spencer. >> that's right. chilly new world. here's what's coming our way. zach i'll start with the forecast headlines overnight and into tomorrow morning. we have freeze and frost alerts once again. tomorrow and monday will be sunny days, but with cold mornings. and we have changes coming midweek with a parade of storms coming our way wednesday through friday. but here's a look at our cold air alerts. we have a frost advisory and a freeze warning in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow. the areas in purple are covered by the freeze warning. in those areas, low temperatures may drop down to about 28 degrees in the area. under areas under blue. that's the frost advisory. low temperatures could drop down to about 32. only san francisco and the coastline are not covered by one of these alerts or advisories. so on we go to the specifics. we expect lows of 31 overnight at livermore, 33 vallejo, up in the far north, ukiah and lakeport, 2827 degrees. even san francisco will almost drop into the 30s, but not quite, with a low of 40 degrees. tomorrow sunny skies much like today and yesterday, with high temperatures
11:49 pm
ranging only from 55 to about 58 degrees. so it will be a cool day, but a beautiful one. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast. tuesday clouds start to come into the picture. possibly some evening drizzle. then on wednesday we get a cold storm, cold rain, and maybe even some snow over the bay area peaks on thursday. a strong. fairly strong. some moderately strong. strong with rain and gusty wind. and the rain continues into friday, possibly even into saturday morning. but it looks like we may get some clearing on saturday, just in time for the chinese new year parade. >> which we're broadcasting right here on abc seven. as we've been saying, and spencer and i are going to e there, so we're looking forward to that. hopefully no rain during the parade. thank you spencer. now to chris with a preview of sports. >> hey zach. coming up in sports. what a night for the warriors jimmy butler a fantastic debut in chicago or after the game crew larry o'donnell. break
11:50 pm

butler, making his warriors debut against chicago, where he began his nba career. jimmy started and played 29 minutes and finished with 25 points, went 11 of 13 from the free throw line. so a very nice compliment to one stephen curry. >> you know, they say opposites attract and a lot of ways in life and i, i don't think i could be a better complement to him and vice versa in the sense that they're not leaving him ever. probably two people would never leave him. so there's so much space for everybody else. and i get the easy job, you know, i'm playing one on one or i'm playing in so much space. and then everybody is looking for him and everybody's looking to get him open, and at the same time he's looking for everybody else. so it's so great to play with somebody like that. >> i think the idea that he's like the exact opposite player of me, which is kind of funny, like i'm shooting 16 threes. he shot one, got to the free throw line a lot. he's dominating the
11:54 pm
paint i'm dominating outside the perimeter. guys working around us is has a potential to be really really fun. >> so the warriors one and zero in the jimmy butler era it's early it's early. but if you look at the stats 25 points in 29 minutes, seven of 12 from the field and so important 11 of 13 from the line. free throws are not sexy, but they are effective. >> they're so important. i know, larry, because i saw you so excited when you started making those free throws. but look, here's the thing. it slows the game. it gives you an opportunity to give steph a break. well jimmy makes some free throws. slow down the game giving guys a chance to get back into position. i can't tell you. it may seem like a little thing and it's clearly not sexy. but for steve kerr tonight he's going to sleep a lot better knowing he has a guy like jimmy that he can call on in the fourth quarter and get him, get him 11 free throws. that's a big deal, larry. >> so the warriors obviously at first they were seemed to be pursuing kevin durant. and it looked like jimmy wanted to go
11:55 pm
to phoenix. anyway. it ended up with him here. warriors now 26 and 26 with 30 games left. can they get out of this play in possible scenario and get i the playoffs? they're three and a half games out of the sixth spot. >> yeah i mean clearly you know the western conference is stacked and it's packed right. but i think that's a good thing right. because what steph started saying is that he wants an opportunity to compete. right. nothing is guaranteed. but if the warriors play at this level, you give yourself a chance to be in that. in that discussion at the end of the season, all you can do is to play the games ahead of you and give yourself a chance to compete. and i think, you know, steph is going to enjoy that journey towards the playoffs. larry i'm not sure they can make it, but i think they will give it a heck of a try. >> well, and you also got to give joe lacob a lot of credit because he gave out over $100 million to bring jimmy. some people you know between him and steph and draymond that's 83% of the warriors payroll. unclear what they're going to do with jonathan kuminga because he wants a contract extension. but
11:56 pm
you know what jc is going to be coming back soon. so imagine adding him to the arsenal man. >> it's going to be fun right. because when we talk about what does a team and the possibility of this team, you have youth. you have age. right. and the question is could that symbiosis work. and i think most warriors fans want to see that. they want to see an opportunity for this team to be competitive, win or lose. i think that's what you want. >> well, we're going to see it on display for the rest of the regular season. chris, back to you. >> yeah what a ride it's going to be. warriors guard brandon pisemsky is going to play in friday's rising stars challenge. he replaces oklahoma city's carson walsh who's out with a shoulder injury. paz joins fellow teammates trace jackson davis and pat spencer in the annual showcase. begins 5:00 friday night at chase center. it's nba all star weekend coming to town next weekend. all right, sharks hosting the stars. let's dance san jose scored twice in the first three minutes. it's fabian zetterlund sneaking it in right there. two nothing sharks, but dallas scores three in the first, two more in the second and matt duchene second of the night on the power play.
11:57 pm
dallas scores seven unanswered. sharks lose eight three. now on a two week break. instead of the all star game, the nhl is gg to do a special four nations tournament. abc seven sports sponsored by river rock casino. zach. >> chris. thank you. hey, a reminder that you can watch all of our newscasts live and on demand through the abc seven bay area connected tv app. it's available for apple tv, google tv, amazon fire tv, and roku. so download the app now and start streaming. remember, that's also the spot. you can watch the chinese new year parade this saturday that we are going to be broadcasting a whole bunch of us here from abc seven going to be part of that, and hopefully you'll join us for that. but for tonight, that's it. i'm zach fuentes. abc seven news is going to continue tomorrow morning at five. so for spencer, chris and all of us, we thank you so much for joining us and hope you have a great rest of your weekend.
