5:11 am
right now. this officially begins at 7 a.m. but it is already elevated along our coastline. so we're finding that this high surf will last until the start of the weekend. so just be aware of that. we have dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, and northwest facing beaches are most at risk. so here's future weather. hour by hour later on this morning, 930, we'll track those showers, mainly in the north bay. closer to lunchtime. there may be 1 or 2 across the city in the east bay hills, and the south bay will remain dry throughout the day. as we head into the afternoon and evening, we'll find just a mix of sun and clouds and those showers finally pushing off to the east when it comes to total rainfall, it's not a lot of rain by any means. just like yesterday, the north bay a few hundredths to as much as a quarter of an inch. and then you see areas outside of the north bay, just a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. so highs similar to yesterday. it will feel cool out there. we'll have daytime highs mainly in the upper 50s to the mid 60s throughout the afternoon. your sunset today at 4:59 p.m. looking at the three day forecast, you will see

5:19 am
storm prediction center. and they have outlined basically the entire bay area for an isolated risk of a thunderstorm. if one pops up, we could see some lightning, hear some thunder, even get some brief hail. so just be aware of that. it's that time of the year. you get instability, you get cold air, and those thunderstorms can develop pretty easily. temperatures out there right now we're in the 40s and in the 50s in hayward at 5249, in redwood city in the north bay and the inland east bay, similar temperatures, 40s and 50s out there right now. so looking at rainfall estimates throughout the day for many folks outside of the north bay, it's just a mix of sun and clouds today and some chilly temperatures. it's really the north bay that has the chance of accumulating moisture out there. up to a quarter of an inch is possible with that chance of an isolated thunderstorm. so today we'll have those temperatures in the upper 50s to the mid 60s, more in the way of sunshine in the south bay. cloudier in the north bay as those showers move through. now overnight tonight it gets cold. we have a cold front moving through and behind it we do advect some colder air into the region. so 30s and low 40s and our coldest spots
