level one storm, and it is delivering winter. i want to show you a live picture right now from our zephyr cove camera. you will see the snow coming down right now. chain controls on 80, 50, 88 and four. so carry those with you as we look at our local radar here. live doppler seven is tracking some pockets of moderate to heavy rain between gilroy. highway 101 heading down towards hollister. it is scattered in nature from san francisco to daly city, heading into the east bay. as we widen this picture here, this is a light level one storm that moisture feed right across the central coast, and that is where it is going to stay as we go into tomorrow. so in the morning, do watch out for damp roadways, especially at 5 a.m, scattered showers at 8:00. if you are getting out of town. still a few more showers around 11 a.m. here's the good news sfo no delays being reported around our local airports or statewide. as you can see, right now. now, if you are traveling, the sierra is going to be the problem spot along with parts of the central

confidence in san mateo county sheriff cristina corpus and calling on her to resign. the council's vote follows the release of an explosive report by an independent investigator. that report says the sheriff has abused her power while in offic, had an inappropriate relationship with her chief of staff and sent out racist and homophobic text messages. >> judge cordell's report speaks for itself and it represents nothing less than a failure of leadership. >> since the report emerged, corpus has denied the allegations against her and vowed not to step down. while the county's board of supervisors can't remove her, they are exploring adopting a charter amendment early next year. that amendment would ask voters to give the board the power to fire the sheriff. >> she's clearly lost the confidence of her organization, and most of the leaders in this community. and yes, if she requires us to go through this entire process and spend the money required, that is a selfish act. >> san carlos is the first city in san mateo county to formally call on corpus to step down. the sheriff says she believes she's

being unjustly attacked because she's trying to bring change to her department. the president of the deputies union, who was recently arrested by his own department, also attended monday's vote. >> she's taken away from the real victims, right? people that it's almost like she's crying wolf. right? and for the people that do go through something that's serious is that there's no validity to what she's to her statements that she's saying, that it's because she's a female. it's because she's a latina. >> san carlos has relied on the sheriff's office for law enforcement services in the city since 2011. and despite monday's vote, city leaders want to reassure local residents that public safety will not be affected. >> this is a very healthy relationship, but for the sheriff's current predicament, many of the sheriff's critics say they hope other cities in the county follow san carlos lead and call on corpus to resign. >> whether or not that happens remains to be seen. i'm in san carlos, tim johns, abc seven news. >> in the east bay, pittsburgh

police are asking for your help to find the driver in a deadly hit and run. the crash happened on friday night along willow pass road, just around the corner from the riverview mobile home park. 50 year old joaquin revuelta was found lying in the road before being pronounced dead. his family says he was on his way home from church. officers are reviewing area surveillance cameras to try to narrow down the car that was responsible. >> happening tomorrow. leaders in richmond are looking for ways to slow traffic down and stop dangerous driving. tomorrow night, city council agenda calls for staff to come up with traffic calming solutions to stop speeding and sideshows. people doing donuts and things like that. they want to focus on six areas to start with a special emphasis on canal boulevard. police have responded to a number of sideshows along that stretch of road, making nine arrests at one point earlier this month. >> san jose state women's volleyball team heads to the playoffs this weekend. a federal judge will not get in the way. the judge rejected an emergency

petition to sideline a player amid a fierce debate over transgender women in sports. several lawsuits have claimed a san jose player is trans, though the university and the player have never said so. the judge says granting the emergency motion would create confusion in the tournament, which starts wednesday. san jose state is seeded second and will play the winner of wednesday's match between utah state and boise state. both teams forfeited matches against san jose state during the regular season. >> in the east bay, the battle continues over the lafayette reservoir tower. the east bay municipal utility district, which owns the tower, says it needs to be lowered for safety reasons. all right. here's how this height fight breaks down. right now, the tower is 170ft tall. east bay mud says it needs to be 40ft shorter to be safe in an earthquake. the city council says the tower is important to lafayette's history and branding. vice mayor wee ty quoc hopes to find a balance. >> the community has risen with an interest to save the iconic tower. so there's a historic

preservation piece, there's the safety piece, and we've been trying. can we do both? >> the council is urging east bay mud to hold another public hearing. so residents can express their concerns before plans move forward. east bay mud and the city have been coordinating on this since 2015. it's dragged on. in a statement last week, east bay mud said, quote, attempting to develop a further alternative that maintains the taller tower height would not likely be approved by the california division of the safety of dams and thus not be a wise use of customers. rate dollars. >> p-g-and-e's once again asking. to charge people more. that's according to our partners at the bay area news group. the company wants to raise the average residential customers bill by more than $4 a month. people on lower income plans could see a nearly $3 increase. the new proposal before state regulators says p-g-and-e's needs to pay for service to new projects next year, including electric vehicle charging stations, data centers, delivery

hubs and more. >> it is a dairy debate now, spilling onto store shelves. bay area grocery stores are pulling a certain kind of raw milk after a south bay lab found it tested positive for bird flu. abc seven news reporter lauren martinez went to the experts to understand the safety concerns. >> bay area grocery stores are pulling some raw milk off their shelves. last week, traces of the bird flu virus were found in a batch of raw milk that was sold by raw farm, a company out of fresno county. the company posted this message on sunday. >> we're not making a big deal about it because it's not a big deal. that's kind of the awkward thing about this voluntary recall. >> also on sunday, the california department of public health issued a warning and posted about the risks associated with raw milk. so what is raw milk and why are we talking about it? doctor zachary rubin, an allergist, explains, if you don't pasteurize it, which is essentially just heating it for about 15 seconds at 161°f and then cooling it

down again, you're leaving a lot of these dangerous pathogens that are not safe for human consumption. >> there's a lot of misinformation and incorrect information that's been floating around for several years about proposed benefits of. >> christina hildebrand owns real food bay area, a local distributor of raw milk and other foods from farms in grass valley, stockton and san martin. hildebrand points to state regulations and require testing at farms there. >> there are processes in place to make sure that people don't get sick. >> hildebrand said. a lot has to do with the health of the cow and the cleanliness of the farm. >> there are some states you can't buy raw milk at all, and there are other states where you have to go to the farm. i think as long as the farm is doing what they need to ensure that the raw milk is safe. and i think the raw milk farmers are very, very conscientious about their cattle. >> doctor peter chin-hong said it's not about exaggerating the dangers of raw milk. it's about looking ahead. the avian flu may

boston there. tampa 79 degrees. looking at a live view from zephyr cove, the snow is beginning to pick up. they are still requiring chains right now. as you look at the sierra on live doppler seven. definitely snowing right now. they even have a thunderstorm that has developed. the moisture plume is to our south. it's basically over the southern part of our viewing area and also right around the monterey bay. so until 4 a.m. winter storm warning expecting 1 to 2ft for the peak, 6 to 12in above 5500ft, i would hold off on travel if you can. if not, carry those chains. looking at live doppler seven, you will notice that we do have some rain. it is steady right across san jose, santa clara, tasman drive, highway 101. some pockets of moderate rain right around watsonville. corralitos gilroy has been seeing some steady downpours, and from the east bay and fremont fremont boulevard to redwood city highway 101 east palo alto, it is lighter showers moving across the region. this moisture is going to continue at

least through the morning hours tomorrow, and then you can pretty much hang up those umbrellas. let's talk about the rainfall. the highest totals have been in the southern part of our viewing area, as we expected 7000/900 there in ben lomond, about a quarter of an inch in san jose, under that in san francisco, oakland 1700s only 100th in concord, a quarter of an inch in santa rosa. these are so far, rainfall totals. watch out. visibility has been poor, down to three miles right now in santa rosa. temperatures in the 40s and the 50s. looking at what is ahead, a beach hazard statement begins tomorrow night until 10 p.m. thursday. a wave heights building risk of sneaker waves and rip currents. a live view from emeryville. and it is slick out there overnight into the morning. rain and areas of fog. wednesday. pattern change starts and for thanksgiving it will be dry and sunny. weather for the time being. it's a level one rain and showers between tonight and tomorrow morning. brief downpours to the south. breezy in spots so 3:00 in the morning you are seeing that steady rain down to our south. scattered showers at 5:00 in the
