game. i just think they had to go through some adversity, new coaching staff, change of guard, new leadership. and i think they learned a lot of lessons. >> chris: richard young still running hard, bangs down for a first down. well, in the s.e.c. today, we've seen these -- this doubleheader, ole miss knocks off georgia, if you missed it earlier, just a historic team for ole miss, they beat a top two team for the second time ever. georgia takes a second loss and heads home to take on tennessee, and here, bama flexing, really from the first minutes of this game and trying to add to an emphatic result. didn't watch much during the day. indiana won. miami fell, losing to georgia tech. and richard young will just waltz into the end zone for a

sixth rushing touchdown for alabama tonight. and the folks who are still here supporting lsu continue to grumble. i think it's more alabama fans here at the moment. >> kirk: danny lewis, good block there, kind of caught the edge, set the edge for a nice touchdown run. i don't -- again, that's not running up the score, that's just backup opportunities. these guys are going to come out, take advantage of the chances that they get, and richard young gets to the corner and says, i'll take that touchdown. >> chris: it's another chorus of the "good-bye" song from the alabama fans here. i've been coming here since 1988, when tlsu beat auburn, 36 years ago. never seen anything like this. alabama has laid some poundings on lsu. in fact, losses of 28-plus in here, the last four times it's happened now, guess who has been the winning team? so, they've done it before.

we didn't expect it tonight. talked about what happened around the country. cam ward and miami falling, georgia tech, just a gritty effort. almost all on the ground. hoosiers had to battle. ohio state coming up next in the shoe for indiana. >> kirk: a couple weeks to prepare and get ready for that trip. ole miss, man, jaxson dart, give him a lot of credit. had the ankle early in that game, after an interception. georgia scored, he came back, led them to a big win. tennessee, emphatic win over mississippi state. we'll be -- actually be in athens next week with tennessee and georgia. another elimination game in the s.e.c. on abc next week in prime time. >> chris: you're right to praise dart. he came back in a game after going out, but the defense of ole miss, my goodness did they play well today. >> kirk: sure did. >> chris: no surprise, that's a strong unit, but -- they really controlled georgia's offense.

football over the last 30, 40 years, or longer, and you look at the standard of what they're alumni and former players expect, and you look at what they have currently on this roster, it's just not -- it's not the level at all the positions of what you expect. offensive line, i know on paper they're great. they got dominated up front. defensive line got dominated upfront. secondary, they need better players in the secondary. it's just the reality. it's where they are right now. got to go out and recruit. >> chris: kelly's complaint is that his team wasn't finishing well. they didn't start tonight. alabama, dominant, really from the first minutes. nussmeier still in the game. takes another shot. lacy with the catch. bama trying to keep lsu out of the end zone here. shades of what they did against missouri in their last game. down to 21 seconds. >> kirk: you got backups in for

alabama. a lot of the starters still in for lsu, and a lot of pride on the line out there at 42-6. >> chris: these backups are playing like the conference title's on the line on defense. look at this pressure. wow. nussmeier flips it to the end zone again. heavy pressure. they're just bringing an all-out blitz. they're going to leave the starting quarterback in, they're going to keep blitzing him. >> kirk: they walked eight up and brought eight. eight guys that time. kane womack is saying, they're still out there with the starters? we're going to dial it up. and the other thing, to finish on lsu, brian kelly, you can -- you can get things fixed in a hurry when it comes to improving your roster. n.i.l., transfer portal. it's not like you have to go out and just count on rebuilding it from the ground up. >> chris: alabama crowd making noise on the road against the home offense here. as the tide try to keep lsu from

scoring. there's an end zone throw -- and coming back and making the catch for a touchdown is lacy. so, a very, very late touchdown by the tigers, as they find the end zone for the first time, and that's the first touchdown alabama has given up in the last two games. >> kirk: they get a one-on-one opportunity, that's against a true fresh mann. back shoulder. >> chris: did he have control? bill says yeah. nod of the head. >> kirk: perfectly placed there. thought we'd see more of that tonight. >> chris: knees did get down. >> kirk: yeah. >> chris: took a long time, kirk, for them to finally throw the first completion to lacy. the receivers were just not a big factor tonight in the passing game for the tigers. womack's defense showed up.

showed out. they get mercer next, and then a visit to norman, oklahoma, and then the iron bowl against auburn. that's always a -- fired up game. >> kirk: they'll be heavy favorites for the rest of the games they have. >> chris: "monday night football." the dolphins, starving for a win at this point, take on the rams in los angeles. "monday night countdown" at 6:00, and then the ball game at 8:00 on espn, deportes -- >> kirk: what a win last week by the rams, matthew stafford. they've kind of been able to find themselves here, now that they've gotten healthier out on the perimeter. they have a fun team to watch when they have all their pieces clicking. >> chris: well, we talked about the old loser leaves town like old time wrasslin.

lsu got hid over the head by a fondi folding chair and hit with a pile driver or two along the way. alabama still has the two conference losses, but is still in the race. lsu dropping really to second-tier status. and an uphill fight for the bayou bengals. >> kirk: yeah, this is one of those losses from brian kelly, when he goes into that locker room to address his team, this is -- it's a gut check. it's a gut check. still, if you think about it, you go to 6- 3, forget about the playoff, all that talk. it's more about, let's look at this week, let's look at getting better this week, the next week. and look at the rest of their season, if they're able to get things in order, they could still have a good year. it's not a -- of course, their goals are always going to be the playoff, but -- you just don't want to lose the season after a devastating loss like this.

>> chris: and for the tide, they come to tiger town and make an emphatic statement from the first minutes of the game. jalen milroe had that look, and had the fresh legs. he had the juice back and the bye week helped in that department, and he was dominant tonight. four more for number four. eight in two years on the ground for alabama's quarterback. and let's get kalen deboer's reaction to this big win with holly. >> holly: coach, your first taste of this rivalry. how were you able to silence death valley tonight? >> started fast, and, man, i just felt like all week long there was a sense of just, you know, confidence that we were developing. every day, we got better, and proud of the way we came out. the little things lead to, you know, what you see on the scoreboard. >> holly: you challenged your quarterback, said, he's got toe use his legs. that was the difference in this game. how proud are you of him for

doing that? >> yeah, absolutely. just -- the different elements, the noise, a lot you have to manage. when you're the quarterback, and for him to go make all those plays, just says a lot about the fight he has. i'm very proud of him. >> holly: coach, this has been an interesting season, you're taking over for a legend. this game, a lot of legends are born in this game. what do you walk off the field feeling tonight? >> well, we're going to enjoy it for about two seconds, because we know we have a lot left in the month of november here to reach our goals, and there's another step, i think a couple weeks ago, we took one step, and took another. we're understanding how important the process is to play really well on saturdays, and we have to keep getting better. there's more left out there. >> holly: coach, thank you. i'm going to bring in the man of the hour. jalen, hi. you know, early in this ball game, you rip off a 39-yard touchdown run. what did you see on that play? because that set the tone for this whole game. >> absolutely. i think the biggest thing was

that, trusting our blocks. come from preparation. just reading the gaps, just trusting in the offensive line and our running back, when it comes to quarterback runs -- what's up, my boy? love, bro. i think it's so important just to trust the guys up front, they're going to do what's best for the offense. >> holly: this is a line of scrimmage game, oand your offensive line was dominant. how were you able to read off of them to get almost 200 yards rushing tonight? >> i think the number one thing, when you go on the road, is communication. communication is so important for us, and that was the emphasis going into the week. we had to be the most prepared team when it comes to communication. and it was a key resource for us in this football game. >> holly: tonight was military appreciation night. i was able to talk to your mom and dad up in the stands. how have they poured into you serving this country and making it even more special tonight? >> i got to credit them. they are very unique individuals. i love them a lot, i appreciate

as kalen deboer said, still a lot to go here in the final weeks, but this kind of was a crystallizing day in the s.e.c., and ole miss and bama made some big, big statements. >> kirk: yeah, congrats to ole miss, that was an impressive win. these teams, these must-win situations, they show up with a little bit of an extra edge. at least in ole miss and alabama's case. i loved the answer when holly was talking to kalen deboer. we're going to enjoy this for two seconds, that shows you the focus of where this team is with those two losses. what's next? put that one behind us, what's next? this team, again, when they play the way they did tonight and they prepare the way they did tonight, going to be a tough out for anybody. >> chris: that's a coach's approach. i'm glad he didn't say they have a good mercer team coming up. that's mercer at oklahoma, and auburn home. querobinson, a gnarly looking wrist injury, fine linebacker for alabama tonight. 42-6 is the final for the tide

welcome to toyota. after the game, the 40 niners made it official today. running back christian mccaffrey is active and is expected to play sunday morning in tampa. it's a good thing he's back because they have a few other key injuries.

cornerback charvarius ward is out on family leave. defensive end nick bosa is questionable with a hip pointer. deebo samuel has sore ribs and safety malik mustafa is also questionable with a calf injury and even though he hasn't played a down yet this season, christian mccaffrey is our toyota. let's go places. player of the day because of all he brings to the 40 niners offense and they will need it this will be his first game back this season after missing the first eight dealing with achilles tendinitis. we don't know what his workload is going to look like before the injury, the niners liked mccaffrey to have 25 touches a game that might be a little bit much for game one, but no doubt the niners are excited to have their muscle back. >> anytime you can have a player of that caliber come back and not just like his talent level, but just kind of what he brings to the field and the team with his energy and the playmaking ability stuff. it's just a whole new level of energy that we're going to have out there. >> obviously, he's a, you know, one of our key players on the

sacked five times, lost a fumble and threw a pick. the biggest win at ole miss for former raiders coach lane kiffin. the students rushed the field early, so they had to go back. so when the game really ended, they were like, yeah, we got to get out of here in a hurry because look at this. ole miss with the upset 28 to 10 puts georgia's playoff hopes in doubt and certainly helps ole miss. both teams now seven and two. and how about them bears. last night cal snapped a four game skid all while collecting their first acc win. downing wake forest 4636. this scoop and score, you're seeing one of four forced turnovers on the night. the offense showed up big, accumulating 500 total yards in a win that inches them closer to bowl eligibility. they need just one more victory with three games left on the season. cal qb fernando mendoza he reflects on what this win means to him. >> i grew up an acc fan, always used to watch. >> i know ari said this
