part, get it done early. show that, you know, i'm sure my parents that i voted show everyone that i care. let's see if they've been signed. >> alameda county election bosses say 100 voting centers are now open through tuesday. many voters are getting it done early. we've had about 300,000 people already vote, which represents about 32% of our voters so far. >> so turnout is going to be really good. >> depuy expects some close races may not be decided tuesday night. >> it's probably going to take us a couple of weeks uh. i'm estimating, you know, we could be looking at about 400,000 plus votes coming in by mail on election night. that's a lot. >> this is our busiest location. this is probably about a thousand ballots in petaluma. >> poll workers are removing ballots from a drop box outside this voting center. 31 locations are open across sonoma county. >> we've had over 137,000 returned. vote by mail ballots so far. >> registrar of voters wendy hudson says with such a contentious election, the safety

of poll workers is a top priority. this is my right. right here. >> wow. >> hudson is hoping to avoid scenes like this from a south carolina polling place where a man was asked to remove a hat mocking president biden. things became heated. >> we have given our poll workers de-escalation training. they have contact information for law enforcement, she says. >> so far, voting has been peaceful. now, many voters await the outcome of this election and the end of the day, i think it's important that we just unite together with whatever results ended up being voted on. >> cornell, bernard. >> abc seven news. >> on friday, the fbi confirmed they're investigating two fake videos related to the 2024 election. investigators say they appear to be the work of foreign actors, particularly russia, china and iran, aiming to raise tensions ahead of the election. this morning we spoke with a chief risk management strategist at know to knowbe4, a security focused software company.

>> they are attacks. they're not things that are just benign in nature. these are state foreign actors seeking to destabilize the u.s. and so the best thing that we can do is, number one, raise our awareness. number two, realize that these are trying to sow a narrative. there's a story behind these, and they're playing on our emotions. they're trying to sow division and they're trying to really poke those areas where we already feel divided. >> those fake videos were posted on x one falsely claimed the fbi apprehended groups committing voter fraud by voting twice in georgia. the second involved second gentleman doug emhoff, in the tight race for president. both candidates are barnstorming across several crucial battleground states. abc news reporter perry russom tells us the trump campaign went on the defense, explaining a controversial remark he made today.

>> over in the south bay, voters in silicon valley were encouraged today to vote for women candidates. santa clara county supervisor cindy chavez was among volunteers at a phone bank to specifically get support for female politicians. >> really wanting to see new, fresh energy in these seats and i, for one, am very excited about the future. as i look at these candidates. >> chavez says 150 people were expected to volunteer throughout the day at the phone bank. abc seven news is here to help you navigate through all of the races and measures on the ballot. we have a voter guide at abc7 news.com where you can look up races in your county. you can find it under the elections section. new developments. now an attorney representing east bay, congressman eric swalwell, plans to file a defamation lawsuit tomorrow against alameda county district attorney pamela price. it all comes after price made what swalwell calls defamatory comments about him in

a facebook post last month. swalwell says price made those comments while criticizing his decision to endorse her recall. swalwell's attorneys gave price an october 26th deadline to retract the statements, and she said say she did not respond or comply. p-g-and-e's has issued a watch for another round of public safety power shutoffs around parts of the bay area this week, all due to high winds and dry conditions. officials say some areas of alameda, contra costa, lake, napa, santa clara, solano and sonoma counties will likely have shutoffs tuesday, wednesday and thursday. they say specific addresses, maps and shutoff details are usually released two days ahead of time. right now, speaking of those conditions, let's get to your accuweather forecast. spencer is standing by. let's talk about how the humidity plays a role in these fire risks here. >> that's true diane. the relative humidity is dangerously low and we have those strong gusty winds you just talked

about, talked about and that windy pattern is going to be with us for several days. right now we're looking at wind gusts ranging from 20 to about 25mph in the windiest locations. and on we go to the forecast animation showing that the wind will die down much won't diminish much during the overnight hours. it's going to remain gusty all through the overnight hours into tomorrow morning, and check out tomorrow afternoon. by 1:00 tomorrow afternoon, we'll have wind gusts on the coast up to 40mph. so you can see this pattern can contribute to high fire concerns. and with dangerously low relative humidity. right now, most readings under 40% will have even lower relative humidity by tomorrow afternoon, when many locations will have readings under 20%. that is certainly considered dangerously low humidity. so you add in the winds, the low humidity and the air just getting drier and drier. our vegetation or our fuels as we refer to them getting drier as well, that contributes to high fire danger. now it's not going to be hot over the next few days, but it will be warm, warm enough to continue to dry out those fuels.

people who are missing after a boating accident in bodega bay. the sonoma county sheriff's office says a crabbing boat was reported missing to the coast guard after it didn't return to the dock last night. three minors and three adults were on board. search and rescue teams found an 11 year old alive on a beach this morning, and they were taken to the hospital. a second person was found dead and

debris from the missing boat was also found. sonoma county sheriff's deputy rob dillon says searchers are facing tough conditions. >> the. we have to start with the place that they were last known to be and that's the challenge with something like this, with the currents and the winds so strong that people can drift really quickly. >> planes, boats and drones are all being used to search miles of the bodega bay coastline. new details now on what police call a random stabbing on bart. there's been an arrest, and bart says a station worker spotted the wanted suspect this afternoon at fruitvale station, then told police. he's accused of stabbing a woman on an antioch bound train near the 24th street and mission station at about 8:00 yesterday morning. a bart surveillance camera captured images of the man and a station agent helped the victims until officers arrived. she was then taken to the hospital. an attention grabbing sight for drivers now near the bay bridge this morning. take a look at all

fire conditions. that's absolutely right. all the elements that go into fire weather, we have low humidity, strong gusty wind and drying fuels, as we call them vegetation. so here's what's going on. let me show you the satellite radar composite image. and this is why we have the strong gusty winds right now because of the alignment of weather systems down in the desert southwest, we have a low pressure system that's churning around with its counterclockwise circulation down here. you see that? and then we've got this high pressure system building offshore with its clockwise circulation. so the combined flow here is bringing a strong gusty wind down out of the

north. and when we get these northerly winds we get an offshore flow very often. and those those winds travel down our hills and mountain slopes. the wind, the wind, the air rather dries out, warms up. and of course that contributes to high fire danger. so right now we're looking at breezy conditions. not terribly gusty right now, but we have had gusts this early evening up to about 25mph. and it's a little bit warmer by a few degrees right now than at this time yesterday. five degrees warmer in novato and mountain view, 234 degrees warmer right around the bay shoreline for the most part. so we're warming up. we're drying out and it's quite gusty out there. but it's beautiful. nice view from sutro tower looking out over san francisco, where it's currently 61 degrees. we have 64 in oakland, hayward 6365 at san jose, redwood city, 64 and 55 degrees at half moon bay. and check out this view. this is beautiful from mount tam. clear conditions, no clouds around looking out over the bay. parts of san francisco, the bay bridge, parts of oakland. it is 60 degrees in santa rosa right now. 61 petaluma napa 5965 at

morning as the morning commute is underway, we'll have clear skies already and again, that wind continues to be rather strong down out of the north. overnight. low temperatures will be mainly in the low 50s, a little chillier up in the north bay, where we'll see lows of 39 at lakeport and 42 at santa rosa. highs tomorrow 64 half moon bay, mainly low 70s right around the bay shoreline. inland areas will warm up to mid to upper 70s warmest location will be about 79 degrees at santa rosa. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so once again we'll skip ahead to tuesday election day a lovely day to get out and vote. if you haven't done so already. wednesday. high fire danger. once again, it will remain windy through thursday. very little change in the temperature range going into the end of the week. that november. warmth holds on, but the winds will ease up just a bit as we get to friday and saturday. a mix of sun and clouds on saturday and sunday we may even have some early morning drizzle up in the north bay. >> the 40 niners, with the week off, enjoying a mid-season bye. san francisco sitting at four
