one. yeah, yeah, yeah, we're getting there, we're getting there, we're getting out of this heat today. slowly. we still have an excessive heat watch, but that is replaced by our excessive heat warning. so it's downgraded and it's been lifted along the coast we're seeing elements of change already with temperatures dropping off into the 50s along the shoreline. it's still going to be hot and above average inland. and we will see temperatures perhaps flirting with records again today, but this system will cool us off for the first half of the week. and then we're looking at another system that will allow for even cooler weather by the end of the week. maybe some showers and breezy winds kicking up as soon as tomorrow. right now it is mild to warm out there. 76 in san rafael. looking at 60s from the peninsula, mid 60s in vallejo. it has certainly not cooled off night after night. but as we get into the afternoon, the winds kick up along the coast. so this is an indicator and the direction of the winds to allow for the cool down today. so by the late day we're at 25 miles an hour. and
6:19 am
then even a breeze inside the bay. a cool breeze, not a warm breeze. and then as we get into your tuesday, the winds continue to build and so does the marine layer. and so we'll wake up to that patchy fog. and in fact, temperatures coming down a bit below average as we get towards wednesday. so some low 90s for your tuesday notice we're back into the 60s at the shoreline 70s today and then into wednesday mid and upper 80s. looking at thursday, temperatures down into the low 80s. so certainly doing a 180 by the second half of the workweek. and so these systems in the pacific northwest pretty progressive pretty reminiscent of fall and so as we go through the second half of the week, that system is going to sink to the south. and that could allow for some showers into the bay area on saturday 93 today in santa clara yesterday it was 103, in san jose, 94 today still with an excessive heat watch on the peninsula. upper 80s to about 90. so that's cooler with the sea breeze. 84 downtown up

in the north bay. we're in the mid to upper 90s. another warm day for you. and on the bay shore we won't have that 100 today in oakland. how about near 90 in inland will be in the triple digits but not as hot as yesterday. the accuweather seven day forecast looking at temperatures moderating tomorrow the fog returns the marine layer builds, it cools, and we could be looking at some showers. but sunday looking like the sunnier and drier day for next weekend. >> all right lisa thank you. now let's turn to ginger zee. she's live in redington shores, florida with a look at what's coming up on gma. >> ginger i'm sure you have an important message this morning. i cannot believe this is happening again. so soon. >> again into this same area. reggie aqui amanda i'm standing on a street, one of so many here around tampa bay that still is lined with debris up and down. i mean, they have not been able to not only take a breath or a res, they're exhausted, but they haven't been able to clean up and now this was from the record storm surge of helene in less
