5:02 am
the last 24 hours. and that threat continues this morning. so live doppler seven is showing you our atmospheric river just continues to sit on top of us. some of the heaviest showers are in the north bay. we do have some lighter amounts falling across the city right now and along the peninsula. so down to street level, light rain from the city over to oakland, el cerrito, richmond. some lighter showers in san rafael, but it's the north bay parts of northern sonoma county, specifically around santa rosa, healdsburg, guerneville that we've just been inundated with heavy rain the last 24 hours. it's been relentless out there and unfortunately that will continue this morning. so a flood advisory has basically been issued for all of marin county, sonoma county, napa county, essentially just meaning we've had so much rain the last 24 hours that we are seeing nuisance flooding in a lot of areas on our streams, our creeks and on our roads. and that threat does continue not only today, but through early saturday morning, because more rain is on the way. it is windy out there right now. winds out of the south gusting well over 20mph. so looking at the abc seven storm impact scale,

still a level two this morning for that flood risk in the north bay. lighter amounts south and east. it's windy out there and we do have dangerous surf. so we'll go hour by hour and future weather coming up in eight minutes. let's check in with gloria, see what is going. >> good morning. we're going to keep an eye on the commute this morning because of possible wet roads out there. and that rain that we could expect throughout the morning. so right now, we're looking live at the bay bridge, and the roads there are wet. upper deck is starting to fill in as people head to the city from highway four to san francisco. 28 minutes and over at the golden gate bridge. you can see there roads also wet there, slick roads. and there's even that digital billboard that's telling people to slow down because of the wet roads. so we'll keep monitoring it for you throughout the morning. give yourself a little bit more time today and drive a little slower. be careful out there. reggie. thanks, gloria. >> the north bay did get hit with the brunt of the storm yesterday. and this morning they're seeing the most fallout from flooding to falling trees. abc seven news reporter lena howland making her way to the santa rosa area right now. what are you seeing on highway 101? lena.ou seeing on highway 101?
5:04 am
>> hey, reggie. right now on highway 101, heading northbound. it has been a bit of a slick and slow morning drive for us here. as we make our way up to santa rosa. take a look at the roads right now. we are seeing quite a bit of rain falling here at the 5:00 hour. those headlights and windshield wipers are absolutely necessary this morning, and the need to slow things down in these conditions could not be understated enough. it's this heavy rain and gusty winds that caused quite a bit of damage across the north bay yesterday. take a look. a massive tree fell on this home in forestville, just outside of santa rosa. one person was taken to the hospital, but officials say they will survive. this also damaged power lines and a nearby car. in santa rosa near 101 and state route 12, the falling rain was too much for this tree that fell onto power lines in a residential neighborhood. nearby homes were left in the dark. >> this morning it just started pouring and it hasn't stopped. i don't like it. this morning i

careful. first responders say it's the first storm of the season, but it's bringing a lot of rain in a short amount of time. >> so with this atmospheric river that's hitting us right now, currently we're kind of at the monitoring stage, but we are starting to see that nuisance flooding coming up on the roadways and to echo lina, first responders are warning the public to stay home and hunker down if you can. >> the storm has had an impact on transportation. the golden gate bridge highway and transportation district canceled ferry service yesterday between tiburon and san francisco, while the tiburon service was down, other ferry routes were still going as normal. a spokesperson tells us that although the water is choppy, it's actually the high winds that are causing the issues for that service in particular. >> generally, when we need to suspend ferry service, it's due to winds and winds, particularly that affect docking in tiburon in particular. it's a challenging dock to arrive at or to depart from. and so when the winds are strong and from particular angles, it can make it very, very challenging. >> county officials are
