there. and we've got mid to upper 50s in our inland east bay locations. here's a view from our rooftop camera looking across the embarcadero. our forecast headlines are these next few days. it's going to be cooler and breezy to gusty. so it's going to feel rather fall like. and of course the misty mornings. we have one today already. misty mornings will be with us with patchy coastal drizzle for the next few days. so this is a fall like pattern we're in right now. we will experience below average temperatures for the next several days. let's take you through the forecast animation for today. we've got lots of drizzle out there right now. it's not going to go away very quickly over the next few hours. up to about midday or so. they'll still be patchy drizzle. some of it moving onshore, but we'll see skies getting brighter and brighter and the clouds that are lingering will get thinner and thinner as we get into the afternoon hours. so here's a look at our high temperatures for today over in the inland east bay, only up to about 80. upper 70s to 80. in the warmest spots. so you can see it's cooling down upper 60s to low 70s around the bay shoreline. and we'll have a further look into the week ahead later. but

right now, traffic with amanda. >> yeah. good morning spencer. our south beach cam showing you a quiet and calm drive across the bay bridge here at 502. that story is the same across the bay area. our overall map only showing that typical slowdown along the altamont pass. but really nothing in your way. this morning, san jose, 101 880 overcrossing. same thing. cars are filling in in the northbound direction, but really not that much. and then our drive times, i'll leave you with 47 minutes. is that typical slowdown from tracy to dublin, 16 minutes from dublin to mission boulevard south and another 16 minute drive to take you from 101 to cupertino. let's get back to the desk and we're going to start with the live look from philadelphia this morning. >> this is the national constitution center, where the stage is set for tonight's presidential debate. this abc news debate will be the first and potentially only time vice president kamala harris and former president donald trump face off before election day. vice president harris landed in philly last night. former president trump is set to arrive sometime today, with polls still showing a tight race. tonight's

debate could have a major impact. >> those undecideds, it might. it's a marginal group. it's a it's a small group. uh. but, you know, this election is going to be a marginal election. it's going to be decided by a small amount of votes. >> both candidates are going in with significant new endorsements. harris from members of the cheney family, longtime and staunch republican, and trump from the national fraternal order of police. vice president harris says she expects trump to lie and revert to personal attacks, so she is preparing to respond to that. trump is not prepping with mock debates. instead, he's holding informal policy sessions with a small team of advisers. you can watch the presidential debate hosted by abc news right here on abc seven. our coverage begins at 5 p.m. and stick with abc seven for local reaction and analysis on abc seven news at 11. >> google is facing another antitrust lawsuit that could break up the company. the justice department argues google has built a monopoly in

lucrative technology that delivers online ads. both sides made opening statements yesterday before a judge. this is the second federal antitrust trial against the mountain view based company. last month, the judge ruled google illegally held a monopoly over its internet search. >> more than 100 current and former employees who work for i companies are calling on governor newsom to sign a bill regulating the technology. the bill made it out of the state legislature late last month. state senator scott wiener of san francisco authored that bill. it would set up numerous regulations for companies that spend more than $100 million to develop ai. governor newsom has, until the end of the month to sign or veto it. >> the justice department says it's uncovered a plot to incite a, quote, race, war and amanda. authorities have arrested suspects allegedly part of the white supremacist group plotting attacks. >> kumasi a federal indictment claims one man from california and another from idaho are the leaders of a white supremacist group looking to ignite that, quote, race war. 34 year old

dallas humber of elk grove and 37 year old matthew allison face more than a dozen federal charges, though those charges are related to a chat group on the social media platform telegram. telegram has been criticized for what has been described as its relaxed approach to content moderation. the group, which refers to itself as terror graham, allegedly directed its members to commit hate crimes against black and jewish people, immigrants and people of the lgbtq plus community. the indictment also claims the group plotted to kill high value targets, including a u.s. senator, and incited followers to carry out terror attacks around the world. >> chilling part is that some of these attacks, according to the justice department, have already been carried out, including a man in slovenia who killed two people before taking his own life. a man in turkey who stabbed five people, and a new jersey teen who the fbi says plotted to attack the power grid. >> and the indictment claims humber posted pictures of the

2016 pulse nightclub shooting in florida as an example of what members could carry out. the two suspects are in custody awaiting a court date. back to you, reggie. >> amanda. thank you. happening today. the teenager accused of shooting forty-niners rookie ricky pearsall during an attempted robbery is due in court today. and this comes after a heartfelt reunion at last night's home opener between pearsall and first responders, who helped him. abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez at levi's stadium this morning in santa clara. gloria. the two women were celebrated as heroes. >> reporter they were reggie and the niners are celebrating a commanding win after an incredible game. but the real spotlight last night was on a police officer and a surgeon on the football field. check out this footage right here. it was a very powerful moment as 40 niners rookie wide receiver ricky pearsall reunited with two women who helped save his life just over a week ago. we're talking about doctor lucy kornblith, a surgeon at san

francisco general hospital, and sergeant joel harrell, the officer who heard the shots and ran to help near union square. harrell, a longtime officer who once patrolled candlestick park, now visiting levi's stadium for the first time at the niners invitation. i'm just thankful. >> the outcome. i'm thankful he listened. that was a big part of it. him being an athlete, him being used to coaching, it all came together and people like that in my life. >> pearsall just days after taking a bullet through the chest. saying thank you to the women who helped him through it. he gave each of them signed jerseys. pearsall is out for at least three more weeks, though he told them monday night football crew that he felt amazing, like he could be back on the field right now. and the 17 year old suspect accused of shooting him in an attempted robbery is due back in court this afternoon. abc seven has learned that he took a gun to school in the week of that

from this angle. 54 degrees in santa rosa right now. mid-fifties. also at petaluma, napa, fairfield, concord and livermore are in the upper 50s, closing in on 60 degrees. it's going to be warming up a little faster in the inland areas in the east bay than anywhere else. these are our forecast headlines for the next few days. look for breezy to gusty conditions and cooler than it has been of late. we will have more misty mornings coming our way with patchy coastal drizzle over the next several mornings. and this fall-like pattern with below average temperatures is going to take us through the next seven days at least. so this afternoon, look for high temperatures under partly cloudy conditions, upper 70s to about 80 degrees in the inland east bay. down in the south bay, san jose will top out at 78 degrees around the bay shoreline, 69 at oakland 72, san mateo 66. here in san francisco and up in the north bay. we'll see highs ranging from mid to upper 70s. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast. it gets breezier and gustier tomorrow it will be the windiest day in the forecast future. friday it warms up a little bit. then temperatures

acres burned in orange county's trabuco canyon in a fire that was sparked yesterday. public works crews started it by accident, trying to prevent access to dangerously dry brush. 1400 homes got evacuated and in san bernardino county, thousands are still under evacuation because of the lion fire, and more are prepared to leave after

seeing flames and the air gets bad. >> we're probably going to head down. hopefully it will just burn up the ridge and our little community will be free from flames that are nearby. >> big bear valley is under evacuation warning because of the fire. it spread to more than 23,000 acres and the temperatures are scorching. 36,000 structures are threatened. so far, no homes have burned in the north bay. >> some evacuation orders have been scaled back to warnings near the boyles fire after about 4000 people were told to leave on sunday. it's burned 81 acres in lake county. crews are gaining some control, though the blaze is now at 40% containment. firefighters say more than 30 homes have been lost. about 40 to 60 vehicles destroyed. rescue crews are searching the burn area for all the missing pets and posting the ones they are able to find. clear lake animal control has reunited some families thanks to microchips and hope for many more. >> and now to a different fire

that is burning just across the state line near reno. it's causing poor air quality across the sierra. amanda. there are evacuations and concerns. the conditions are about to get worse. >> reggie a red flag warning is in effect today and tomorrow, raising the fire danger even higher. now, nevada's governor declared a state of emergency yesterday to bring more resources to help fight the davis fire. the fire is burning out of control just south of reno, between davis creek regional park and the mount rose ski lodge. so far, 5000 acres have burned and four buildings have been destroyed. the national guard says it has three helicopters in the air, and nevada guardsmen captured this video from a black hawk chopper before performing a water bucket drop over the weekend. and then we want you to check this out. at least a dozen horses trying to escape the flames in southern reno. there are power outages in that area, and up to 14,000 people are under evacuation

control elegantly blends hardware and software. >> when you click, it launches the camera. >> some of the features shown at monday's event were previewed at apple's worldwide developers conference in june, and the stakes for apple have been high, with the company coming into the ai game later than others. many have looked to apple's jump into ai as an opportunity for it to improve iphone sales. many of the apple ai functions announced will be part of the newest update to ios 18. the new smartphones will be in stores september 20th. tech expert marc vena said monday's announcements could take some time to really motivate the average person to go out and buy the latest model. >> i think it's going to be it's going to require some type of killer application that may not have been, may not even be available yet, or something that, hey, i have this phone, i have this capability, and i can do something on it that i can't do on previous models. >> apple also announced new models of its apple watch and airpods each boasting capabilities that can help improve health and fitness. the newest iphones coming to stores later this month will cost between 800 to $1200. in silicon

from the first ever presidential debate between vice president kamala harris and former president donald trump. abc news is hosting the candidates at the national constitution center in philadelphia. and that's where we find abc news reporter christiane cordero, who's joining us live with what we can expect tonight. good morning. reporter >> hey there. kumasi, good morning to you. from a pristine national constitution center. you know, tonight's debate is an opportunity for both candidates to speak directly to voters while standing directly across from their opponent for the first time ever. vice president kamala harris has arrived in philadelphia. how are you feeling? and at one of the most consequential days of her political career, in just hours, she'll stand six feet apart from former president donald trump, their campaign trails intersecting on a debate stage for the first time ever. trump expected to arrive later today for what will be his seventh presidential debate. >> i just can't wait for this debate to help american citizens decide on who to vote for.

>> thank you. gloria. a business in the east bay is asking for help after an unusual theft. the owner says someone broke in friday night and stole two exotic birds that are worth thousands of dollars. amanda is at the live desk with how the owner is responding to this bird napping. >> yeah, kumasi, the owner of feathered follies in concord, says someone broke in and stole her beloved pet bird, tofu. now, tofu has lived there since 2010 and is worth an estimated $2,500. in addition to taking tofu, the thief or thieves took another pet bird, plato, who was being boarded at the store. mercedes kemp tells us, whoever did this broke a window and then went straight into the room where the birds were. she showed us what she believes is a handprint on tofu's cage and a bloodied feather found on the ground. she thinks someone familiar with how to handle birds is behind the theft. >> i truly hope that it's just as simple as someone wanted him and has him, or that they want to sell him and flip him if anything happened to him

permanently. i don't know how i'd cope with that. >> kemp has started a gofundme to help raise money to offer as a reward for anyone who is able to get the birds back. she says she is working with the concord police department to bring both birds home. back to you at the desk, reggie aqui. >> amanda. thank you. new developments regarding the controversial bike lane running down the center of valencia street in san francisco. the redesign, now in its final stages. we have been following this story for many months now. sfmta has been coordinating with business owners on valencia about moving the bike lane closer to the sidewalk to make that happen. each business owner with a parklet will have to choose either they can keep their parklet next to the sidewalk with the bike lane closer to cars, or push the parklet out and allow the bike lane to run right next to the curb. option two would mean the parklet will take up space that could be for parking. >> that has been one of the big
