in gaza as part of the captivity israel-hamas ceasefire deal are now back on israeli soil after 471 days in captivity. >> three women, 24 year old romi gonin, 28 year old emily de mari and 31 year old darren steinbrecher are now free. >> we cannot imagine the horrors these three young women have endured in 15 months of hamas captivity. >> relatives of romi goren, overcome with emotion after hearing the news. emily de mari all smiles in the photo as she was reunited with her mother. this was the scene in gaza just moments before the women were released. hamas men gathered around the red cross convoy. a crowd gathered to watch the exchange. under this first phase of the deal, 33 hostages will be released over the next six weeks, including two americans, keith samuel siegel and sigi duquenne. sigi has three daughters, the youngest born after he was taken captive. >> his wonderful wife was seven months pregnant and

users, ending a 14 hour long shutdown brought on by a ban of the platform. today, a message visible to users who reopened the app credited president elect donald trump for its return. itt was trump's executive order back in 2020 that led to the bipartisan bill banning the app. now, trump's incoming national security advisor says trump's team is working to save it. >> we're confident that we can save tiktok, but also protect americans data and protect them from influence, whether that's an outright sale, whether that's some mechanism of firewalls to make sure that the data is protected here on u.s. soil. that's what the president will be evaluating. >> trump says he plans on issuing another executive order after his inauguration monday to temporarily delay the ban. he's also proposing the u.s. take a 50% ownership position in tiktok as part of a, quote, joint venture. now, even before president elect trump takes office, protests are happening, including here in san francisco.

the people united will never be defeated. okay, this was the scene at civic center this afternoon. more than 60 bay area community groups mobilized their protesting campaign promises, they say are far right and backed by billionaires. organizers say it was one of the more than 70 rallies to take place across the country today. fl preparations are underway for president elect donald trump's second inauguration. tomorrow morning's ceremony was moved indoors to the capitol rotunda due to the frigid temperatures expected in washington. reporter john paul is live for us now at the nation's capitol with a look at these preparations. john. >> yeah, a lot of preparations underway tonight, john. the president elect had a very busy day today in washington, d.c, starting things out at arlington national cemetery and then holding what he called a victory rally at capital one arena, where heo talked about the executive action that he wants to take. soon after being sworn in for a

[jim valvano] don't give up. don't ever give up® a round of santa ana winds this week as firefighters make more progress on the deadly eaton and palisades fires. los angeles county will be under a red flag warning for extreme fire danger starting tomorrow morning. the eaton fire, which is charred more than 14,000 acres, is now 81% contained and the palisades fire scorched 23,700 acres and is now 52% contained. evacuation orders were lifted for dozens of areas this weekend, and so far, the fires are blamed for at least 27 deaths. search and rescue dogs are looking for possible human remains. >> 35 years ago, a husband was cremated and that was we his remains were. the dog was able to detect that. so it's been cremated, and through a second fire, the dog was able to pinpoint within about a one foot

officials say a child got swept into the ocean at cowell ranch state beach, and an adult went into the water after the child. they both were caught in a rip tide before being rescued by firefighters. their conditions are not known. now that incident, the reason the national weather service issued a beach hazard statements. officials are warning to watch for sneaker waves, which can knock people off their feet and quickly pull them into the ocean. rip tide currents are also stronger than normal. the beach hazard statement extends from the coastal north bay, including point reyes national seashore, all the way down to southern monterey bay and big sur. it all runs through 7 p.m.

tomorrow. we'll check it out. pier 39 is celebrating the 35th anniversary of california sea lions on its docks. the pinnipeds began arriving a few months after the loma prieta earthquake hit san francisco back in october of 1989. by january of 1990, a colony of the barking sea lions completely took over pier 39, kdoc. a record of more than 2100 sea lions visited in may and june of last year, and you can celebrate the anniversary by sharing memories on social media with the hashtag pier 39 sea lions. oh, they are so entertaining, aren't they? they really are. >> i mean, when they fight you, when they fight, or when they try to communicate with you, you know, sometimes they're looking at you and it's like they want to talk, you know, or be fed or be fed, which they always do. well, let's take a look at what's going on with our weather right now. we've got high pressure, the controlling factor in our weather right now, bringing us mainly clear skies for the next few days. low

pressure down south is a factor for southern california residents concerned about the wildfires, because winds are regenerating and becoming quite strong and potentially dangerous there again. but our winds right here are relatively calm and normal. right now. we have wind speeds up to about 17mph here in san francisco. however, our winds are going to intensify overnight. in fact, a wind advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. tomorrow to 1 a.m. tuesday for the north bay interior mountains, where sustained winds will be out of the north at about 20 to 30mph, with gusts up to 55mph. so there could be some downed tree limbs and power outages. here's our wind gusts animation. notice by 1:00 tomorrow afternoon, we'll have gusts ranging from 30 to over 40mph in the windiest locations. but the winds will become tamer again late tomorrow night, going into the midnight hour and into tuesday morning. and we have 24 hour temperature change shows it's a bit chillier now by several degrees than at this time yesterday. generally about 2 to 4 degrees cooler, but up at santa rosa it's

eight degrees cooler than at this time yesterday and overnight. we have a frost advisory that will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow, temperatures dropping down to about 33 degrees. and this frost advisory covers the north bay interior valleys, the east bay hills and interior valleys, the santa clara valley and the eastern santa clara hills. let's take a look at what's happening right now. we have temperature readings right now in the upper 40s at san francisco, oakland and hayward, 51 degrees at san jose. upper 40s also at redwood city and half moon bay. beautiful. clear view from mount tam, now looking down onto the bay. we have mid 40s right now at santa rosa and petaluma, 42 at napa, 43 at fairfield, 47 apiece at concord and livermore. and looking across the embarcadero from our rooftop camera. these are the forecast headlines overnight. cold with a frost advisory tomorrow. gusty with a wind advisory in effect. and by midweek we'll be looking at sunny and much warmer weather. we also have a beach hazards statement still in effect until 7:00 tomorrow evening. wave heights are elevated. the
