morning. we have great visibility out there. no dense fog to talk about and restore for a lot of sunshine today. but we begin with a wide range of morning temperatures, 30 and our coldest valleys mainly in the 40s and 50s around the bay shoreline to begin your monday, here's future weather. we are going to warm pretty nicely as the day rolls on. we have a lot of sunshine by lunchtime we're going into the 60s, then later on this afternoon we do expect a huge portion of the region to go into the 70s, pretty close to average, if not maybe 1 or 2 degrees above average later on today. so expect a lot of sunshine. it is a cool start this morning. not one of our coldest mornings in the past week, but a little bit of a chill in the atmosphere. we'll hit 72 in oakland today, 71 in the city, 76 in santa rosa. the same in san jose, about 72. in concord, the coastline looking very nice. a lot of sunshine there. upper 60s to the mid 70s. we do have some warmer weather on the horizon. we'll show you that coming up in a few minutes. let's check in with jobina and see how traffic's doing this morning. thank you, drew. >> good morning, everybody. so we are back. this is now week

four of this sigalert on the richmond-san rafael bridge with three lanes blocked in the westbound direction and no wide load vehicles allowed in this area. again, the chp has not confirmed when all of that will reopen. so those issues persist in emeryville showing you a live picture of 8-80. those headlights traveling in the westbound direction towards the maze. no problems reported in that area or at the toll plaza and just a minor delay for our super commuters. tracy to dublin, 33 minutes. kumasi. thank you, jobina a ban on street vendors in san francisco is expected to take effect in just a few weeks, but that isn't sitting well with people who rely on the business today. >> some of those vendors will be reportedly meeting with city officials. abc seven news reporter lena howland in the newsroom this morning and telling us the ban is meant to target vendors with no permits who are selling stolen goods. lena come on. >> c that's right. san francisco supervisor hillary ronen calls the looming ban on street vending in the mission district a necessary emergency measure. ronen says it's come to a point where public works employees are wearing bulletproof vests to work as they regularly deal with

attacks. that's why she's hoping to start with a 90 day ban on street vending in this area. but if it works, keep the ban indefinitely. her office says the goal is to make it easier for public works and law enforcement agencies to make sure that the streets are clear and safe. a legislative aide to ronen said over the next couple of weeks, public works officials will be out talking to vendors, letting them know about the ban. >> so what we're planning to do is to first make sure that we have of alternative spaces for our our street vendors to go to. so right now now we're looking at is probably about two weeks or the middle of november is what we're looking for. the ban to take effect. >> nosotros no tenemos la culpa porque nosotros. we're not at fault. mantenemos todo because this is how we make a living. >> this is how we are able to provide for our families. >> abc seven news reporter lou pena spoke to street vendors about the change. many had no

idea this enforced is about to happen. some asking why they have to pay the price for the group that is not following the rules. the san francisco standard says another meeting will be held to further talk about this plan tonight. tonight, live in the newsroom, lena howland, abc seven news. >> thank you, lena. in the east bay overnight, a bomb squad was looking for possible explosives after a person led law enforcement on a chase that went from san francisco to martinez. it started when witnesses say a man walked into the saint peter's and paul church in north beach yesterday night. abc seven news spoke to the pastor who says an unknown man entered the church to communion and then assaulted a parishioner after he was chased out of the church. san francisco police say they saw the suspect driving away and got into a chase. sfpd tells us the man was throwing suspicious devices out of his car as they followed him through san francisco. so chp then took over the chase going across the bay bridge and ultimately arresting him in martinez, chp says he

didn't throw anything out during their portion of the chase, but they said they did find items in his car when they caught up to him. chp did not say what items were found. no one was seriously hurt and anyone with info is asked to call san francisco police. >> halloween celebrations are getting off to a violent start in communities across the country. in tampa, a shooting left at least two people dead and more than a dozen others hurt. in chicago. at least 15 people were shot at a party, two of them had critical injuries. and in indianapolis, ten people were shot and a woman was killed . and unfortunately, somebody took it upon themselves to inflict injury and pain on members of our community. and it's not acceptable. between friday and sunday, at least 11 people were killed, 76 other people hurt in 12 mass shootings across the country. most of the shootings happened in the early morning hours as large halloween celebrations were wrapping up

with people who live in maine are taking time to mourn. >> less than a week after the mass shooting, there, the goal of the gathering was to lift up those who were left to grieve the victims. more than 1000 people showed up to the vigil last night to remember the 18 people who died and 13 people hurt in maine's worst mass shooting ever. >> why this area? why this many people? why in general? i would love to know why this all happened, because it just doesn't make sense. it really doesn't. >> and we may never know because the shooter, 40 year old army reservist robert card, was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an unlocked trailer at a recycling center where he worked . abc news has learned card continued to have access to weapons despite a so-called yellow flag law in maine, which allows guns to be seized from people who are deemed a threat. last month, the sheriff reportedly sent an alert to other authorities after sources say card threatened to shoot up an army reserve center. >> we paid attention to it, kept an eye on the area. the guy

never showed up down here, never had contact with him? no, nothing. >> the motive for the mass shooting is still under investigation. >> new developments in the war between israel and hamas. israel says its offensive has entered a second stage as it expands air and ground attacks. hamas is also intensifying its airstrikes and jobina israel is now demanding russian officials take action after a mob stormed an airport. >> yes, kumasi an anti-semitic mob reportedly stormed a russian airport targeting passengers arriving on a flight from tel aviv. new video shows the chaos at the airport and the predominantly muslim russian republic of dagestan. russian media reports a mob of hundreds rushed that airport chanting anti-semitic slogans. some made their way onto the tarmac. health officials say more than 20 people were hurt. israel is condemning the incident, pushing russia to, quote, protect the safety of all israeli citizens and jews and act resolutely against the rioters, end quote.

at the israel-gaza border, airstrikes are escalating. the israeli defense forces is dispatching armored tanks in gaza. president biden spoke with prime minister benjamin netanyahu saying, quote, israel needs to defend itself in a manner consistent with international humanitarian law. meanwhile food and water is running low in gaza. the united nations is warning of a worsening humanitarian crisis. the agency says thousands of gazans broke into their warehouses, taking basic survival items, calling it a worrying sign a civil order has started to break down there. israel says it plans to increase the amount of aid going into gaza starting today, but didn't say by how much. >> 508 this morning. here's live. doppler seven along with satellite. we're looking at california and it's really quiet. we have a very nice forecast for the next couple of days. those wins that ushered in the red flag warning over the weekend. they have calmed down. humidity is on the rise. so the

attack on the us capitol. trump and the colorado gop have failed three times to get that case thrown out. trump is not expected to attend the trial. time now is 512. former president vice president mike pence is ending his bid to become president. pence made that announcement over the weekend while speaking at the republican jewish coalition in las vegas. organizers of that event were unaware that pence was announcing plans to suspend his campaign. there were even audible gasps in the audience as he spoke. >> so after much prayer and deliberation, i have decided to suspend my campaign for president effective today. now i'm leaving this campaign. but let me promise you, i will never leave the fight for conservative values and i will never stop fighting to elect principled republican leaders to every office in the land and pence becomes the first prominent candidate to drop out of the race.

being called a freak accident over the weekend. it happened during an english league hockey game on saturday. officials say johnson was involved in a collision on the ice with another player and had a serious neck injury. his team, the nottingham panthers, described him as an outstanding ice hockey player and said everyone at the club was heartbroken. >> time is now. 541 this morning. tributes continue to come in for actor matthew perry. the friends star was found unresponsive at his home saturday. jobina investigators are taking additional steps to try and figure out a cause of death. >> investigators say matthew perry was discovered saturday afternoon on conscious in his hot tub by the time police arrived there, it was too late to save him. officers immediately put up a tent to shield the scene from paparazzi. according to tmz, perry had been in good spirits earlier in the day and had played pickleball at a club nearby. the la county medical examiner finished the autopsy yesterday. it found that no obvious signs of trauma and
