8:03 pm
>> kirk: we just talked about, you know, this kid is going to escape, so, you put pili in the middle. he's kind of in coverage, but really, his eyes are on the quarterback, mirroring him. got to keep an eye on him. can't let him run for that first down. so, really nice job by the veteran there in the middle of playing some coverage, but mainly having his eyes on that threat of him getting out of there. and there was nowhere for him to go. >> chris: so, a quick three and out. only positive news for arkansas, they only spent 1:18 on that drive. and bale punts it away. gets a good bounce. so, pretty good job of flipping the field, rolls dead all the way at the 20 yard line, about a 56-yard boot. kevin? >> collisihris, kirk's morning d in berkeley on "college gameday." they're finally playing the game. power up the gut there. 7-0, canes. kirk brought up michigan losing to washington -- not big ten is

playing a half field. really smart, great play by singletary. >> chris: white went out. didn't have mccoy or thornton in the game on that third down. so, the top targets not available, and now, another punt. and sategna almost had the ball knocked away. 43-yard punt. he got five back. and what can you do if you're malachi singleton? they have better field position, kirk. field goal gives them the lead. >> kirk: just talked about that big third down, and how important it was, because maybe you get the ball around the 30 or 40, and that's where they have it. at their own 41 yard line. there's no reason to hurry. there's no reason to panic. you need about 20 to 30 yards, and you got all three time-outs, you have a two-minute time-out. you just got to get -- execute and try to get a first down. try to get some confidence right now established. run the football behind the big man, but right now, we got russell in the game.
8:09 pm
>> chris: they need about 30 yards, again, the starting kicker is out injured. singleton finds a man underneath, and the catch is made by sategna, who weaves into tennessee territory. that's a promising start. >> kirk: nice, easy, quick throw for him that time. set up that jailbreak screen. good job after the catch zigzagging through that vols defense, and he gets his first first down since he's been inserted. >> chris: back to the ground with russell, who's got a kraes. big fella running into the secondary, and the freshman knocked down at the 22. 24 yards for the 253-pounder. >> kirk: blackstock makes a good block right here. watch the right tackle with a kickout block. and with only one linebacker, there's no one left there. pretty good effort by 2 that
