staff reportedly closed windows to drown out the protests happening out front at. good evening. i'm ama daetz and i'm dan ashley. >> thanks for joining us tonight kicks off the busiest stretch of the asia pacific economic cooperation summit and all of the high profile leaders have now landed in town. yes. >> and with that come the protests. >> indeed, we saw hundreds of pro and anti-china demonstrators rallying at sfo as president biden and china's xi jinping arrived. even a rally down in south san francisco, though, at an event attended by the president of the philippines. >> abc seven news reporter tim johns was right there for tonight's large protest going right through the heart of the city. tim >> yeah, dan, i'm a now of all the protests we saw around the bay area today, this one definitely seemed to be the most intense. and the protesters say they're just getting started as the apec summit continued tuesday, so too did the protest shut it down? >> hundreds of people marched down san francisco's market street demanding an immediate cease fire in the israel-hamas war.

>> many people directly blaming president biden for the carnage in the middle east. >> we're here to demand to uplift our demands to biden and let him know that we demand a cease fire. >> now, many of the protesters out here tell us they feel like president biden and other world leaders here at apec aren't listening to that. and because of the summit happening all this week, they feel like this is the perfect time to make their voices heard. tuesday's protest was a part of a larger no to apec movement that has hosted events around the bay area in recent weeks. those marching saying they're determined to apply pressure to world leaders gathered in the city. >> they have no choice but to listen to us. >> frankly, because while they're here are having a party that the whole rest of the city is not invited to. >> we're here in the streets, though. >> a pressure again on wednesday when protesters say they'll attempt to shut down the apec summit. >> if you want to keep the democratic voters on board, you need to start acting like someone whose interest is in human rights. >> in a new video message, san francisco police chief bill scott said while his department supports people's rights to

san mateo county, it's expected to last about four hours. this will be the first time in 12 months the two leaders have spoken to each other. president biden hopes this meeting will strengthen the lines of communication to avoid conflicts between them. >> they've got bilateral issues, they've got regional issues. they've got geopolitical issues that are sources of friction in the relationship. expert say they may talk about tech like tiktok and the role of ai, artificial intelligence in warfare strategies. >> but even more so, us officials are hoping xi and biden's conversation will lead to a joint strategy to address the fentanyl crisis. chemicals used to create fentanyl are exported worldwide from china and an agreement on the future of fentanyl production could be a big win for president biden and the city of san francisco as well. >> before all that, the two countries are agreeing to a landmark climate change deal to ease off of fossil fuels and begin ramping up renewable energy sources. it comes after months of negotiations and

live doppler seven, this is the storm that brought us some showers earlier today and it's going to send another round of wet weather our way as we head into tomorrow afternoon. evening. all is quiet right now on live doppler seven. other than the fog over the next 24 hours. here's what you can expect. a mix of clouds and fog at 7 a.m. 40s, 50s. by the early afternoon. soon the clouds will thicken 3:00 pm. the rain is knocking at our door and moving in, spreading during the evening commute too. we will notice that we get a short breather before another wave comes in on our exclusive storm impact scale. this is a level one storm. tomorrow afternoon, evening light to moderate showers, gusty winds, slick roadways, slight possibility of thunder. a beautiful view from our exploratorium camera. over the last 24 hours. we have had rain, santa rosa, a third of an inch venado up in sonoma county, 8000/500 and trace of an inch in concord with three hundredths in napa. i'll be back to let you know how much more rain you can expect coming up ama. >> all right sandhya, thank you

for between israel and hamas. developing news there tonight. israeli defense forces say they are carrying out a precise and targeted operation against hamas at a gaza hospital. but the hospital also has patients, staff and displaced civilians inside. meanwhile, there's a potential breakthrough with a deal to release more hostages in the next 48 to 72 hours. president biden had this to say to reporters after he spoke with prime minister netanyahu. >> i've been talking with people involved every single day. i believe it's going to happen, but i don't want to get into detail. >> what's your message for the families? >> hang in there. we're coming. >> israeli officials say about 239 israelis are currently held hostage in gaza. >> now, this comes as tens of thousands of supporters marched for israel today at the nation's capital. marchers gathered in washington, dc, calling for the safe return of hostage taken by hamas and to stand against anti-semitism. one berkeley

resident rallied for the return of his friend, one of the hostages taken last month. >> i think the march today is about showing that while we as a community are concerned about hate and fear and anti-semitism, we're not scared. at least ten americans are among the hostages in gaza. >> now to the new developments in the case of that stolen humvee taken from the national guard armory in the north bay after months of hiding the colorfully camouflaged truck was finally spotted and safely recovered. the humvee was first stolen back in july, then located this morning. all the way in jenner before a high speed chase to penngrove, where it was recovered and who knows where the humvee had been in the months before that. abc7 news reporter j.r stone has more on the chase to get it back. >> this previously stolen humvee is now back in the hands of those with the national guard armory in santa rosa. but look at the shredded tires. it was no easy task getting it back from the person accused of stealing. >> it seems he fired a handgun

at a p-g-and-e's truck. >> that was the initial scanner traffic describing the suspect on tuesday, sonoma county deputies later confirmed that they received reports that someone in a camouflage humvee had fired shots at a p-g-and-e's truck in jenner near the russian river and not too far from highway one. fortunately, no one was hurt, but the response from deputies and officers was swift and quick. i got eyeballs on my humvee. >> chp is behind a shots fired suspect vehicle. all drivers 40 to 50 year old male shots fired at a pga truck. >> andrew shapiro took these images, but initially heard the chp pursuit on the scanner. >> i heard a pursuit going southbound for more than 25 minutes. >> officers and deputies pursued the stolen humvee from the jenner area, eventually to penngrove at all sorts of speeds

. i'm back down to 65 miles an hour. >> speeds are about 70 miles an hour, yielding 80mph, approaching 70. >> now, deputies say spike strips were used to stop the man inside thrown out by petaluma police. we got good spikes to flats. >> fujima. all right, driver's out. hands are up. >> law enforcement photos show a gun, ammunition and an old black sabbath ticket found inside the vehicle. sonoma county deputies say the suspect, 34 year old anthony stable, who is transient, was booked on two misdemeanor warrants and multiple felonies. j.r. stone, abc seven news and new at 11, safety alert is being issued over e-bikes in marin county. >> public health officials discovered that in one month the rate of e-bike accidents for kids 10 to 19 years of age was nine times higher than that of adults. the alarming data was discovered when marin county ems services began designating

as it will take between 3 and 5 weeks to make repairs to the ten freeway in downtown los angeles. the ten, also known as the santa monica freeway, serves as one of the city's major arteries with more than 300,000 commuters passing through. it daily. the damaged freeway has crippled the commute for thousands of angelenos and will cause major traffic problems over the next few weeks. >> as you work in a job where you can telecommute, please continue to telecommute. stay on the freeways. follow your apps that will redirect you around.

>> the destructive fire is now being investigated as arson with governor newsom saying the blaze was started with malicious intent at a storage yard underneath the freeway. >> jury deliberations could begin tomorrow in the trial against the man charged with attacking paul pelosi with a hammer. that man, david depape, testified today, breaking out in tears several times. he described his beliefs about hollywood and his attempt to, quote, search for the truth, ultimately showing little remorse for the attack on paul pelosi. he did not reach the bar for a federal insanity defense to perhaps defense team tried to paint the picture that his actions were not motivated by nancy pelosi's role in congress. but the judge says the evidence refutes that. >> a wild day in a congressional committee hearing. a us senator from oklahoma and a union leader almost came to blows as quick. >> the tough guy act in the senate hearings. you know where to find me. any place, any time, cowboy. sir. this is a time.

>> abc7 news meteorologist sandyha patel is timing it out for us. sandy. that's right. >> and ama and dan will get it tomorrow afternoon. evening. so you can hold on to the umbrellas for the time being. let me show you the forecast for tomorrow. so in the morning you don't have to worry about it being wet tomorrow afternoon though, that's a different story and going into the evening. so make sure you have your rain gear at 67 degrees here in the city. thursday scattered showers mid 60s and still unsettled for your friday with some more wet weather coming our way. here's why this area of low pressure has been meandering off the coastline. not in a hurry to leave because it's cut off from the general flow. the jet stream that drives the storms near the surface. it's pretty much cut off and just spinning here. it will send another band of showers our way as we head towards tomorrow. so right now on live doppler seven, i want to take you back in time and show you the wet weather that moved through earlier this morning. we had some wet roadways for the morning commute. and then as the afternoon wore on, the showers

lifted up mostly to the north bay going into the early evening tonight, we are left with areas of dense fog, quarter mile visibility in santa rosa and ukiah. so watch out during the commute temperatures in the 50s and the 60s. here is a lovely view from our sutro tower camera. looking at the golden gate bridge and visibility is good there. not the case. early tomorrow morning, clouds and areas of dense fog in the morning. showers arrive tomorrow afternoon, evening and it's an unsettled pattern as we head into the weekend on our abc seven news exclusive abc7 news storm impact scale tomorrow afternoon. we have a level one storm light to moderate showers, gusty winds, slick roads and there's still a slight possibility of thunder. so we're going to go hour by hour and you will notice the clouds are around tomorrow morning along with the fog at 3:00 pm. the band of wet weather starts to move in along the coastline and then spreads during the evening commute. so this is when it could be a little bit challenging. a 5:00 pm. just be aware of that. you get a breather and then here comes the

next round. thursday mornings just spotty. but here is where i think we'll have the best opportunity for some downpours and isolated thunderstorm chance. it's thursday afternoon going into the evening hours and then the next round comes in as we head towards friday. so rainfall projections are at least taking you into early friday morning, looking at about a few hundredths of an inch to about 6/10 of an inch. but the wetter spots will pick up more rainfall. winds will pick up out of the south, gusting strongest along the coast, 32 miles an hour and half. moon bay at 3 p.m. still pretty breezy in the evening hours. so that's the biggest thing you're going to notice is stronger winds than today. first thing in the morning, fog, you may need a light jacket. 40s, 50s out the door with some cloud cover. and then tomorrow afternoon, windy coastside breezy inland. we are looking at high temperatures in the 60s and 70s. and as we check out the look ahead, that area of low pressure finally will start to approach the coast on friday and move out of the picture. so the rain will taper as we head

towards saturday evening. sierra will pick up rain and snow mix, but the snow level is going to be about 8000 to 8500ft for the next couple of days. accuweather seven day forecast. it's a level one wednesday through saturday. wet and gusty in the pm tomorrow . showers thunder chance thursday still a possibility of thunder on friday and then as we head towards the weekend sunday is dry monday and tuesday looking pleasant just in time for thanksgiving travelers. >> dan okay, sandhya, thanks a lot. new at 11, a silicon valley legend has a massive new project underway and some south bay residents may have already gotten a sneak peek. a giant airship is getting ready for testing at moffett field. abc7 news south bay reporter lauren martinez has the story. three, two, one. >> through the news is out about a massive airship getting ready to take flight over the bay area. its current home is inside hangar one at moffett field in mountain view. >> well, first i'm glad to see the hangar at moffett being used

for something other than just air because those are historic and very important, i think. secondly, i'm delighted to see somebody working diligently on another rigid airship. this thing looks like a goodyear blimp on steroids. >> it's actually double the size of the goodyear blimp. its name is pathfinder one. it's 400ft long and 66ft wide. google co-founder sergey brin's company, lta research, which stands for lighter than air, is behind this prototype type electric airship. we are in a revolution in aviation, aerospace and all ways going to electric as fast as we can. the pathfinder one has 12 electric motors compared motorized flight control and 13 helium bags to provide lift. >> the size of this alone tells me that there's new technology involved in the very structure this is not a hindenburg, not only in terms of using helium instead of flammable hydrogen, but also in terms of using carbon technology as much as possible to keep the weight of the very structure down just
