now abc seven mornings live now at five. >> a san francisco security guard shot and killed by police when officers say happened. hours before this shooting. but first, an east bay restaurant in its final days. why? the owner says a ladies night promotion led to a devastating lawsuit. and we're getting ready for another round of rain across the bay area. lisa is tracking the very latest on this level one storm. good morning everybody. >> hi there. yes, we have the

level one system today and tomorrow before two stronger systems get here for the last week of the year. and as we look at live doppler seven. wow. lightning strikes to the north of us. now we could see an isolated thunderstorm. but basically we're looking at the rain moving into the north bay right now and the lightning, the best chance up towards ukiah could see a thunderstorm slip to the south. but overall, this level one system will provide the breezy winds and the rain showers for the north bay and then spreading across the bay. you can see wind gusts up to 21 miles an hour along the coast. scattered showers, rough and dangerous surf. breezy winds. visibility reduced here to just over two miles in livermore. one mile in concord. two miles up in novato. and here's a look at the winds will be pretty gusty throughout the morning hours and then through the early afternoon. and as we go through your 6:00 hour, it is milder right now with the southerly winds, with temperatures in the upper 40s in the north bay. that's cool. but you can see the

rain moving through the north bay through the 7:00 hour into the east bay, the peninsula, 9:00. we've got cloudy skies, oakland and fremont, but rain in the north bay. and then we continue the trend with the scattered showers throughout your saturday afternoon. notice they become fewer and far between as we get towards the late afternoon. then a break and you guessed it, more rain. another level one arrives for your sunday morning. we'll track that and a look at christmas and hanukkah coming up. stephanie. >> all right, lisa. thank you. today, family, friends and community members will gather for the funeral of one of the students killed in that crash that rocked the piedmont community last month. they will honor and remember the life of jack nelson on november 27th. he and his two friends, sean dixon and krista sukara, were in a truck when it veered off a road and slammed into a retaining wall and a tree, causing it to erupt in flames. all three were in college, visiting home during holiday break. they graduated

from piedmont high. a fourth person in the car survived the crash. they were pulled out of that burning tesla by another driver passing by in the east bay. now, a family run restaurant is reportedly shutting down because it held a ladies night promotion and had to settle a discrimination lawsuit. now, due to financial concerns, the owner of lima in concord says she's forced to close at the end of the year. here's abc seven news reporter tara campbell. >> reporter the sign on the door makes the closure clear. while inside, customers are enjoying one last cocktail. one more meal at lima. >> it's just sad. it's just so sad. reporter. >> the family run restaurant in downtown concord has been around for nearly nine years, and is now set to close permanently at the end of the month. >> i mean, i love this place. i, you know, it's like they're like family to us. >> the owner telling us they haven't been able to fully bounce back from the cost of settling a recent discrimination lawsuit related to discounting

drinks for women on its ladies night. >> a frivolous lawsuit that took us down. and it's this ambulance chasing lawyers. >> several similar lawsuits have been filed throughout the country, taking aim at variations of ladies night, including earlier this year in fresno, when its minor league baseball team was sued over a ladies night promotion. >> it was exactly that discrimination over ladies night. >> did it surprise you? were you shocked by that? >> i was a lot. yeah. i've never seen. i see ladies night everywhere else. >> according to the state, gender based promotions like ladies night's can land businesses in legal trouble violating california's civil rights act. here at lima, the cost of the lawsuit just piled on to an already tough time, with high inflation driving up the cost of getting these meals to the table. >> with restaurants, it's already the profit margins are razor thin, and stuff like this does not help business at all. it's just i don't know what should be done about it. maybe the city or the state should change some rules to help out the small businesses.

>> and these customers agree. >> it's very sad to see a lot of family run places in, in downtown concord disappearing, and soon it won't be the same for these servers or staff here soon to be out of a job. >> i'm really, really disappointed and sad. i was getting really accustomed to the community and knowing all the regulars that come to the restaurant, these regulars fitting in as much time as they can before the doors close on december 31st. >> a lot of people that come here, that enjoy this place, and it's that this is the end of it. >> tara campbell, abc seven news. >> a south san francisco high school put on lockdown after a suspect scaled a fence and trespassed into a classroom. the incident caused a police standoff. school officials say the students were directed to safety as police responded. officers arrested the suspect. no students or school staff were

injured during the incident. now to the investigation into a deadly shooting near san francisco's union square. a bizarre series of events led to a police shooting and killing of a security guard overnight on friday. the security guard has been identified as 50 or 50 year old peter hodge. police say he hit two teenage girls with his car at sutter and kearney while trying to chase down a man on an e-bike who had scraped his car. a source tells abc seven news. hodge eventually hit the back of the delivery driver's bicycle, and police say witnesses saw the cyclist run off. hours later, officers shot hodge outside the union square dior store, where they believe he worked as a security guard. it's still unclear what led up to the shooting. hodge's family in connecticut was shocked to hear the news. he's a good guy. >> he helped out my kids. the best he could from, you know, 3000 miles away. but it's

definitely surreal. doesn't feel like it's real at the moment. >> sfpd says it's still an ongoing investigation. the police department is expected to hold a town hall within the next ten days. we're getting new insight into the tip that put luigi mangione on the radar of san francisco police before he was a murder suspect. sfpd released this missing person poster of mangione back in november. mangione, his mother, had filed a missing persons report about her son here in san francisco on november 18th. that was 16 days before he allegedly shot and killed unitedhealthcare ceo brian thompson in new york city. mangione is facing three state murder charges, including two terrorism counts. he is scheduled to make his first court appearance in new york city on monday. a coffee brewing business duo is moving their shop from silicon valley to here in san francisco. it was after a break in at their new site and now. abc seven news south bay

reporter lauren martinez is seeing the community rally around them. >> silicon valley coffee is bringing together new tech and roasting coffee, and you can customize each setting according to exactly how you want your coffee made. the two person company was founded by matt baker and vance bjorn, former tech workers. their lab is in menlo park. >> we call it the coffee lab, and it's kind of to help analyze coffee. >> three weeks ago, they started renovating a massive 6000 square foot space in san francisco on fourth street and townsend, across from caltrain. on sunday, they discovered two people broke in. baker found a cell phone left behind. >> when i looked at the cell phone and i read a text message conversation on how to break into our property. >> baker said. san francisco police found two people using heroin at the back side of the property. they arrested them, but that's as far as it went, and we were kind of befuddled about an hour later when we saw them letting them go. >> the next day, we came back just to find that everything was

stolen. >> they were hit twice in 24 hours. >> i was kind of drained of energy. >> baker took to reddit to express frustration, but also asked the question, how is the best way to handle this? >> we are too excited to let something like this set us back. >> after the post came an outpouring of support from the community and the city. >> they're waiving all the permitting fees, and we have been getting emails from different departments asking them, asking us how they can help. i mean, when does a city email you? >> if anything, the amount of support has re-energized them to open their cafe. >> i can't wait to have people in there. i can't wait to light up that entire block. >> it can really provide a lot of space for community and that's what we want to accomplish there. >> silicon valley coffee plans to be open in the spring in menlo park. lauren martinez, abc seven news. >> we're hearing from another bay area victim of an air boat collision in the florida everglades. the crash sent

players, coaches and family members of a pittsburgh youth football team into the water. david tolson and his family from antioch were traveling with the team. the airboat the tolsons were riding in collided with another boat. now 16 people were injured in this crash. david suffered a broken arm and five broken ribs. his wife and two young sons are also recovering from injuries. >> one of the worst feelings you can feel as a man to not be able to protect your family. >> florida's fish and wildlife conservation commission is now investigating this crash. tolson's attorney says the airboat tour company was negligent. a statement on the company's website says, quote, wooten's everglades airport tours. regrets that a collision involving two airboats occurred. we immediately contacted local area emergency authorities, who responded rapidly to the scene, providing care to the passengers. all right, let's get you outside this morning. good morning. lisa.

spread of bird flu. the virus is ravaging poultry and dairy farms across the state. in fact, two thirds of the state's dairies are not under quarantine because of the virus now. california is the nation's largest dairy producer. this comes days after governor newsom declared a state of emergency over the illness. >> the overall risk to the public remains low. 35 of our 36 human cases in california are the direct result of exposure to infected cattle. >> health officials say they are working hard to get the problem under control. all but one of the human cases of bird flu have been in farm workers in the state, but more cases are being reported across the country in people without known contact with animals. new developments charges were dropped against the last alameda police officer involved in the death of mario gonzalez. the alameda county da's office says the charges were dismissed against eric mckinley because of inconsistent

statements made by a forensic pathology expert about gonzalez's cause of death. charges against the other two officers involved were previously dismissed because the da missed the deadline to file charges. gonzalez died in april of 2021 after officers responded to a call of a man behaving strangely. officers restrained him on the ground, with one officer putting an elbow on his neck and a knee on his shoulder, pinning him down for more than five minutes until he lost consciousness. the city of oakland will soon have 24 new police officers. they join a force struggling with staffing in a city struggling to pay millions in a police overtime. abc seven news reporter anser hassan has the very latest. who are we? >> what are troc one? dismiss. >> it was a proud moment for these new police academy graduates, and an important moment for the city of oakland as it gets 24 new police

officers. >> you will learn to use discretion and to. not everyone needs to or has to go to jail or receive a ticket. in many situations, discretion is the better part of valor. >> this is the first academy to graduate under police chief floyd mitchell's watch. officer nathaniel larson was the academy's valedictorian. he says he knows the city of oakland faces challenges, but that's all the more reason to come to oakland. >> for me, i want to be able to give the most or give back to a community that may need the most help. so i'm up for every challenge there is, and i want to be able to be a good officer and be able to give back to a great community. >> interim mayor nikki fortunato bass spoke, highlighting the diversity of this academy. i want to ask the women of this academy to please stand up so that we can appreciate you. one of them was maia williams, who grew up in richmond. >> it's a tough city, but it's full of people who are tough, people who love the city, people who want to see it be better, do better. and when i chose to become a police officer, i knew

exactly where i wanted to be, and that was oakland. >> but these graduates come into a department that is struggling with staffing, and a city that is struggling to pay the millions in overtime. new budget cuts passed this week include reducing police overtime spending by $25 million. for the past few weeks, the mayor has been meeting weekly with the police chief to monitor spending. >> i'll be joining the meeting on monday, and i want oaklanders to know that there's going to be a focus on ensuring officers are out on patrol, and they're also out on investigations, and so that means we are making sure our resources are going into responding and solving crimes. >> anser hassan abc seven news. >> one of the organizers of the recall effort against san jose city council member omar torres is now looking to take torres's former job. matthew quevedo announced he's running to fill the now vacant district three council seat. quevedo currently works as the mayor's deputy chief of staff, in charge of neighborhood outreach.

>> i see the suffering on the streets when it comes to homelessness. i see the issues in our neighborhoods when it comes to public safety. i definitely being a downtown residents, we do see the issues of blight and the need for beautification. >> the district three seat opened up when omar torres resigned last month while being investigated for child sexual misconduct. he has since been arrested and charged with three felonies in the south bay. two memorials were held to remember people who died while living on the streets. it also highlights the importance of doing more to help those experiencing homelessness. abc seven news south bay reporter justin dorsey explains the cold, cloudy weather seemed to match the somber mood at san jose city hall friday. >> a memorial for the unhoused remembered by these tombstones after losing their lives this past year. >> a memorial service is for those who have loved and lost, who missed loved ones and must go on living without them. it is

for all of us to remember those that are no longer here. >> those, like infant camila amezcua, 104 year old elaine tanner, and around 200 others who died on santa clara county streets this year. so far, unhoused deaths are down 3% this year compared to last, but the suffering still exists in great amounts. >> if i'm correct, this year set a record for the number of dead babies, the number of dead dead asians, the number of dead females, the number of dead blacks, and more people froze to death in california than anywhere else in the united states, according to the cdc. >> this is the reality of being unhoused. >> james and his mother experienced homelessness, and he says each name, each tombstone are grim reminders of the failures of our society. >> just the suffering that that that's going around. it's really unfortunate. and i just really want to ask the community that

we do more because we can do more. >> leaders in the south bay have been trying to do more for many years, including san jose mayor matt mehan. he says the city has an ambitious goal next year to offer 1000 new safe, managed placements for people living on the streets and urgency brought on by this annual memorial. >> it's a tough day of reflection, but it also, if there is any silver lining, it's that it it kind of forces all of us to just reconnect with why we're doing the work and the harsh reality of things out there, and to recommit ourselves so that next year there are less of these tombstones, maybe even zero. >> one day in san jose, dustin dorsey, abc seven news. >> officials continue to assess the response to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit off the humboldt county coast. that includes a tsunami warning that was quickly canceled. now we're hearing from a bay area author researching the impacts that could happen here locally

in the future. this is video from a 2011 quake in japan that sent this tsunami all the way across the pacific and into the santa cruz harbor. it caused $100 million in damages alone, and they've happened here long before that. richard schwartz recently published a book that talks about the tsunami that wreaked havoc after the great quake of 1906. >> there are local little events that wind up in the paper, along with the bigger catastrophe. and there was so much chaos after the earthquake. nobody much cared or looked at the smaller events because there was so much to deal with, and then they were just lost. >> so everyone was focused. after the oh six quake on the damage from the quake, the fire and everything else that some of these tsunamis and just fell underneath the radar under the ones that happened. >> but there was so much more fear of tsunamis back then.

>> interesting. richard says people were so scared of a tsunami after that oh six quake that they then camped out in the oakland hills for days. his new book is called earthquake exodus 1906. berkeley responds to the san francisco refugees. well, in the north bay, marin county officials have reopened bolinas beach, but with several warnings for visitors. the popular beach was closed in september after a seeping liquid, thought to be human waste, was discovered at a nearby cliff, but samples taken in september and november did not find any human waste. there was evidence of chronic fecal contamination from multiple sources, including wildlife and pet waste. they say the bluffs are also unstable and prone to erosion and collapse. signs will soon be posted warning about the potential dangers. now, speaking of, the series of storms in route are expected to bring some dangerous ocean conditions. lisa is tracking the very latest on that and some wet days for us.

>> yes, it looks like a couple of weak systems before we get to the stronger ones, which the biggest one coming in is the soonest i should say is midday monday into christmas eve. and then we have another one after that that could be increased to a level two. but what we're seeing today is a level one. and tomorrow with the focus in the north bay. so as we head outside right now, you can see all the lightning strikes and not ruling out a rumble of thunder. thunder. but this certainly won't be like what we saw last week. the activity in terms of thunderstorm and lightning activity will be to the north of us, along the coast. there we're getting closer and you can see as far north as ukiah is where that lightning activity is. and then further south, looking at the showers that are beginning to move in to the coast here from jenner to bodega bay and still dry in santa rosa, that's going to change. and a lot of the activity headed into the north bay becomes more scattered throughout the afternoon. and that high surf advisory is certainly something we're keeping our eyes on until 4:00

on sunday, where we could see breakers as high as 20ft and of course, those rip currents. so things really getting going throughout the next day or so. conditions very dangerous out there. so keep that in mind if you're headed to the shoreline 53 in hayward right now. so a lot of 50s out there, upper 50s along the coast. so that's where it's mild. it's cool. it's foggy in parts of the north bay and east bay, anywhere from a couple degrees to about 13 degrees warmer out there this morning, 14 degrees warmer along the peninsula. so winter has arrived. it arrived at about 130 right before 130 this morning. cold winter rain the next couple of days. not a whole lot of precip accumulation, especially for the east bay and south bay. then we've got a wet and windy pattern for next week. but christmas, hanukkah trending dry and cloudy with a nice break before some stronger storms arrive after christmas. a pretty strong one for christmas eve. wind gusts up to 21 miles an hour. timing out the next several days you can see 6:00.

we've got rain in the north bay, and then as we go through about 10:00, you can see the scattered showers elsewhere. san francisco, the east bay, the afternoon, some breezy winds, the breeze will begin to dial back, and we've got a bit of a break throughout the afternoon. this is tomorrow morning, 24 hours away. we've got some showers. the next system sunday night into monday, and then you can see another big break here. so if you add up the rainfall through saturday and sunday, notice not a whole lot out there for the south bay. maybe 2/10 in hayward and upwards of a half inch to an inch in the north bay. if you're traveling, check it out. 40s and 50s in the pacific northwest. so cool there. and we're looking at dry and nice conditions for the middle of the country. had some snow in the northeast and some 30s up there by new york. so looking at cool and dry for hanukkah on wednesday, cloudy skies in the 50s. christmas. it's a nice break after some pretty good rain monday into

in alleged fraud issues involving zelle. it's an issue closely followed by seven on your side. the consumer financial protection bureau filed suit against zelle operator as well as bank of america, jp morgan chase and wells fargo. the suit claims zelle failed to implement proper fraud prevention safeguards, and the banks failed to properly investigate customer complaints. according to the suit, bank customers lost more than $870 million since zelle went into business seven years ago. and we're following this good news. warehouse giant costco is getting bigger. it's opening

the wire vote in just a few hours. president joe biden expected to sign it into law. good morning, everybody. thank you for joining us. this half hour, lisa is tracking the very latest on this wet weather that's coming our way. >> yeah, winter has arrived overnight and we're talking about some cold showers starting out in the north bay. you can see the lightning strikes. that's well up to the north. we could hear a rumble of thunder, but not likely. we're looking at the showers focusing on the north bay to start the day, then scattered showers throughout the rest of the day. a level one system. bodega bay. what? wet right now. rain moving into santa rosa and it's foggy. so scattered showers today. rough and dangerous. surf the breezy winds and look at the visibility. a quarter of a mile in concord, a half a mile in novato. and look at the gusty winds from the coast this morning. and then by the afternoon. not as breezy, but we've got those returns lighting up in the north bay, spreading across oakland, the peninsula early afternoon, and you can see the bulk of the day, some rain in the north bay and just

showers elsewhere. so accumulation focused in the north through early tomorrow. we'll talk about sunday's level one system and when we will see stronger systems as soon as monday afternoon into christmas eve. stephanie. >> all right. lisa. thank you. we're taking a live look now at the nation's capitol this morning, where lawmakers closely avoided a holiday crisis at the very last minute. the house and senate passed a funding bill keeping the government open through mid-march, despite pushback from president elect donald trump. both parties were able to come to an agreement. abc news reporter johny fernandez has the details. >> democratic and republican lawmakers moved to halt a government shutdown set to occur before christmas on friday, the house passing a short term spending bill to keep the government open through march 14th. the senate passing the bill after the 1201 deadline. the bill gives $100 billion for disaster aid, 30 billion for farmers and a one year extension

of the farm bill. >> we will not have a government shutdown, and we will meet our obligations for our farmers who need aid for the disaster victims all over the country, and for making sure that military and essential services, and everyone who relies upon the federal government for a paycheck is paid over the holidays. >> house democratic leader hakeem jeffries, praising the passage of the government funding bill. >> this is a victory for the american people. we have successfully advanced the needs of everyday americans. but there are still things to be worked on and we look forward to that fight in the new year. >> this comes as elon musk called the bill a crime because, like many bills, it included spending for many other areas. he threatened the republicans who supported it, saying they deserved to be voted out. and trump pushed for republicans to raise the debt ceiling. the debt ceiling is how much the

government is able to borrow, which will hit next year after trump is inaugurated president, potentially posing a challenge for his presidency. trump told republicans that without it, a deal shouldn't be made. the bill is set to head to president biden's desk to be signed. johny fernandez, abc news, new york. >> president joe biden approved the largest military aid package the u.s. has ever granted to taiwan. the president announced the u.s. would be giving $570 million to the taiwan military. military that is, part of the funds will go towards military education and training. taiwan remains a major point of contention between the u.s. and china. biden has said he hopes for the chinese military activity around taiwan to end. developing news overnight the death toll in the attack on a christmas market in germany has risen to five, including a child, according to officers. a doctor intentionally drove into the crowded market filled with

holiday shoppers. you're looking at video of the scene here. at least 200 others were injured. the suspect is in custody. this morning. the chancellor of germany visited the crash site. abc news reporter zohreen shah has more on the investigation. >> horror before the holidays after a car plowed into people visiting a christmas market in magdeburg, germany, the attack killing at least two and injuring about 60 others, according to german security officials. this is the moment a car captured on cctv suddenly drove into the evening market, plowing through the holiday crowds at high speeds. a suspect has been arrested in the attack that sent shoppers fleeing in panic. u.s. law enforcement sources told abc news. according to german authorities, the suspect is a doctor from saudi arabia who has been living in germany since 2006. they say he drove a rental car through the market. the incident triggering a major emergency response with the city center and the market both closed and littered with

debris. the motive is unknown at this time. magdeburg is about a two hour drive west of berlin. zohreen shah, abc news, los angeles. >> the fda has approved the first prescription drug for obstructive sleep apnea. the weight loss drug rebound is part of the class known as glp one receptor agonists. that include ozempic. it was cleared to treat moderate to severe forms of the sleep condition in people with obesity. drug maker eli lilly says it should be used with diet and exercise. obstructive sleep apnea affects as many as 30 million people across the u.s. a record breaking number of americans are enrolling in obamacare for the new year. what is also known as the affordable care act is on track for 16.6 million people enrolled for coverage. 2 million of those people are new signups. enrollment for obamacare has hit record signups for the past four

our santa cruz camera right along the boardwalk there. it's 540 over in the east bay. oakland is going to be holding a special election for a new mayor in april. barbara lee's name is being floated as a possible candidate, the congresswoman announced on social media she'll make a decision in early january. lee wants to wrap up her term first. speaking of, a lawsuit has been filed to try and stop the expansion of the

oakland airport. the stop oak expansion coalition claims the port of oakland, which runs the airport, is in violation of state laws. it's in part because the port has not requested a health impact assessment from alameda county. the lawsuit also claims the expansion would increase flights at the airport by 55% and increase air pollution in east oakland. we're getting a live look at sfo this morning as people head out for the holidays. i'm seeing at least 20 or more flight cancellations in the past 24 hours in this area. transportation officials are expecting a record number of travelers to go through tsa this weekend, so be sure to check your flight and give yourself some extra time. this comes as flights to and from the northeast have been impacted by the cold weather. reporter laura aguirre brings us the very latest. >> pack your patience, please. it's going to be busy across the nation. >> the tsa predicts another record travel week ahead starting today through sunday

after christmas, we will see probably our busiest time period since the pandemic. if you're flying, you'll be squeezing through the nation's tsa lines with an estimated nearly 40 million other people in the coming days, and mother nature is coming along for the ride, starting with a dump of snow across parts of the great lakes and northeast today that forced a temporary ground stop, then delay at chicago's o'hare airport, causing a ripple effect at other hubs. with over 3700 delayed or canceled flights at one point today. forecasters say this wintry mix of snow and rain could last into saturday, which could cause delays. no matter how you're heading out, most people drive to their holiday destinations. >> 107 million people are expected to take road trips. >> looking ahead, a new system of storms is rolling toward the west coast on target to deliver heavy rain from seattle to san francisco. then that system tracks east, eventually delivering a round of wet weather to portions of the great lakes and northeast early next

see the instability with the lightning strikes. a rumble of thunder. not out of the question for the north bay, but also not very likely with most of the energy to the north. so certainly not a repeat performance of last saturday. but as we go in closer, you can see the rain showers spreading into the north bay from cloverdale to ukiah, down into santa rosa, and very little happening right now, but you'll notice the returns off the coast occidental there and closer to the shoreline. we do have the wind from bolinas and olema, and then we'll get into the fog in the east bay and eventually a few showers there. also a high surf advisory kicking up through tomorrow, 4:00 right now, 8 to 9ft. but we could see the swells as high as 20ft. and right now it is 50 in san rafael, with 50 in san francisco, 54 in oakland. so certainly mild with all the cloud cover. but it's cool. in the north bay. we do have fog in the east bay. temperatures are held up from the peninsula as

well. and then you'll see the cloud cover throughout the rest of the afternoon if you're not seeing some light shower activity. quarter mile visibility in concord. notice that mile and a quarter up through novato. so it is certainly kind of dicey out there that conditions getting a little bit worse throughout the morning hours. winter arrived while you were sleeping. so some cold rain throughout the day tomorrow morning. then we get a bit of a break before a stronger storm arrives later on monday into christmas eve. and that starts our wet and windy pattern that continues through the week ahead. christmas day and hanukkah will be dry. we need that break the rain focusing in on the north bay, and we could have some flooding by the end of the workweek. here's a look at the rain chances today. notice you know they're out there. it's not extreme, but once again, you'll notice that the forecast futurecast shows that the yellows are mainly up into the north bay. scattered showers throughout the late morning hours mid-morning into the afternoon from the east bay. then there's a break. here is

sunday morning, so a few more light showers from the east bay to the south bay. another level one for sunday. and then as we get into tomorrow night, a stronger system into monday. and then looking at that possible level two as we get into christmas eve, we'll have to keep you posted on that. that's a look at later monday adding up the rainfall today and tomorrow. the focus anywhere from a half inch to close to about 8/10 up in the north bay, a quarter of an inch in parts of the east bay, and lesser amounts in the south bay. but through the next week, look at the focus of the rain over two and perhaps three quarter inches in santa rosa with an inch down in the city. so looking at the streams and rivers, perhaps getting into some trouble there, some minor flooding by the end of next week after christmas. 62 in fremont, 55 in napa with those scattered showers. level one system today, tomorrow and then into late night monday. the rain picks up
