hong kong. this week, he met with survivors, impacted families and others. in a statement, the governor described a disturbing video that he saw where militants beheaded someone. he said he also met a california woman, shot multiple times by hamas. he also visited with top officials in tel aviv, including the president, prime minister and foreign affairs minister newsom says california is working to send supplies to the region to aid with humanitarian relief efforts. and this morning,

israel says it is stepping up aerial attacks on gaza and it's once again warning civilians to get out of the northern part of the territory. three, the biden administration is asking israel to delay a looming ground invasion. abc news reporter ike ejiochi is live in dc with what's next. ike? yeah good morning. >> the biden administration's request for a delay in that ground incursion comes as over 300,000 israeli troops have been called up and moved closer to the border. this morning, the israeli defense forces stepping up its attacks on terrorist targets, striking a refugee camp in gaza, killing 40 palestina tions, including women and children, according to the hamas run gaza health ministry. elsewhere, israeli fighter jets striking a mosque in the west bank, which israel says thwarted an imminent terror attack. at least two people were killed this drone video showing buildings pulverize ized. a palestinian journalist says he scooped up these two wounded

toddlers, rushing them to a hospital. abc's matt gutman reports what happens next in gaza will unfold in three stages. >> the first will comprise the most intense fighting. that's the invasion of the gaza strip. the second stage is clean up operations, finding remaining hamas cells and weaponry destroying them. the third stage is rehabilitation, restoring essential services in gaza, perhaps a government the biden administration urging israel to delay a ground invasion in gaza in order to allow time for the release of more hostages. >> as israel says, hamas is holding at least 222 hostages, including some american ones. >> i'm scared because because what does that mean? i don't know. where is my daughter? and nobody knows. >> on friday, hamas releasing a mother and daughter from the chicago area. judith and natalie raanan in a deal brokered by qatar. meanwhile the humanitarian crisis inside gaza is growing. people are running out of food, water, medicine and fuel. 51 aid trucks arriving in

near baja, california. it was later downgraded to a tropical storm after moving through western mexico. the national hurricane center says gusty winds are still a possibility today as that storm moves through the region. >> yeah, and some of that moisture right from norma works its way into the south over the next couple of days and will bring several inches of rain to places like texas and louisiana. back here at home, we have some slick roadways this morning in the south bay, just some lingering moisture out there, but the rain showers are done. we're left over with some dense fog in the north bay this morning. here's live. doppler seven along with satellite. you can clearly see that spin in the atmosphere. our low pressure which brought us that rainfall the last 24 hours, now pushing off to the south. and as it does , it will take the cloud cover with it this morning. and the afternoon will feature bright conditions. right now, temperatures starting out in the mid 50s to the low 60s. as we begin your monday morning, here's future weather. we'll go through 10 a.m. and that's when the fog will lift in the north bay. that cloud cover will exit the south bay and we'll see sunnier skies throughout the

hurting three other people in the east bay and happened late saturday at a home in oakley. abc seven news reporter ryan curry talked to people who say they can't believe they're quiet. neighborhood has now been rocked by violence. >> there is a common theme in this oakley neighborhood. what's it like living on the street? quiet. >> it's very quiet street. >> the sidewalks are nicely paved. some homes even have basketball hoops for kids to play. it's a nice suburban street. but that all changed late saturday night. >> there's multiple subjects with gunshot wounds, one shot in the leg and another thinks that they are dying. they were telling someone to stay awake. >> two of them ended up on the front lawn. a girl and a boy. both shot this woman and her family saw it all. you could hear another young man just like screaming, wailing. >> she asked us not to show her face for her safety. oakley police say it was a party gone wrong. four were shot. one of them, a 16 year old, died at the

scene. so frantic you can still see a bowl of chips. someone dropped on the lawn while running away. >> five shots rang out and then kids just started jumping over fences trying to get away. we've seen kids riding their bikes up and down this street. >> others were putting cobwebs on hedges for halloween. coming up, a shooting was the last thing anyone expected. >> everyone's shocked and devastated that this happened at all, let alone here. it's not really what we hear or see in oakley. >> police say the three others injured were taken to john muir hospital. they believe there is only one suspect. people living on this street are left wondering. >> they heard six gunshots. she can see a subject in the driveway shot. how they can return to that quiet, peaceful space. >> hopefully no one experiences anything like this again in oakley, ryan curry, abc seven news. >> happening today, the group that's bought tens of thousands of acres of land in solano county will begin sending a

survey to residents asking for their input on what long term projects should be considered. >> that could include everything from parks to solar farms. flannery associates has said they want to build a new city on 52,000 acres they own near travis air force base. the $1 billion project is sparking big concerns with the city. abc7 news spoke with fairfield's mayor about her worries including widening highway 12 which would cost billions and most of that would come from taxpayers. >> it is unbelievable that they would think that we should pay for infrastructure to build their city if we could afford to widen highway 12, it would have been done already. >> flannery associates is planning to open several offices throughout solano county, so residents can stop by and ask questions about the project. their ceo says he wants the public to be involved. some residents are already voicing to the mayor that they are opposing this concept. >> this this lady wrote, nobody

wants a new city. the last, last three attempts have failed with good reason. nobody wants you here. we like the open space. go away. mayor moye is offering up a whole city block for flannery to develop and show what they can do if they can agree to an equal partnership with the city. >> this morning, the faa is investigating a close call involving an alaska airlines flight at one point. two planes came within less than a half a mile of each other over portland's airport in oregon. the faa believes weather may be to blame because it was storming at the time. an alaska airlines flight coming from southern california tried to land on a runway next to a skyway plane last monday. the alaska plane veered away and aborted its landing. thankfully, no one was hurt. >> new developments in the ongoing screen actors strike in hollywood. sag-aftra and major film studios are agreeing to resume negotiations tomorrow. saturday marked 100 days since the actors union has been on

have a little bit of moisture left over the showers have moved out but dense fog has lingered this morning. we have a dense fog advisory in effect for the valleys of the north bay until 10 a.m. this morning. it is a bright afternoon, a dry afternoon and a mild afternoon later on today. but by the end of the week, cooler air will settle in here. and friday morning we do have the chance of some showers. here's a live doppler seven showing you. it is very quiet this morning after we track those showers last 24 hours, low pressure is moving out, but that fog is an issue. look at petaluma. we're down to zero miles. visibility that's as bad as it gets when it comes to fog. and that's why we have that dense fog advisory until 10 a.m, meaning that fog is going to linger for about the next 3.5 hours. after 10 a.m, the fog will lift, the clouds will move out. and that means we have sunshine for the rest of the day. the afternoon soon is looking very delightful, bright conditions and temperatures mainly in the 70s and low 80s highs today going 73 in oakland, 70 in the city, 78 in napa. after that fog lifts for sunshine. santa rosa going to warm 80 today, 75 in san jose, 78 in antioch overnight tonight

update from the mayor about how things are going. abc7 news reporter suzanne phan spoke to business owners who are a little worried about what could happen in. >> i'm very concerned. >> oasis grill is right across from moscone center, the central site for the apec summit restaurant. co-owner muna zygier says she's concerned the dreamforce conference brought thousands of visitors and boosted her business. but she's worried extra tight security measures for apec will hurt her bottom line. >> now with checkpoints, i don't think anyone will want to go and our my employees, i'm hoping, you know, they can get through, take a closer look at this map. >> according to the secret service and city authorities, this section of downtown san francisco will be locked down around moscone center. this includes the area between market and harrison. second and fifth streets, all the major closures around moscone center run from november 15th to 18th. business owners and residents in that security zone will have to go through screening. >> we need to bring in our

the murder of the board president of a high profile jewish synagogue, samantha wohl was found dead outside her home on saturday morning with a trail of blood coming from inside. loved ones held her funeral yesterday as police continue the search for the person who stabbed her. police say they have no suspects. sam did more for our community, our state, our world, our lives and her short time here on earth than most will ever accomplish in a thousand lifetimes over her state. senator stephanie chang says that the two of them attended a wedding friday, the night before her death. so far, investigators say no evidence has surfaced to suggest this murder was motivated by anti-semitism. >> the search for a man accused of shooting two police officers is underway near nashville, tennessee. as abc news reporter derek dennis tells us, the suspect is the son of nashville's police chief.

>> this morning. two police officers in suburban nashville, gregory kern and ashley bolerjack, are recovering after being shot while responding to a call about a stolen vehicle. the suspect on the run has been identified by nashville's police chief as his own estranged son, john drake junior. the 38 year old described as armed and extremely dangerous. >> our officers were investigating a stolen vehicle during that investigation. they had contact with the subject. they struggled with that subject. and during that struggle, the suspect produced a handgun and fired shots. >> people in the suburb of laverne have been told to shelter in place and stay alert. nashville police chief john drake senior releasing a statement saying, i am shocked and deeply saddened to learn that my estranged son, with whom i have had very minimal contact over many years, is the suspect. despite my efforts and guidance in the early and teenage years, my son resorted to years of criminal activity and is a
