which he deserves. but as this process continues to drag on, there are starting to be real doubts as to whether williams will play in week one. head coach kyle shanahan says there is no absolute deadline day as far as he's concerned, saying it's very similar to nick bosa last year who signed the week before, barely practiced and played week one. >> we'll let it be as close as possible, but we just got to we got to get with them. we got to see him. we got to talk to him very similar to how we were with bosa. there wasn't a day that we would put on the calendar. that would be our last day. it's you hope it's every day that's already passed. so each day makes it harder and harder. but you don't really make that decision until you see someone talk to him. trent's a fantastic player. >> he's a tremendous leader on this team, i will never fall short on my praise of trent and what he's meant to this place. it was a great day, you know, when i got that call from rivera saying that that they would do that trade, and he's been incredible since he's been here. so we value trent. we love

trent. we want trent here. and i'm hopeful that can happen soon. >> let's get it done, boys. >> now to the warriors. and this is how you do a contract extension in 2024. you asked stephen curry how much he wants to make. he says the max and you give it to him. in this case, it's a one year extension worth $62.6 million. curry has two years left on his current deal worth 55.8 and $59.6 million. the additional year will keep curry under contract through the 2026 2027 season. steph mentioned this summer that he wanted to remain a warrior for life, and this will take steph up to the age of 39. you saw it here on abc seven, usc and lsu in las vegas. usc's kyron hudson with the early candidate for coach of the year right here. it was reviewed and the call stood. >> what a grab. wow. i'm still in awe over it. >> tied at ten at the half now

the rest of the fam to see it, and this is what they saw. darren made his debut as a pinch hitter in the ninth, smacked the first pitch he saw right back up the middle for a hit. how about that? a proud mama, proud papa. darren said his dad tried to play it cool when he told him, call my mom first and she was screaming and stuff and i called my dad. >> he tried to play it cool uh. but you know, i know he was excited. i mean, i didn't need an alarm today, but but right when i woke up, i kind of just, you know, it felt like another day at first, i think kind of. when i drove over here, it said end of. you know, it's my first day as a major leaguer. >> we are cheering for you. this abc seven sports report is sponsored by river rock casino. a reminder that you can watch all our newscasts live and on demand through the abc seven bay area connected tv app. it's available for apple tv, google tv, amazon fire tv and roku. download the app now and start
