been saved. >> good evening. thank you for joining us. actor and director justin baldoni raising the stakes tonight in his growing legal battle with one of hollywood's biggest stars, blake lively, his attorney, releasing behind the scenes video from the it ends with us set that he says undermines her sexual harassment claims. her team has responded, saying it's a stunt meant to manipulate the public. here's abc's matt gutman. >> i may not. >> justin baldoni's attorneys following through on a promise. >> long as there are stars. >> we're going to put it out there for the public to decide for themselves. >> releasing raw tape, showing some of what happened on the set of it ends with us. it's the latest move in a hollywood battle royale between baldoni, his pr team, and his costar blake lively. >> without you. >> baldoni's lawyer saying the

video shows all three takes of a slow dance scene. >> we do a score. can we do a score? a couple scores. >> and it's this scene mentioned as part of lively's sexual harassment suit, the court filing by lively stating that during that scene, mr. baldoni chose to let the camera roll and have them perform the scene, but did not act in character as rile. instead, he spoke to miss lively out of character as himself. >> that's cute. you guys are really cute. i think it's more than cute. >> at one point, he leaned forward and slowly dragged his lips from her ear and down her neck as he said, it smells so good. mr. baldoni was caressing miss lively with his mouth in a way that had nothing to do with their roles. >> i'm probably getting a spray tan on you. it smells good. well, it's not that. it's my body makeup. >> lively, also accusing baldoni and his pr team of a smear campaign against her. in the sound. from the recording, you can hear the two talking to each other. at one point, blake even commenting on the size of baldoni's nose. >> i feel so nosy. i know in my

happened, never did. >> so what he's saying is that the allegations against him are false. is he allowed to defend himself? is that the narrative now that you're not allowed to say it's not true? >> this video, released just days after baldoni sued lively and her husband, ryan reynolds, for alleged defamation, extortion and invasion of privacy. after the video's release, lively's legal team filing this letter outlining the multiple cease and desist letters they've previously sent to baldoni's team and said the release of the video and other material to the media continued to advance the campaign of retaliation against lively. >> all right. cut. >> i think we got plenty. >> yes. >> our thanks to matt. we'll continue to cover this case as it unfolds. we turn now to one of entertainment's biggest hit couples from fashion and music, rihanna and asap rocky. the rapper far from the red carpet and instead in a courtroom today on trial for allegedly shooting at a former friend turned rival.

he maintains his innocence. >> in the assault trial against rapper asap rocky is moving forward. the grammy nominated rapper is facing two felony charges related to a 2021 incident. if convicted, mayers could get a maximum sentence of 24 years in prison. >> rapper asap rocky, known for hits like fashion killa with his now real life love rihanna. >> she may never wear it, but she saved it. so our babies will be flier than their parents. >> in solo top charters like praise the lord. >> time to go lock, stock and two smoking barrels. locked and loaded. diamonds. glowing. chart. climbing on them. >> is now in court, facing two felony charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. >> is that how you feel about jury selection? >> the 36 year old rapper, whose given name is rakim mayers, has pleaded not guilty. jury selection is underway in his trial related to a 2021 incident where he has been accused of allegedly shooting at a former friend and rapper known as asap really trouble. >> asap rocky is so fascinating, largely in part because of who

do any part of life by his side. >> fatherhood clearly is important to asap rocky. he even recently, you know, said that he's taken a back seat with his career in a lot of ways to kind of dive into being a father. >> the young family featured in high fashion marketing campaigns for rihanna's brand savage fenty. >> 2025 could be a pretty epic year for asap rocky. first up, he is co-hosting the met gala, and then right after that, the spike lee and denzel washington movie is set to come out. and in the midst of all of that, you have this trial starting to. so depending on what happens with that trial, this could either be the best year of asap rocky's life and career, or the worst year. >> now, asap rocky faces the possibility of being locked away from his two year old and one year old sons for up to 24 years if found guilty. >> but if he's found guilty, he's not seeing any of his children or either of his

children except behind bars, potentially until they're teenagers or even graduating high school. >> on tuesday, asap rocky turned down a plea deal that was offered by prosecutors. he maintains his innocence. his attorney, joe tacopina, telling abc news today he was offered a plea deal but is not interested because he is actually innocent. >> in the 11th hour of his case, the prosecution offers six months, along with three years of probation and seven years of a suspended sentence. it does appear to be quite the gift when you think of the maximum jail time that asap rocky could be facing now. he ultimately turned that offer down and decided to go to trial instead. >> the man who claims he was shot at terell ephron, is a childhood friend of the rapper. >> asap rocky and asap really started off together in asap mob. they were friends for a long time. >> they both broke through with hits like get high as part of asap mob. >> lamborghini, lambo by the

cribs. this is how it is. >> asap rocky quickly became a solo artist and was soon collaborating with some of the biggest names in rap. his hit songs featuring drake, two chainz and kendrick lamar about problems. >> i love and that's my problem. >> reaching the billboard hot 100 charts, their relationship allegedly soured and came to a head on the night of november 6th, 2021, ephron saying bullets grazed his knuckles. asap rocky, arrested for the alleged incident in 2022 after flying back from barbados. >> also, law enforcement after the alleged shooting was at the scene and searched meticulously for any evidence of a shooting and they couldn't find any, namely any shell casings but the shell casings in connection with this case come from asap rocky, who was somehow able to find these shell casings and bring them to law enforcement. >> rocky's defense attorney saying today they plan to call a witness who will testify that the rapper was carrying a prop

gun, not a real one, so it couldn't fire any bullets. this isn't the rapper's first run in with the law. he spent much of the summer of 2019 behind bars in sweden. it became an international incident, with the rapper detained on charges of assault. president trump even calling for his release. >> i have been called by so many people asking me to help. asap rocky. >> he would return to the u.s. and would later be found guilty of assault by a swedish jury. >> what do you want to say to your fans, rocky? >> back in l.a? opening arguments are expected to begin this week. the trial is set to last 2 to 3 weeks. rihanna has yet to be seen at any pretrial hearings, but speculation is mounting if she'll be by his side supporting him in the courtroom. >> having her there potentially could be a distraction for his case, or it could be the greatest thing ever. and i think i would imagine, at least, that his legal team is trying to weigh the pros and cons of what a rihanna appearance could mean for asap rocky in court.
