checking on unhoused folks like francisco and his dog, buddy. >> it's been really, really cold, brother. >> freezing overnight temperatures are expected this week. francisco says he'll camp outside, but appreciates outreach from the safe team. >> they have been nothing but wonderful people. they have given me a lot of support. every time i'll be like, hey, can you guys got water, food, snacks, anything? yeah. of course. here you go. you get a jacket, you need this. you need that. more than what i deserve. >> people don't realize. but when it's really, really cold, you get dehydrated. and water is really, really important. >> people services center executive director elise hempel is concerned about those choosing to sleep outdoors. >> yes, there is a high level of concern, especially on days like this when most of us are enjoying the sunshine in the north bay. but but we know that it's going to get cold, so the safe team is really strategically doing a lot of work to reach out to individuals that they can find. >> experts at flourish are

the bay area. >> you're right about that, diane. as a matter of fact, there's almost no part of the bay area that will escape this deep chill. now we have a frost advisory and a freeze warning, both in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow. the frost advisory. the area in the lighter blue there covers the santa cruz mountains, the east bay hills and the east bay interior valleys. the san francisco bay shoreline. we almost never see a frost advisory for that area and for the north bay interior valleys. now the freeze warning covers the santa cruz uh- the santa clara valley. i beg your pardon? santa clara valley and the eastern santa clara hills. so those areas under the frost advisory will see temperatures dropping down to about 32 degrees. those areas under the freeze warning will see temperatures dropping as low as 28 degrees. and here's a look at our projected lows for tomorrow morning. 26 ukiah 28 lakeport. 31 at livermore, 31 at morgan hill and just about every other location on the map will experience low temperatures in the 30s, with the exception of san francisco

and san rafael. i'll have more on this and the complete accuweather seven day forecast with more cold mornings to come. a little bit later on. >> i'll be getting bundled up. >> yeah. >> please do. all right. spencer. thank you. well, rain in southern california is helping firefighters mop up the remaining wildfires still burning. the eaton fi, which has scorched more than 14,000 acres, is now 95% contained. all evacuations have been lifted. the palisades fire, which charred more than 23,400 acres, is now 90% contained. in northern l.a. county, the hughes fire, which has consumed more than 10,000 acres in northwest l.a. county, is now 92% contained. and in san diego county, the border two fire, which has torched more than 6600 acres, is only 10% contained. now, rainfall across southern california has created a new post fire threat. the fires have put a large area at risk of possible landslides. barriers of sandbags are in place and

k-rails now line the charred hillsides as rain moved into the burn zone. for residents lucky enough to escape the fire, mother nature has them worried once again. >> a little rain would be beneficial, but i am obviously nervous to see if it's going to be too much or what's going to happen. >> i had ptsd from the fire. i said, oh no, now the floods are going to wash away our house. >> crews have been clearing massive amounts of debris brought down by the winds that fueled the firestorm. they're working to collect as much as possible before the rain washes more of it into the storm drains. with president trump's promise of mass deportations already underway, the administration's border czar is defending his team's aggressive approach. the white house says they are initially targeting undocumented immigrants who have committed violent crimes. during an appearance on abc's this week, border czar tom homan told martha raddatz the mass deportation plan is, quote, only in the beginning stages. >> if you're in the country illegally, you're on the table

because it's not okay to violate laws of this country. you got to remember, every time you enter this country illegally, you violated a crime under title eight, united states code 1325. it's a crime. so if you're in the country illegally, you got a problem. and that's why i'm hoping those who are in the country illegally, who have not been ordered removed by the federal judge, should leave. >> homan also warned that there will be collateral arrests, especially in the so-called sanctuary cities resistant to helping immigration and customs enforcement officials locate undocumented immigrants in custody for other crimes. he said ice officers may even go into schools because gang members tied to south and central america are often school age. >> name another agency, another law enforcement agency that has those type of requirements that they can't walk into a school or or a doctor's office or a medical campus. no other agencies held to those standards. >> it's estimated more than 11 million undocumented immigrants are currently living in the u.s. ice doesn't currently have

enough funding, though, from congress to detain all of the undocumented immigrants that the trump administration says it hopes to arrest. now, the first flight of migrants deported from the u.s. to brazil under trump's administration has arrived at its final destination. many of the migrants say they were mistreated by american authorities before leaving. the plane carried 88 brazilian passengers in handcuffs, along with 16 u.s. security agents and eight crew members. the president of colombia has condemned the treatment of migrants as criminals, and said he would not receive any repatriation flights from the u.s. unless colombian migrants were treated with respect and dignity. now, there are many changes happening in the trump administration's first week, and we are keeping track of the first 100 days, and you can as well, all at abc7 news.com and on the abc seven bay area app. classes are canceled indefinitely at an elementary school in vallejo due to a theft

oracle about buying tiktok. the president says he's spoken to many people about the app, and said that hasn't included the head of oracle. a report yesterday suggested that the current owners of tiktok, china based bytedance, would retain a stake in the company, but that oracle would oversee the app's algorithm and data collection. privacy concerns led to a law from congress requiring tiktok to be sold by its chinese owners in order to keep operating in the u.s. treasure seekers showed up in mass to shop the white elephant sale in oakland today. take a look. this is the largest rummage sale in northern california, and people come every year to scavenge the huge warehouse for the best deals. >> we have giant telescopes. we have those old cameras that are

yeah. well bundle up. it's going to be getting cold. here's a look at what's happening with our weather. here's the satellite radar composite image. now this is showing you the little low pressure system that brought some light sprinkles to the bay area yesterday. and a couple of spots this morning. it has pushed well to our south now producing some much needed rainfall to the fire ravaged area of southern california. of course, it may also, if it rains heavily down there, produce some mudslides, which we do not want to see. meanwhile, back here in the bay area, we've got calm wind right now. light winds after a pretty windy morning. and it's cool out there under clear skies. 56 degrees in san francisco and hayward, upper 50s at oakland, san jose, redwood city and 52 at half moon bay. still looking at mainly clear skies. looking down into the bay from mount tam. 57 in santa rosa. 52 in petaluma. mid 50s at napa, fairfield, concord and livermore. and here's the view of the western sky. the setting sun from our vollmer camera. the east bay hills. these are our forecast headlines overnight. we can

expect morning frost and freeze warnings the next few days. we'll have sunny skies, but more cold mornings will be coming our way in the end of the week and into the weekend will bring us increasing clouds and the likelihood of some rainfall. but right now we are focused on this cold air alert that we have here. we have a freeze warning and frost advisory in effect for much of the bay area from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow. the blue area is covered by the frost advisory in those areas, the north bay interior valleys, the east bay hills and interior valleys, the bay shoreline, the santa cruz mountains, and much of the peninsula. those areas covered by the frost advisory will see temperatures dropping down to about 32 degrees. the darker area here, that's the frost. the freeze warning covers the santa clara valley and the east santa clara hills. temperatures will drop down to about 28 degrees in the coldest locations covered by the freeze warning. so looking at overnight lows right here, you can see that almost no area will have low temperatures above 39

degrees except san rafael, a low of 40, and san francisco and expected low of 41. tomorrow's highs not very high at all. we'll have sunny skies, but highs in the afternoon will reach maybe 60 degrees at san rafael, napa, vallejo, concord, oakland, san mateo, livermore, all over, and fairfield, possibly 62. all other areas will have high temperatures under 60 degrees. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. as you can see, we have several sunny days coming our way through wednesday into part of thursday uh- wednesday, of course, marks the beginning of the lunar new year. high temperatures will just be around 60 to 62 degrees through most of the week. then it starts to get even cooler and cloudier at the end of the week. and friday, saturday and sunday may bring us some rainfall. going into the first weekend in february. >> are you already, you know, rubbing your hands together and warm? >> no, i'm just excited to talk about. i saw on social media that we won't have a sunset before five until november, so we're closing in like the sun,
