being accused of molesting a child. he was arrested last week after a relative came forward to police to say he was victimized by torres 20 years ago. torres is being held without bail. he faces 24 years in prison. if convicted. a critical vote today could transform san francisco's ocean beach. the california coastal commission will vote on a plan to build a seawall to protect against erosion and rising sea levels. we first told you about this plan yesterday morning. city planners say the $175 million project would also shore up a sewage tunnel and a wastewater treatment plant along the coast, but those with the surfrider foundation have their concerns. >> seawalls make erosion worse by disrupting the natural flow of the ocean. sand will get pushed outwards, kind of pinched out along the seawall, and over time there will be no more sand, no more natural beach left at all. we are concerned that the city will not be able to keep this seawall buried as they
6:40 am
claim. >> the city's plan also includes a seaside trail and other features. the surfrider foundation wants to see a seawall that's made of dirt and more long term maintenance plans. this morning, california celebrates its annual ruby bridges walk to school day. the statewide walk honors the historic civil rights moment when six year old ruby bridges became the first student to integrate a southern elementary school. local san francisco students will march from city hall to their schools to honor bridges and her bravery back in 1960. ruby bridges walked to school. day was designated by the state in 2021 and still ahead, the beloved san francisco street fair that had its last dance, unfortunately for so many. yeah. and a first look at tiana's bayou adventure. reggie is there and will give us the scoop on the new ride at disneyland. but first, here's drew. >> yeah, we are so excited to see that he was so entertaining the last hour. i can't wait to see him on the ride. finally! here's a look at our high surf
6:41 am
advisory that begins very shortly at 7 a.m. we're talking about breakers 12 to 18ft, and this will last through saturday. so just be aware. along the coast we have dangerous swimming and surfing conditions. our northwest facing beaches most at risk. we're at that time of the year where we have our king tides, our highest high tides all year. a coastal flood advisory will begin this morning. this will last through monday. so during times of high tide, we could see some minor flooding on area roadways and parking lots. here's live doppler seven, along with satellite. we had a cold front move through here yesterday. brought some rain to the north bay. now behind that front we're still dealing with some energy. some showers still located in the north bay from time to time throughout the morning and the afternoon, some isolated showers will be around. so here's future weather. we'll track that chance later on this morning into the early afternoon. and again, it's areas in the north bay that have the highest chance of seeing wet weather for those folks on the peninsula, the south bay, the east bay, and even in the city. it's just a mix of sun and clouds today. and temperatures in the upper 50s to the lower

right, creating this an illusion that the water running down the side of el capitan has turned to hot lava. it's become an extremely popular event for photographers and sightseers. reservations will become available on monday at 8 a.m. you have to make them on the government's reservation websit, recreation.gov. and if you're headed to palisades in tahoe, you'll need reservations for parking. the ski resort introduced the program last year, and it's back for this season. reservations are required for saturdays, sundays and select holidays starting december 7th through the end of the ski season. you can make reservations online for free. they're released on tuesdays at noon and 7 p.m. for the following weekend. >> despite its massive popularity, the how weird street fair in san francisco is coming to an end. organizers announced that they will not be getting permits for 2025 because of growing costs of permitting and production. they lost thousands
6:46 am
of dollars in 2020 when they were forced to cancel and again this year, when their may plans were postponed because of a rainstorm. so although its september event was a big success, organizers say that operating without sponsorship or grants is just too overwhelming. >> all the holidays are coming to thrive city in san francisco. >> yeah, the area outside of chase center announced its winter wonderland holiday programing. the tree lighting ceremony is set for saturday, november 30th. former warrior will be there also. montell jordan is going to be performing, so there's going to be a lot going on. and then starting on december 21st, the ice skating rink opens there and there's a hanukkah celebration that's on december 29th, and you can also celebrate kwanzaa and ring in the new year on december 31st. so all of those events are free, and they have just so much going on. and you can see that beautiful tree. it's going to be gorgeous when it's all lit up. and just so exciting. >> no kidding. and speaking of
6:47 am
celebrations, he worked his way up through abc and then up the ladder at disney, achieving many accolades and titles. now bob iger has received one more. he just received one of the highest honors from the president of france. the walt disney company ceo was given the chevalier de la légion d'honneur, that is a french title originally equivalent to the english knight. what makes this even more special? walt disney himself received the same award 88 years ago. >> so amazing. and in new york, another member of our disney family was celebrated deborah o'connell, who is president of news group and networks for us here at disney, was honored as part of the dear new yorkers class of 2024. she was awarded with the distinguished citizenship award by reisenbach philanthropies. the foundation was started in 1991, and it has its roots in media and creative industries, and it uses that to help with its mission of helping build a better, safer new york city. and disney, of course, is the parent company of abc seven.
6:48 am
so some big honors and they definitely deserve them. yeah, yeah. >> congratulations. all right. in the accuweather forecast we'll take a live look at the mount tam cam this morning where once that sun gets up over the horizon, it's fighting a lot of clouds this morning, especially in the north bay. and that's where we actually find some showers falling. we had that cold front move through here yesterday. it brought rain mainly to the north bay. and that's how today is shaping up. as well. we'll look at the north bay on live doppler seven, zoom on in a little bit closer to street level, showing you we have a downpour that's moving through rohnert park right now, clipping parts of santa rosa, even petaluma. some light showers around cloverdale, middletown and all of this is moving into napa county over the next hour or so. we even have the potential of seeing 1 or 2 thunderstorms pop up. once we get that daytime heating some energy in the atmosphere. if we see a thunderstorm, hail is potentially likely later on this afternoon. of course, the north bay probably the best chance of seeing any of that action on the abc seven storm impact scale today. showers in the forecast,
6:49 am
mainly in the north bay. we have that high surf advisory along our coast and also some minor coastal flooding during times of high tide with those king tides. so here's future weather later on this morning. by 11 a.m, we're back on air for midday live. we'll track those showers through parts of marin and sonoma and napa county. it's a similar story in the early afternoon. notice areas outside of the north bay. pretty quiet under a mix of sun and clouds. after the sun goes down, the showers are pretty much done, so it's a very short lived rain event. looking at highs today. upper 50s to the upper 60s. cooler and cloudier in the north bay. warmer and brighter as you move south and east. overnight tonight we'll find mainly clear skies and overnight lows will be in the 30s and in the 40s. we have a winter weather advisory still in effect through tomorrow. above about 5500ft, we could see 6 to 12in of snow. and of course that could create some slick travel. so if you're traveling to tahoe, especially tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow evening you will be dealing with snow and especially snow at night. a lot of this falls after the sun goes down, so that makes travel pretty tricky as we take
6:50 am
a look at the weekend though, we will be able to enjoy sunshine and some warmer temperatures in the sierra. now behind this front it does get chilly. what you're looking at is saturday morning and our morning lows on this map. so future weather showing you kicking off the weekend. we have cold weather out there, widespread 30s in the north bay, even upper 30s. low 40s around the bay shoreline. so this is going to be one of our coldest mornings. we have seen in about six months. the payoff, though, is that we have a lot of sunshine in the afternoon and some warmer weather heading into sunday. sunday morning is not as cold. we'll start to see a little bit more mild air first thing in the morning, and then heading into monday. you'll notice it's a similar story with those overnight lows in the 30s and in the 40s. so here's the accuweather seven day forecast. let's play the next seven days for you. the best chance of any showers today will be in the north bay. it's a level one outside of the north bay. it's a mix of sun and clouds and even the potential of an isolated thunderstorm popping up later on today. if one does, we could see
6:51 am
some hail. then the payoff tomorrow we get bright sunshine back. a brisk morning around here, but the cold morning get ready for saturday. that's when we have temperatures well below freezing and a lot of areas 30s and 40s around the bay shoreline. and then in the afternoon, we get sunny skies to kick off the afternoon 50s and 60s for the weekend. sunday rain at night. so much of your weekend is just fine. those showers after sunset on sunday, but a quick mover early next week. sunshine is back and drier conditions guys. >> all right. thank you so much drew. well abc seven is teaming up with bay area fire departments for the 15th annual operation save a life event. >> i was at fire station four in san francisco with fire officials to help increase public awareness of fire and carbon monoxide safety. one of the key messages from the event was about the importance of having a working smoke detector in your home. as we head into the holidays, especially especially at this time of the year, with thanksgiving, where we have in one specific day the most fires throughout the entire year. >> as you can imagine, a lot of
6:52 am
people are in their homes cooking. >> fires just burn hotter and faster because there's more synthetic materials that we bring into our homes. >> so it's so important that you have working smoke alarms. >> so important now, operation save a life includes a partnership with the home depot and kira and has provided communities with more than 1.5 million smoke and carbon monoxide alarms since it began. very important. well, normally when people go on a water ride, they might wear a poncho or at least bring a change of clothes and as we know, abc seven news anchor reggie aqui he's not basic, he's not generic, he's not typical. some may say he's not normal. not me. i wouldn't say that. >> and we say that in the very nicest way. only reggie. but reggie, of course, is live at disneyland this morning to show us the new attraction. that's opening tomorrow. that's so exciting that you're getting a sneak peek today, reggie. >> so exciting. now let me tell you, i'm not like you. other
6:53 am
anchors and reporters, okay? they gave me one of these to wear, which is very cute. it has mickey on it. it's a poncho. and i said, i don't need this. all right, i'm going to ride it sans anything because it's a water ride. and when you go on a water ride, you get wet. roll the video. so i'm in the front row, which is usually the place where you are going to get absolutely soaked. this is tiana's bayou adventure. it used to be splash mountain. that's the past. it's a new season. tiana has taken over this mountain and she is telling you the post story from the movie. and as i'm going through this, i'm thinking, any moment now, i'm going to be underwater. well, i don't know if i was just protected by tiana or protected by louis alligator, but somehow i came out nearly unscathed. i got a little splash in the water. it woke me up, and that's all i needed. when i tell you i love this ride. i love this ride. darcy is going to join me right now. she is from imagineering with disney. she helped create this ride. darcy. the thing i love about tiana's
6:54 am
bayou adventure is that there's no trauma. there's no drama. tiana is living her life. she is no longer a frog. she is a businesswoman. and she's going to send us down to 50 foot waterfall. >> absolutely. i totally agree with you that it's all about fun. it's all about party celebration. that's what a great ride. from the moment you get on it, you start to hear the good music. so the finale where we have our signature special spice song, it is just a good time all around. >> darcy, i don't know if you were here yesterday when we were riding the ride, but i got off the ride. the most magical thing happened. i think we have some video of it. we can show it. tiana herself, anika noni rose was there and i got some video as she was crouching down and hugging a guest, and it was the best thing, i felt like i was being hugged. >> that's amazing. yeah, i know she was here yesterday. her jennifer lewis put on a great show for the media last night on the riverboat, belting it out all of the original songs. our new song, it was fantastic. >> and that song special spice is now stuck in my head. and darcy, i hold you responsible.
6:55 am
>> i'll take it. i think it's not a bad one to have stuck in your head. it makes you tap your toes. you feel good and the message is just so positive. everybody's welcome. we're here to have fun. party, celebrate. tiana's business. it's a good time. >> it is such a good time. and when i tell you the animatronics are, i'm just going to say it. the best y'all have ever made. louis, the alligator is my king. i mean, the way that he moves, he's like, scrunchy. and you know what i'm saying? like, i don't know if there's a better word for it. if you have one in the vocabulary of imagineering, i think he's just very real. >> it's louis in the in the flesh and our team did such a fantastic job, and it took literally a team of over 100 folks to bring all of those figures to life, from the critters to the louis to mama odie and tiana, and it just really makes the story come alive. >> i loved it, okay, so i did promise my coworkers, darcy, that i was going to bring them back something. and so now here's the problem. both of our anchors today have children. i have one tiana doll. ooh, you get to pick. so does does amanda
6:56 am
get to give her child this doll or gloria? >> oh, i can't pick, but i think we could go get another one at louis critter club if you want. maybe that's just over here with that. that's just. >> just down the bayou. >> that's right. just down the bayou. all right. we can go grab. >> darcy is very good on her feet. she came up with a solution. so we'll have tiana for one of you, and then we'll get something else for the other one of you. does that sound like a deal? >> oh, that is so sweet. you know, thank you for even thinking about us, because all i'd be able to think about are the animatronics we're not talking about just a few of them. >> this is an entire, like, cast. >> yeah. >> oh, yeah. and you see louis alligator multiple times. oh, i forgot my favorite figure in the whole thing is this little shimmy. a shady armadillo who he doesn't even move or talk, but his eyes follow you as you go through. he knows things. he's seen things. you know what i'm saying? you get it? >> he's inbred. i have so many

one outside of the north bay today. drier and brighter skies. >> number two, the san mateo county board of supervisors has voted unanimously to demand the immediate resignation of embattled sheriff christina corpus and oust her chief of staff. instead, corpus is refusing to resign and yesterday announced she's promoting her chief of staff to assistant sheriff. >> number three, president elect donald trump has nominated now former florida congressman matt gaetz as attorney general. the pick surprised many, and it's not clear if he will get senate confirmation. >> number four, san francisco's contemporary jewish museum will close for at least a year due to financial issues. leaders say the close is temporary.
7:00 am
>> number five, you may see more kids on your commute this morning. that's because it's ruby bridges walk to school day. the day encourages students to walk to school and engage in discussions about anti-racism, anti-bullying, and activism. >> number six following the sigalert with a fatal accident having all eastbound 8-80 lanes closed in fairfield. hoping to have that clear by eight. number seven, today is the day to get your coffee and a free reusable red cup at starbucks. you'll have to get a holiday drink, but you can get your cup anyway when you order online or in store. red cup day. >> big day for a lot of people. >> get that holiday drink at that free cup. >> reusable. >> we'll see you again. i'm excited. >> 77 at seven. >> robin: good morning america. the president-elect's trip to washington, a possible breast cancer vaccine, and the stars
