>> this is a hatchet job of an inquiry, which was commissioned with a predetermined outcome in mind, and it was filled with lies. >> the investigation was prompted by complaints from sheriff's office staff. among other things, the resulting report accuses the sheriff of abuse of power using intimidation and retaliation tactics, as well as having an inappropriate personal relationship with her chief of staff. it also alleges the sheriff used racist and homophobic language, all charges the sheriff denies. >> these are people who have a vendetta against me. i am disgusted at how low these people will go. >> but members of the county's board of supervisors believe it's the sheriff who's lying. during a news conference tuesday afternoon, supervisors noelia corzo and ray mueller called on the sheriff to resign immediately. >> it's clear that we have a sheriff that we cannot trust this independent investigation lays out the reasons.

look outside this tuesday night and we have some changes headed our way. yeah. >> those changes. more rain. meteorologist sandhya patel is tracking it for us tonight. sandhya? yes. start looking for your umbrellas, because. yeah, we've got some wet weather coming our way. taking a look at live doppler seven right now it is a light level. one storm. the moisture right now is aimed at the pacific northwest. that will shift come late tomorrow morning. so by 11:00, that rain is in the north bay. you start to notice those showers crossing over into the east bay, the san francisco peninsula, by 1 p.m. it certainly has been generating big waves right now. wave heights are between 6 to 12ft. the high surf advisory until 6 a.m. tomorrow. breakers between 12 and 20ft means dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, especially along northwest facing beaches. here's a live view from our santa cruz camera, where the waves are kind of just sloshing up against the shoreline. be aware that the winds will be picking up as well. tomorrow afternoon, we're going into the 25 to almost 30 miles an hour along some parts

of the coast. it is a level one. on our exclusive abc seven news storm impact scale. tomorrow we're expecting scattered showers, breezy conditions, rough surf and some slick roads. that's not the only storm i'm tracking. i'll be back with a look at that and how it might impact your weekend plans. coming right up. all right. thank you. sandy. we'll check back. new at 11. a safeway employee at the ocean beach location is recovering after being attacked in the store early sunday morning. community members tell us the man knocked the female employee to the ground and began pummeling her with punches and dragged her across the floor by her hair. san francisco police tell us u.s. park police helped arrest the 28 year old suspect. he has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery. now, safeway issued a statement saying in part, quote, we are sending our thoughts to the associate involved in the incident. we take this matter seriously, and we are cooperating with law enforcement to provide any information needed to assist them. the victim's injuries are non-life threatening. >> after ongoing complaints from san francisco residents about

street prostitution, police are launching a program to crack down. it's called the dear john program, which allows people to report prostitution with photos. sfpd will verify and send letters with the photo to the registered owner of the vehicle involved. it serves as a deterrent to those who are purchasing sex. >> importantly, people soliciting prostitution will not have the anonymity they desire when paying for sex. receiving a dear john letter may also cause some uncomfortable moments at home. >> this comes a couple of months after some residents sued the city, claiming shotwell street has become an epicenter for prostitution. cement barriers were recently installed on the street, but have proved to be more of a hassle than a help. >> addressing the homeless crisis is part of building a better bay area. and tonight it was fremont's turn to try to find a solution. the city is grappling with what to do about numerous rvs over by irvington park. and tonight it decided no

more. abc seven news reporter lauren martinez has more. a family of five lives in this rv. >> cindy lopez says her three teenagers are within walking distance to irvington high school in fremont. >> i was like a hard time for them most of all, you know, because they need their own space. mostly for my girl, because she's the only one and the oldest, so it's kind of hard. >> lopez said they have a social worker currently helping them. lopez works part time. her husband is looking for work. i asked if she felt like a bother parked so close to homes. >> it's the same thing. like they pay taxes. i pay taxes, i work. they can say, oh, we don't pay rent. exactly. that's true. but expenses you know, clothing, food, gas. >> according to lopez, the family has parked their rv along irvington park for 5 to 6 months. but when i asked sheila monae, who lives in a home just feet away, monae says they've been here a lot longer a year and a half. we first spoke with monae back in may, when a row of rvs parked along the park. you

could hear a generator running from her second floor window. monae and other residents tried to get city leaders to take some kind of action. >> it's gotten to a point that the indifference has not only been frustrating, we've reached a point of no hope. >> on tuesday evening, fremont city council voted unanimously on an ordinance that would ban parking rvs in residential areas. one. >> we have to enforce this. that's going to take some time to scale up so we are we do want to have resources for these individuals. >> according to the ordinance, any vehicle parked in the same location for 72 hours must be moved at least 1000ft away. >> and we're very empathetic to the fact that, you know, it's a sad situation to be in. however, as i've mentioned before, their problem cannot be our problem. it is the city's responsibility to find them a safe and secure place to stay. >> monae hopes city officials communicate more with residents regarding overnight parking. in fremont, lauren martinez abc seven news.

>> a longtime issue for antioch is being addressed tonight. antioch city council has voted to increase overtime pay for police. the action authorized double the standard pay to sergeants, corporals, officers, community service officers and dispatch personnel who are working extra shifts. it's part of the chief's effort to reduce violent crime in the city. >> and i think it would benefit us all, particularly the community, that we spend this money up front to have higher visibility presence and reduce these crimes rather than paying for them after after the fact. >> antioch has been short on officers, which has been a growing issue, especially with the rise in shootings in the area known as the sycamore corridor. the funds will come from previously allocated money from the council. >> all right, let's turn now to the warriors. and tonight it was all about the return of an ex warrior, klay thompson. >> back in town. but as a member of the dallas mavericks it was a little weird. >> but sports director larry beil and chris alvarez are live at the chase center tonight.

airport as part of a rebrand. the city of san francisco took exception and went to court to put a stop to it, saying among other things, it could confuse travelers. now, today, a judge sided with the city and blocked the change. abc seven news reporter j.r. stone talked with both travelers and san francisco city attorney. >> reporter this massive sign says san francisco bay oakland international airport. tuesday, a federal judge ruled that the sign and others like it must be changed immediately. >> oakland needs to remove its signage. other indications of the new, confusing name that it's been using in recent months. >> that's san francisco city attorney david chiu, who previously filed a lawsuit against oakland, saying the name change from metropolitan oakland international airport to san francisco bay. oakland international airport infringed on the sfo trademark, specifically with the san

francisco addition to the name. >> we've invested hundreds of millions of dollars in building this brand. oakland has infringed on the trademark essentially trying to steal the brand uh-, and that has real economic cost to our airport and our region. >> but is it really that confusing those with the city of san francisco? believe so. >> but personally, i think it's much ado about nothing. >> san francisco, oakland we're neighbors. we always need to work together. but there is no partnership between sfo and oakland international. >> and the judge here ruled that the new name implies that there was some sort of connection. >> i understand that a lot of the customers that fly through here are getting confused with the name, and people that have never been here. as soon as they see san francisco, they actually think san francisco. they don't just keep reading and see it's actually on the oakland side or whatever. >> i think they should just stick with oakland. we're in

oakland and it makes it easier, especially when you're booking flights as to what comes next after this preliminary injunction, that's dependent on what action the port of oakland. >> the owner of the airport takes if they try to save the name san francisco bay. in a statement, they said, we are continuing to review the recent ruling and considering all available options. j.r. stone abc seven news. >> san francisco's mayor elect daniel lurie is sharing more about his vision for the city. he was on cnn tonight and was asked if he thinks progressive politics are getting voted out. this year. >> there's nothing progressive as to have 806 people die of drug overdose in our city last year. property crime is rampant. our small businesses are struggling each and every day. this is not a liberal, progressive conservative. people want to feel safe walking down the street. we had so many instances of anti-asian hate on our streets. those are things that we need to get addressed.

>> the san francisco native is new to city hall, but he's known for his work with his anti-poverty nonprofit tipping point on capitol hill today, senate majority leader chuck schumer met with newly elected democratic senators in attendance. >> california congressman adam schiff, who was elected to fill the seat of the late dianne feinstein. democrats are hoping to tackle as much as they can while they can, as they still hold the majority in the senate until january. the agenda includes providing more disaster aid. passing a defense policy bill and confirming federal judges. congress member elect sam liccardo is also in washington, d.c. today. in a post on x, liccardo posted a photo from his morning run and said, i landed in dc last night for orientation and to get an office up and running. liccardo was also invited to meet with minority leader hakeem jeffries. >> president elect trump is creating a department of government efficiency, and it is going to be led by elon musk and vivek ramaswamy. musk had

floated the idea as a way to dramatically cut spending during a conversation with trump, and it took off. it became reality today, and musk says they will be posting online any actions they take. the new department has vowed to finish its work within 18 months time. >> quite a scene in southern california this evening as a mama bear and her cub. you have to look closely here. we're seeing roaming around neighborhood north of pasadena. the cub was rather adventurous, climbed into a dumpster and rummaged around for several minutes as you see there. the pair eventually ran off toward the foothills and off they go. yes, they said, hey, it's a nice day. let's go dumpster diving. why not? >> why not? >> all right, sandhya, it's. >> we're going to need an umbrella. if we're going to do anything outside the next day or two. >> hopefully not. dumpster diving. that's for sure. you know, to each their own. well. why not? okay. ama and dan. let's take a look at what you can expect. this upcoming wednesday. we do have another storm coming our way. so we're talking about showers, surf and

gusty winds. certainly watch out for slippery roadways out there. big waves at the coast. minor flooding expected from king tides between thursday and sunday. and this really unsettled pattern is going to continue into early friday. and then another storm comes in over the weekend. this storm has an atmospheric river component to it, but the moisture and the energy is aimed right at the pacific northwest. so what we're going to get out of it is the waves. the tides, the king tides, that is. and also some breezy conditions with some showers. right now, the pacific northwest is getting their share of moisture here in the bay area. we're just dealing with clouds and fog. visibility is down to three miles in santa rosa. if you recall this morning we had some patchy fog. we're going to do it all over again. but now the clouds have started to increase ahead of the storm. temperatures in the 40s and the 50s. a live view of the fog from our sutro tower camera. golden gate bridge is shrouded in the gray skies. here's a look at the

forecast tomorrow. wet weather is back this week. rough surf and king tides and then thursday and friday we're looking at occasional showers here in the bay area, so the king tide, the first one is coming up on thursday morning, 6.7ft. we have a few more through sunday, and one of the higher ones is coming in on friday. that's going to be about seven feet. so you know the minor low lying flooding that we experience, especially in the park and ride in the north bay, you're going to be seeing that potential once again. so be aware of that light level one storm coming in tomorrow. scattered showers, breezy, rough surf and slick roads is what you can expect. the winds will come up out of the south 1:00 in the afternoon, close to 30 miles an hour. still gusty at 3 p.m. and then here comes the moisture. so first thing in the morning at 11 a.m, you've got rain falling. it's steady, moderate in pockets in the north bay. and then you will notice the rain starts to shift 1:00 in the afternoon. the east bay, san francisco peninsula scattered showers through wednesday night. continuing into

thursday morning. there's a 10% chance there could be an isolated thunderstorm on thursday. but you will notice even going into friday, it's not a rainy all day thing. it's just going to be occasional showers. now. rainfall totals will range anywhere from about a couple hundredths in livermore and san jose all the way to over an inch in ukiah. this is taking you through friday morning, 4000/800 in santa rosa turns to snow in the mountains. a winter weather advisory 10:00 in the morning until 10 p.m. friday. several days of snow above 5500ft. highest over the peaks. but we're talking gusty winds and 6 to 12in of snow. hazardous travel is expected. there you go. 11in at donner, seven inches at kyburz. your morning temperatures in the 30s and 40s. not quite as chilly as it was this morning. tomorrow afternoon you're looking at 50s and 60s. keep those umbrellas handy. the accuweather seven day forecast does feature scattered showers tomorrow. it's a level one, a few showers thursday, and an isolated chance on friday. we'll bring in saturday morning, chil, but it is a dry day. sunday
