officials say there's evidence that hamas has been using tunnels beneath hospitals to hide weapons and hostages, as in gaza city. >> they have weapons stored there and are prepared to respond to an israeli military operation against the facility. >> a senior us official calls the tunnels multi-layered and extensive, containing hundreds of hamas fighters who've set booby traps. meanwhile a senior israeli source says progress has been made towards a deal that could free some of the 239 hostages is being held by hamas. the source saying a breakthrough could come. within 72 hours. yesterday an estimated 290,000 people gathered in washington in a march for israel. among them, the family of three year old abigail moore. adan, the youngest of the americans taken captive by hamas. her parents were killed. her family says the toddler crawled from underneath

detroit attending that rally in d.c. yesterday says hundreds of its members were left stranded at dulles airport. it claims the bus driver staged an anti-semitic protest. refer choosing to drive them into the city. but the jewish federation of detroit did not provide evidence and did not name any bus companies involved. >> for the first time in six years, the president of china is visiting the us today, meeting face to face with president biden in a summit in san francisco. biden says one major goal will be restoring communications with china that could include reestablishing direct contact between the us and chinese militaries. the leaders are also expected to announce a deal cracking down on the production and export of fentanyl and trade and taiwan are also on the agenda. abc's jacqueline lee is in san francisco. >> president biden and chinese leader xi jinping are set to meet later today in what is expected to be their first face to face meeting in a year here in san francisco. ahead of the two leaders arrival yesterday,

hundreds of pro-china and anti-china protesters clashed outside the airport. now, later today, we are expecting more demonstrations. >> jacqueline, thank you. the middle east is also expected to be discussed. aides say president biden will urge china to pressure iran to help stop attacks on american troops. >> now to ohio. new information about a deadly crash involving students on a high school band trip out this morning. officials investigating what caused this fiery multi-vehicle crash east of columbus, ohio, that left six people dead, including three teenagers. >> we have heavy fire on the traffic camera and we are being advised that there is children trapped on the bus. >> one of them a semi truck slamming into this charter bus carrying the tusky valley marching band on their way to a performance. students leaping out of the windows and then an explosion on 17 year old samantha basler, a saxophone player, was on the bus. there

was immediate flames from the truck in the back. >> there's different stuff flying up on us and then we realized that that what happened and looked around and there was a lot of kids stuck in seats. >> there was kids under seats. >> of the three teens killed, the youngest was 15. more than a dozen others were taken to hospitals. samantha says she's okay. hey, i just happened to choose the right seats. the charred remains of that bus towed away from the scene. but police confirm at least three other people were killed in a car that was involved in the crash. just heartbreaking. the company that owns the charter bus says it's cooperating with investigators. we're also learning new details about the fire that shut down interstate ten through los angeles. officials now saying the repairs on the freeway could take 3 to 5 weeks. they say the fire was arson, but no word on suspects. now to the threats and insults in the us congress. >> a fistfight nearly broke out yesterday. and at the same time,

shooting of florida state university. professor daniel markel in 2014. now, you were arrested on a warrant from leon county, florida, just one week after markel's former brother in law, charles adelson, was convicted of his murder. markel, 73 year old former mother in law donna adelson, is now under arrest, picked up at miami's airport. police say, with a one way ticket to vietnam. >> she was apprehended on the jetway. she had literally checked in and was walking into the plane. >> the case dates back to a custody battle between markel and his ex-wife, wendy adelson. police say she wanted to relocate their children, but markel refused. that's when investigator say her family initiated a plot that involved wendy's brother, charles, conspiring with hitmen. now, their mother, donna, also faces charges in connection with the plot. investigators say surveil video from 2016 shows an undercover agent confronting adelson, demanding more money

month. the moment too gruesome to show. but during a collision, an opposing player's leg goes up and a skate appears to slice johnson's neck. he later died at the hospital. police announcing an arrest on suspicion of manslaughter, but they have not revealed who was arrested, whether it was that opposing player or someone else, it's a tragedy that, you know, could happen numerous times in a hockey game. >> and thank god it doesn't. >> back in pennsylvania, where johnson also played college hockey tribute to the 29 year old, the penguins forming a circle in the arena, clicking their hockey sticks in johnson's honor, his death already prompting change neck guards will soon be mandatory for hockey players in england. i wouldn't be surprised to see this mandated at the youth levels and college and maybe even pro hockey. the opposing player involved in that collision has been identified as 31 year old matthew pettigrew. he's said to be distraught his teammates say redgrave's leg was in the air because he lost his
