noon. the movie starts at 3 p.m, so there is a whole lot going on here in the bay area as people are really celebrating halloween this weekend. so let's get a look at the forecast with meteorologist frances dinglasan. >> yeah, and luckily the weather is cooperating for all the events happening today. i know a lot of folks are also heading to castro. they're celebrating halloween this weekend. it's going to be dry for the most part. we do have a chance of sprinkles tomorrow, but most of us won't get much rain at all, so we'll take a look at live doppler seven and satellite radar image. so the system to our south is going to bring us some high clouds starting later on today. and then that system to our north that's going to drop in overnight and bring us the chance of some showers right now, though, clear skies over most of the bay area. and that means some cooler temperatures, especially in the north bay, where it's pretty chilly in sonoma, only 40 degrees right now. santa rosa 43. also saint helena and napa 42. and then around the bay, san mateo 49.
6:20 am
but we're seeing some low 50s like in hayward, san jose 53, san francisco 54 degrees. as we show you this view from mount sutro. so today, temperatures will still be mild. a little bit cooler there though compared to yesterday. and we're going to see a mix of fog and clouds. clouds will increase throughout the day and into this evening. then tomorrow we have the drizzle and spotty showers, but i'll show you it won't really amount to much for most neighborhoods. then next week as that onshore breeze returns, we'll see crisp fall sweater weather for our forecast. so for today, if you're heading to san ramon for the east bay walk to end alzheimer's and joining our leslie brinkley, it's going to be really pleasant. temperatures will be in the mid 50s for 9:00. so cool. when the walk starts at 6 to 10:00 will be in the 60s by 11:00 in the upper 60s, and even by lunchtime already really mild in the low 70s. and then for here, i want to show you the satellite radar image and what you can expect. so here's this system. this is what's going to
6:21 am
bring us the chance of some light drizzle tomorrow. as we show you the futurecast, you'll notice we'll start to see increasing clouds throughout the day. and then tomorrow morning, mostly dry for everybody. but see these pop up little showers here and there, mainly affecting the north bay. in fact, the latest models really don't show much rain at all for everybody unless you're north of santa rosa. like ukiah getting nine hundredths of an inch. and maybe we could get a few hundreds here and there, but most areas will be dry. you'll just notice some slightly cooler temperatures, even tomorrow. so today's highs will be in the 60s and 70s near 80 in some spots for inland areas like livermore and san jose. san francisco 69, oakland 73. really comfortable in san rafael and santa rosa at 78 degrees. and then tonight, with increasing clouds, temperatures will be milder in the 50s and even near 60. like fremont 61, san francisco 58. also, we are tracking a slight chance of rain

11 months i would be down to a tent or my car because my savings would be gone. >> now he's resorting to finding a roommate. jason posted this ad on craigslist. $250. harry potter cubby for very cheap plus light chores. >> it's about what i need to be able to afford the rent, you know, and i'm not blackstone. i don't want to charge people for profit. i just want to be able to live in, not a tent. the craigslist ad has been posted for a month, and on november 1st, his first potential roommate will visit. >> jason says you won't just have access to the harry potter cupboard, but there's no restrictions on cooking, internet, kitchen, bathroom or gaming space. >> one of the places i looked at on craigslist for $600 was someone's partitioned off living room with sheets, and they had restrictions on bathroom usage. like you can only go between 6 and 7 a.m. or eight and 9 p.m, jason said. >> also mentions he liked to rent it out to a nice, nerdy gamer. >> it's just sort of a

culturally shared experience that, you know, goes between race and creed and religion. it could be rock collecting or digging up dinosaur bones, as long as there's some sort of nerd or geek, i'm okay. >> and if our video doesn't quite capture the magic of what could fit here, the area is roughly three by ten feet in san jose. lauren martinez, abc seven news. >> three by ten feet. all right. well, we got a big weekend that we're kicking off right now. let's check in with frances. >> all right. we are starting off with clear skies this morning. it's beautiful out there from mount tam. as you can see, the orange and purple in the sky before the sunrise. but increasing clouds today will mean cooler temperatures and a chance of sprinkles tomorrow. >> frances. thank you. also next, an epic start to the world series. freddie freeman and the dodgers making history in la. abc seven sports director larry
6:46 am
we have a couple systems affecting us. we're going to see some clouds from the south, some high clouds moving through this afternoon. and then this system will drop in overnight, bringing us a chance of sprinkles tomorrow. but for right now it's really pretty. as we look from our exploratorium camera. winds are light. the water is calm. today we'll see a mild temperatures with a mix of fog and clouds increasing by this afternoon and this evening. then tomorrow, drizzle and some spotty showers possible. and then next week, crisp fall sweater weather so temperatures will be closer to average. here's a futurecast animation. so notice we'll start to see more clouds even during the morning hours. and then tomorrow morning is when we could see a spotty shower. you'll see the areas of green there, but in these latest runs we're not even getting much showers at all. not even much for the north bay. so. and ukiah might get nine hundredths of an inch, clear lake one hundredths. and you'll
6:47 am
notice many areas will be dry around the bay area. although we could get one hundredths of an inch or so in a few areas. if we get some of those spotty sprinkles around the bay area. so temperatures today will be a little bit cooler, but still very comfortable in fact, inland areas near 80 degrees 80 in livermore, concord, antioch, fairfield 79, san jose 80, and then in the north bay, very comfortable as well. temperatures in the upper 70s for santa rosa and san rafael, san francisco 69 degrees. oakland at 73 degrees and look for mid 70s in fremont and in palo alto as the clouds increase tonight, temperatures will be milder. tomorrow morning will be dropping into the 50s, but even still hanging on to some 60s like fremont, 61, san francisco 58. so if you are going out tonight, temperatures will stay in the upper 50s by midnight and into tomorrow morning. and then oakland, san mateo, 59, san rafael, 54 degrees. now we're
6:48 am
going to jump ahead to halloween because we are tracking a slight chance of rain. but right now, looks like the rain will fall during thursday morning. so that's good news for some trick or treaters. so 6:00 in the morning we could see some light rain, but then notice it really tapers off and then dry for the afternoon and evening for trick or treaters. so here's the accuweather seven day forecast. enjoy the mild temperatures today, but we will see some fog along the coast, increasing clouds throughout the day. and evening. but it will be dry for the most part for tomorrow. even though we could get some drizzle and a few light sprinkles. monday, the chance lingers. although temperatures will be cooler and it will feel definitely more like fall next week. and then we'll keep you posted on that very slight chance of showers for halloween. looks like it will happen mostly in the morning, so trick or treaters will be safe. and then friday partly cloudy for dia de

los muertos. >> zach francis thank you. the la dodgers and new york yankees took the field at dodger stadium in game one of the world series, and it was an exciting game, decided in the 10th inning by california's own freddie freeman. here's abc seven sports director larry beil. >> good morning everybody. an absolutely epic game, one of the world series that will have giants fans grimacing because you got the yankees with aaron judge, whom the giants tried to sign against the dreaded dodgers in this game, decided by the first walk off grand slam in history. and all the stars come out in la for this one at dodger stadium. john legend and the harbaughs their top six one nothing l.a. john carlos stanton wow. mammoth two run moonshots left way out two one yankees. bottom eight mookie betts tying run at third. that's a game tying sac fly, and we are knotted at two apiece. top nine gleyber torres comes within a foot of giving the bronx bombers the lead, but a fan reaches out over the fence to make the catch. he wants a souvenir.
6:50 am
that's interference. so it's a double, not a home run. and the yankees ended up not scoring in the inning. top ten yankees met at the corners anthony volpe infield single. jazz chisholm scores three two yankees. the dodgers, though, will not go down easily. two on one out for shohei ohtani. swings at the first pitch from nestor cortez. alex verdugo. this is incredible diving catch. he flips into the stands that is downright jeter esque. now they choose to walk mookie betts to face freddie freeman. bad choice because that is a bomb. freeman takes the first pitch and just crushes it. first ever walk off grand slam in the world series. dodgers take the series opener six, three and ten. remember, kirk gibson's game one walk off against the a's took place in almost the same spot 36 years and ten days ago. let's get to some hoops. warriors and jazz. dubs wanted to trade for lauri markkanen, but he stayed in utah. de'anthony melton. trace jackson davis on the pick and roll for the dunk. davis six of six on the night. warriors playing great defense. steph curry to buddy hield to jonathan

was a little kid. i remember reading about the blue room and the seances and the ghosts. so. and i've loved scary stuff since i was a little kid. >> the fun scares come alive during halloween. this year's theme unhinged hotel to see every uh- everyone here dressing up and just the fog that they put on and just the ghoulies who hide in the corners and freak you out. so why do we love being scare? is it the adrenaline rush? the camaraderie? >> let's go see i think that it just it's just about the thrill and the excitement and like feeling those rushed emotions just sometimes gives us more life. >> anastasia gunina, dressed as lydia deetz from beetlejuice, just finished her tour. >> i thought it was really, like, realistic and it was creepy, but also funny, and it felt so real. it felt like i was in a horror movie. >> sprawling over 24,000ft■!s, e house is known to be a

labyrinth. it includes 160 rooms, six kitchens, and 17 chimneys. staircases lead to ceilings and doors open to wall. richard jacobsen visits every year. does it spook you out a little? no. tickets range around 70 to $100. but everyone we heard from said they're worth it. over the past 101 years, the house has hosted 13 million guests in a terrifying but entertaining kind of way at the winchester mystery house. lauren martinez, abc seven news. >> and you see that actor walking past there. lauren said she didn't know they were going to be actors. i was talking to her about this yesterday, and she said she was grabbing the representative who was giving them their tour and a photographer. she was scared doing that story, so she worked hard to bring you that. >> yeah, that is not for me. that is too scary. also, i'm wimpy, but you don't need to be wimpy for the weather, right now. temperatures are on the

cool side though, so we're seeing some 40s and 50s. and then this afternoon it's going to be mild, although we will see increasing clouds. near 80 for inland neighborhoods around the bay. look for 70s and even some upper 60s. san francisco will be 69. oakland 73, san jose 80 degrees. now, because of those increasing clouds, that's the system heading our way. and that's going to bring us a chance of a few sprinkles. right now, the latest models really don't show much wet weather at all. so most of us will be dry. but cooler weather is on the way. you're going to want to grab your sweater next week. temperatures will be closer to average and then we are tracking another slight chance of rain. halloween looks more likely during the morning hours for trick or treaters will be safe and then hopefully dry for dia de los muertos as well. >> if we can just pass those couple of days will be good. yes, frances, thank you so much. and thank you for joining us. i'm zach fuentes, along with frances dinglasan. abc seven news continues at 8:00 for now. have a great day.
