degrees here in the city, 40 in oakland and san jose, 39 in mountain view, 34 palo alto and 48 at half moon bay. other temperature readings right now checking out the traffic on the embarcadero, 31 degrees in santa rosa, 30 at novato, napa 3830. fairfield low 30s at concord and livermore and we have a coastal flood advisory that will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the north bay shoreline and around the bay shoreline because of high tides may produce some localized local flooding. anyhow, highs will get into the mid 60s today, so it will warm up later. more coming back a little bit later. >> reggie spencer, thank you. today another group of hostages held by hamas in gaza is expected to be release, but it would be the fourth group freed since a temporary cease fire started friday. abc news reporter justin finch is tracking the situation and has more on the group released last night. >> this morning, high hopes for the release of even more hostages taken from israel on sunday. 17 more released include

13 israelis and four foreign nationals. a new video showing a red cross motorcade through northern gaza carrying the first american freed four year old dual citizen abigail morejon. aiden's parents were killed during the october 7th hamas attack on israel. her loved ones great to have her back. >> i want to thank everybody for all your love and support hamas releasing 58 hostages so far and filming women and children being ushered to red cross vans bound for israel. >> nine year old emily hand reunited over the weekend with her father, thomas, who feared she was dead. >> she's lost a lot of weight on her face and body, but generally she doing better than we expected. and nearly 200 hostages remain in hamas custody in the west bank. >> crowds celebrating the release of more than 100 palestinian women and teenage boys from israeli jails. president biden reiterating

believe it'll be more about online shopping than actual work. >> i guess that's totally up to you how you do that, because it's cyber monday, the deals are flowing online already. retailers are hoping to cash in on what's expected to be a record setting day. abc seven news reporter ryan curry is live this morning in richmond at amazon's only same day fulfillment center in the bay area. ryan, what's going on there? >> jobina, good morning. it's the early morning hours here at this fulfillment center, but workers are already trying to process those early cyber monday deals that people were already spending money on. there's a good chance that if you bought something from amazon today, it is going to be processed through here, especially if you live in and around the bay area. and yes, it could be a record setting year in terms of spending. retail experts expect consumers to spend around $12 billion online today. that is a 5% increase from last year. now a lot of retailers have started offering big discounts online for several weeks. but today is the day for people buying things

online with high inflation. shoppers are looking for the best deals they can find. budgets are tighter nowadays, so products with heavy discounts will be targeted quickly. it also marks the end of some of those thanksgiving weekend black friday deals that some retailers are offering. but some experts say we will continue to see more details. >> it doesn't just stop on monday. what what we have seen historically and i believe we'll see this again is those sales, those discounts, those promotions will continue right up until the beginning of christmas. >> amazon says they are promising new deals every five minutes throughout the day here on cyber monday, the world's largest online retailer has almost every product you can think of. amazon says the best deals right now are coming. anything from toys and appliances and clothing. of course, that's because those are the things we usually give out during the holiday shopping season. and here's a look of what it currently looks like. workers already hard at work processing those cyber monday deals. you can imagine it's going to be a busy day for a lot

of people in this fulfillment center. and so we're privileged to be able to get here and give you a look of what it's like today. we're live in richmond. ryan curry, abc seven news. let's check out our weather conditions right now. >> we'll start with the forecast headlines for this monday morning. areas of frost and freezing are with us right now. it'll be mostly sunny and seasonably cool this afternoon with chances of rain developing late tomorrow into friday. so it's going to be a week of active weather. right now, we're focused on this frost advisory for the north bay valleys in effect until 9 a.m. temperatures have dropped as low as 33 degrees and frost can kill sensitive vegetation. bear that in mind, looking out over the city from sutro tower, 47in san francisco right now, 40 in oakland, 39. mountain view, pretty chilly everywhere, 34 palo alto looking across the embarcadero from our rooftop camera, it's also 31in santa rosa, right now, 30 at novato and fairfield and napa. the mildest spot in the north bay at 38 and low to mid 30s at concord and livermore. we have a coastal flood advisory that will be in effect from 8:00 this morning until one this afternoon. we've had unusually high tides and

with the high tides this midday hour during the midday hours we may see some localized flooding along the bay shoreline and the north bay shoreline. but it'll be minor flooding. just want to point that out, though, in the afternoon, mainly sunny skies. a few high clouds will be around. high temperatures will range from low to mid 60s for the most part. and looking ahead for this week, we see clouds coming in tomorrow night with a slight chance of some light rain. tomorrow night, but they'll be steadier. rain on wednesday, a cooler rainy with ranking this system on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale. a level one. we may see lingering showers in thursday friday. still unsettled and possibly wet next round of rain on saturday. reggie and jobina, thanks, spencer. >> new allegations against meta. up next, a social media company now being accused of deliberately trying to hook underage users. >> it's been sailing for bay area airports, but not so smooth for others. back east, a look at the winter weather impacting holiday travel for millions across the country. plus.

pope went to rome hospital after experiencing breathing issues. he underwent a ct scan that ruled out pneumonia. the flu was a concern because part of the pope's lung was removed when he was a young man in argentina. >> time now is 513. the accusations this morning against the parent company of facebook and instagram. a new lawsuit alleges menlo park based meta tags targeted children for their data and violation of federal law. and the company's own policies. abc news reporter andrea fujii explains the newly unsealed court documents and meta's response. >> this morning, social media giant meta owner of facebook and instagram is accused of violating federal laws on children's privacy. a lawsuit

now claims 1.1 million kids under age 13 have signed up for instagram since 2019, despite a policy banning kids under 13. and the lawsuit claims knowledge of those accounts is an open secret that is routinely documented at meta. according to the complaint by multiple states . >> meta not only knew that they were recording information and tracking children under the age of 13, but after parents complained they still did little to nothing about it. the legal complaint filed by attorneys general in 33 states alleges instagram coveted and pursued users who were under 13 without parental permission, disabling only a fraction of those under age accounts in response, meta tells abc news we have measures in place to remove these accounts when we identify them. >> however, verifying the age of people online is a complex industry challenge. the allegations are part of a larger lawsuit filed last month claiming meta knowingly used

features on instagram and facebook to entice kids onto the platforms. >> it's one thing for them to have underage kids on their website under the age of 13, in violation of federal law. but once you are notified, you need to do something about it and meta seemed to look the other way. andrea fujii, abc news, new york. >> today is the end of the thanksgiving holiday. travel rush. millions are expected to travel home today. you're looking live at the bay area's three major airports. it is smooth sailing in oakland and san jose. no canceled flights there and sfo is pretty good, too. there have only been a couple of flights canceled, so far according to flightaware.com . there were also some delays at sfo yesterday and traffic backups as people try to get into the airport. abc7 news spoke to some travelers who kept their focus on how special it was to see their families as it was really nice, really happy to see my family again. >> i don't see them often since i'm in school so we hate it

leaving our family so yeah. >> yeah. if i didn't have to leave, i wouldn't. i wouldn't be leaving today. but you know, actually, it's been really, really tame. i mean, i flew out on wednesday and it wasn't that bad. >> preliminary data from the tsa shows that more than 2.8 million people were screened at airports across the country yesterday. that's the most people screened in a single day. and tsa history. so we've been pretty good around here. not so great in other parts of the country. wintry weather has been complicating holiday travel plans for millions of people over the weekend. here's abc news reporter and when millions of americans returning home from their thanksgiving destinations are dealing with travel headaches from bumper to bumper traffic to crowded airports. >> we usually go to the counter, you know, checking our bags real quick. >> but then my husband was like, let's just check them in outside. and we walked in and there's so many people over there. >> airlines for america, a trade association and lobbying group representing the major us airlines, expects an all time high of nearly 30 million passengers in the skies over

this holiday stretch. that's a 9% increase from last year. the tsa says passengers should get to the airport early and pack their patience. >> we did get here five hours early and we can't check our bags yet. >> the tsa adds new high tech x-ray equipment at some airports could make the screening process go a little smoother. despite the large crowds, electronic and 3-1-1, liquids, gels and aerosols are not required to be removed from your bag. >> so it really makes it convenient for when you're going through the actual screening process. >> those driving home can expect to spend some time sitting in traffic. triple a projects more than 55 million people would have traveled 50 miles or more from their homes for the holiday, a 2.3% increase from last year. that's also the third highest thanksgiving forecast since triple a began tracking holiday travel in 2000. drivers are getting some welcome relief at the pump, though. gas prices have continued to drop for the last three months, according to gasbuddy. but the weather is complicating travel on the roads

and in the skies. 11 states from texas to new york seeing weather alerts as a cross country storm brings snow and rain to parts of the country. parts of the northeast dealing with wet weather. while in wichita, kansas, near whiteout conditions. snow creating treacherous driving conditions as the city's airport closing due to the storm saturday. it has since reopened and when abc news washington, some lawmakers on yes one of the most anticipated movies of the year renaissance a film by beyonce premiere over the weekend in los angeles. >> the event was held tightly under wraps. no cell phones were allowed and there were no major details provided before the event started. steven horowitz from variety was inside the theater saturday night. >> sir, you get to perfection. the harder it is to see the process. so i think in a way

livermore up in the northeast santa rosa. now, i mentioned santa rosa tonight, 29 at ukiah. that's the coldest spot right around the bay shoreline, 43 to about 42 degrees in most locations and 36 down in fremont. okay let's move along. take a look at our coastal flood advisory, which will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the bay shoreline and the north bay shoreline. we'll have high tides around the middle of the day, could produce some localized flooding in low lying areas. it won't be very widespread in the afternoon, mainly sunny skies, high clouds, high temperatures will be mainly in the mid 60s around the bay shoreline and on the coast. only low 60s in many inland east bay locations down the south bay. the mildest weather with highs in the upper 60s now this high pressure system, as we look at the satellite radar composite image has been the dominant feature in our weather the last several days, bringing us mainly clear skies and sunny days. but look how active the weather is out to sea. we've got some active and unsettled and wet weather coming our way. so let's start the forecast animation tomorrow afternoon. it'll be fairly calm. then but tomorrow

bay, low 60s in the inland east bay and upper 60s to near 70 down in the south bay. jobina >> thank you, spencer. good morning, everybody. we are going to begin with a live look from the richmond-san rafael bridge where we are in week eight of this ongoing sigalert. we have three lanes blocked in the westbound direction and no wide load vehicles allowed in that area. and live picture here in oakland showing you our 8-80 at the coliseum. cameras incredibly light for people traveling in the northbound direction and where you see those headlights traveling off to the left hand side is the southbound direction of traffic. we will end here with a look at our drive times and everything is pretty much clear that tracy to dublin time remaining about the same around 47 minutes today. >> the man arrested in connection with the shooting of three palestinian students in vermont is expected to make his first court appearance. 48 year old jason eaton was arrested yesterday. police say he approached the three students saturday night outside an apartment building and started shooting. an attorney representing the students believes the attack could be a hate crime because the men were wearing palestinian scarves and

some of those passengers are even out of a home. but first to check on the weather with spencer. >> okay, reggie, we'll start with a look at our satellite radar composite image. high pressure has been controlling our weather the last several days, bringing us mainly clear skies. it's weakening and moving out, being replaced in the next couple of days by lots of active weather out to sea. it's very unsettled. lots of clouds and showers coming our way. that'll be later in the week, though, right now, we're looking at a cold morning all around the bay area, especially in our inland areas where temperatures are still down in the 30s. in most spots near the bay, 40, 41 degrees right now. and on the coast, 52 degrees in half moon bay, that's our warm spot. by the time we get to midday, we'll be having unusually high tides right around the golden gate, which may produce some localized flooding around the bay shoreline and the north bay shoreline. so for this area, a coastal flood advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. moving along to the afternoon hours after this cold morning. it will be a relatively mild afternoon. sunny skies, high clouds and high temperatures in

the low to mid 60s on the coast, mid 60s around the bay shoreline . inland east bay will be relatively cool, only low 60s there. upper 60s down in the south bay. now let's look ahead to that active weather. i told you it's coming our way. here's our forecast animation starting tomorrow at noon. by tomorrow evening, we'll probably see some light rain moving through with that first wave of rain which will continue into wednesday. then late wednesday, a little bit of a break, then another waves of wave of rain comes in on thursday. that'll continue into friday. and even the weekend is looking a bit unsettled at this point. so it's going to be a very different week from what we had last week. as you look at the accuweather seven day forecast, the lingering the lingering clouds, the wet weather, the unsettled weather will begin late tomorrow and continue all the way into the

anniversary in san francisco. it's been 45 years since the assassin of supervisor harvey milk and mayor george moscone. both were shot by supervisor dan white at city hall on november 27th, 1978. harvey milk was the first openly gay politician in the city. george moscone is remembered as the people's mayor. their deaths will be honored tonight with a candlelight vigil in san francisco's castro district. the event starts at 7 p.m. at harvey milk plaza with a performance by the san francisco gay men's chorus. the abc seven originals documentary murder at city hall is now available on demand. it tells the story of what led up led up to the murders of moscone and milk in 1978. the wild trial and the twinkie defense. download the abc seven bay area app wherever you stream to watch that. >> we have a lingering morning chill here in the bay area. as a matter of fact, a frost advisory remains in effect for the north
