delay and it is scary stowaway situation on the delt caflight. >> good morning, we know there's a parade of americans with a full day ahead, rushing out the door to fly to thanksgiving and head to the feast after they land. but that stowaway situation is raising concerns, a person who, authorities say, slipped past multiple people. >> announcer: this is the captain, we are awaiting the police to come on board. >> reporter: a new investigation into a stowaway passenger who authorities say, snuck past multiple agents, to board the international flight. and bypassed the podium at the jfk-airport and went through the metal detectors and snuck past the delta agent at the gate to board the flight to paris. delta says it's conducting an exhaustive investigation, and fbi is aware of the investigation . the flight had to be rerouted

are definitely getting out there. >> and how about gas prices, where do we stand on that, gee gio? >> gio: good news, the average price of the gallon of regular unleaded $.0-- $ good news, you can drive around and perhaps that's one of the reasons we are seeing many on the road. >> rebecca: we will take it where we can get it. >> whit: silver lining. sam has the check on the weather. we see the ponchos and umbrellas, it will be a mess in some places. >> sam: it is a mess in some places but good news, dry air is pulling up in the southern part of this storm, a storm that put itself together in the middle of the country, now moving into the northeast. so with all of the northeastern travel, it could slow people down today, this is a part of the country that also needs this rain. look at that snow, northern pennsylvania, into new york state, and i think the philly

forecast is gonna improve as we go through the parade time. so, east winds 15-25 miles an the baloans are fine, rain chance: light rain throughout the parade, but the heavier rain may be past us. looking into new york and boston, heavy rain continues throughout the day. new york is not done until 2, boston maybe 5. and, look at the snow pulling in behind the low. this low continues to strengthen and it's a shot of super-cold air that's pulled in behind with it. this is some of the coldest air of the season, making its way deep into the eastern seaboard, places like georgia and florida you will be part of this cold air. we will be back with a complete forecast a bit later, guys? >> whit: thanks we will check back with you in a minute. >> gio: no rain drowns out his joy, and stepping up security at the parade, our senior correspondent, aaron katersky joins us, good morning, aaron. >> reporter: good morning, gio, happy thanksgiving with

the israel-hamas war. >> we will not accept violence or disruption in this parade. >> reporter: another law enforcement document obtained by abc news, addresses vehicle ramming, a tactic employed by threat actors, sanitation trucks and vehicles are parked along the parade rout. with no specific or credible threat, gio, the biggest threat to this year's parade may be the weather, it's raining and the wind is not too bad, so the balloons should be able to soar, giving us another reason in the city to look up. gio? >> gio: i love that, hoping that the weather stays calm. thank you, aaron so much. whit? >> whit: now to the breaking news overnight, three americans freed in the prisoner swap, landing home in time for the holiday, after the negotiations by the biden administration, involving the president, himself.

administration. tracking this for us in west palm beach, good morning, jay. >> we learned of 7 security ins-- incidents, including swatting and pipe bomb threats, targeting the home of the president trump cabinet picks. pete hegseth, and his wife were home when they were alerted to the credible threat. and, stefanik, of new york the pick for u.n. aims ambassador, there are multiple investigations on ongoing, but no explosive devices reported. they called the threats "unamerican" and saying they will be undeterred in their business of planning the president elect's second term, rebecca? >> rebecca: we are learning, jay, about an overnight high-stakes call between president elect trump and the president of mexico, after trump threatened that country

with sweeping tariffs, what do we know now? >> reporter: both the president elect and mexical president, called it productive. mexican they talked about migration on that call, president elect says the mexican president agreed to, in his words, stop migration through mexico, effectively closing the u.s.-mexican boarder and the president of mexican will aide migrants before they reach the border and her position is to not close borders but with to build bridges between governments and people. rebecca? >> rebecca: jay o'brien, thank you. gio? >> gio: back to philadelphia, they are gearing up for the oldest thanksgiving parade in the nation. rhiannon is right there. there's an all-star line up of special guests in philly, what have you got? >> reporter: good morning from the soggy philadelphia. don't worry, we won't let a bit of rain dampen the

excitement for the 105-year-old parade. we are here on the rout, in just less than two hours people will be lining these streets many of whom have been coming to this parade for their entire lives and what a show they will see. they will see performers, marching bands, floats, and, yes, balloons. get ready for the walk down memory lane, the balloons this year are extra special, look behind me, the tazmanian devil. this is the beginning. we also have rudolph the red nosed reindeer. the abominable snowman. my little pony, tweetie bird and the list goes on and on and on. and the big guest of honor today is santa claus. santa claus will end the parade,ushering in the official start of the holiday season, so much excitement here in philadelphia. and for those who can't join us in philly we have you covered, there are so many ways to watch this, starting at 9 a.m. eastern time, watch it on hule disney plus, all on

time in one of the truck's massive blind spots. this red car drives below the truck drivers' line of sight. becoming invisible, and the truck shifts lanes and then thankfully there were no injuries. >> it's important that drivers of cars realize that truck drivers can't always see you. if you are in a blind zone, make sure you get out of it, safely and quickly as you can. >> so, we buckled up and with help from the virginia tech transportation institute, we get a glimpse of how tough visibility can be when you are in the drivers' seat of an 18-wheeler. >> sitting here in the drivers' seat, i am checking the left mirror, the right mirror, looking in front of us, it looks clear. but look at the drone shot. there are 7 other vehicles and motorcycles all-around us, there's a motorcycle in front of us, to the left of the truck. another semi-truck behind us. all sitting in blind spots. >> large trucks have not one,

but four blind spots. referred to as "no zones", there's no rear-view mirror, the no-zone in the back stretches 200 feet, the most dangerous area is to the right, where the no-zone, spans more than 3 lanes. this is why passing on the left side, where the blind spot is smaller, is critical. and, once you have passed, the experts say, wait until you see the entire front of the truck in your own rear-new mirror, before merging in front of it it avoid an oftentimes forgotten blind spot below the truck's fender. it the there's a motorcycle in front of us, i don't see it at all. >> a fully loaded semi, can weigh up to 80,000 pounds and takes the length of a football field to stop. >> people pass a truck, get in front of it, and slow down, sometimes that truck driver doesn't have the time to react and it could end in a rear-end collision. give them extra space so the

cheese cloths everywhere on social media. is that a thing? >> guest: it is, we tested this, you see cheese cloth draped over the bird, what it does is traps the moisture, slows down the breast, like the shield here, but the plus-up from that, cheese cloths were soaked in water. and, you can see we used a little bit of bacon. >> now we are talking! [ laughter ] >> yeah. >> so -- >> this is what upgrades it. >> this approach works awesome. drape this wet cheesecloth over the top, and ash low the pork to render and crisp and add so much flavor to the turkey. allow and moving over to the gravy. >> whit: you have that one, erica, hacks to make it perfect? >> guest: i love to use the turkey drippings in the gravy to add flavor and the secret ingredient is soy sauce. >> really? >> guest: great way to add

>> brussel sprouts i have plumped apricots and shallots. this is the base of the vinaigrettes, with toasted nuts. this is a warm mustar vinaigrette. that's key, mustard you put this on greens and it will wilt them just a bit. you would not want to do this on a leafy green salad, good for these guys, though. and, toss it up here, you want to help me finish this? >> ricotta salada, we put that on top, and watercress, adding a peppery fresh bite to it. beautiful. gorgeous, shows up on the table and everyone is so welcomed, because of the rest of the meal is soft, this is crunchy and delicious. >> man, looks good. >> now you don't have to cook them and now the house doesn't sound like brussel sprouts.

i asked my 5-year-old, what she wanted she says macaroni and cheese, you have a 20-minute version. >> guest: creamy mac and cheese, good old fashioned american cheese makes this creamy and delicious, balanced it out with extra-sharp cheddar, and this is the panko and butter topping. you add in the parmesan cheese. stir together and season it up with a little salt. a little pepper in there, too. and, then ... take some of that delicious panko-topping and sprink teleright on top. so you get all of the deliciousness from a baked mac & cheese but with in 20 minutes. sprinkle that on top no oven needed. easy-peasey. >> dan, we will level up the

mashed potatoes? >> guest: this is a sacret dish, we are using the same ingredients, buter and milk. sacred we are browning the butter, i don't know if you can smell the nuttiness, incredible. you cook the butter over the medium-low heat, until you see the beautiful flecks of brown here, we have that in the potatoes and then we finish it, it will smell amazing and you drizzle that over the top. at the table, and people go ooh and ah, and love it. classic mashed potatoes with a beautiful twist on it. >> whit: i have been trying the butternut squash. >> guest: we have the browned butter and we have crunchy roasted hazel nuts, and we finish it off with lemon juice. let's let that sizzle. water. just stir that all together. and then i will spoon it right on over ... beautiful .
