monitoring air quality and using drones to keep an eye on that area. we'll keep tabs on it for you as well. well, now to an unusual crime in the north bay. novato police say they arrested three people who kidnaped a patient from a medical facility trying to get control of their finances. it happened saturday morning. police say the suspects abducted the patient, assaulted a nurse who tried to stop them, then took off. law enforcement caught them within 20 minutes. police believe the suspects planned to fraudulently take over the victim's conservatorship, a court ordered arrangement giving someone else control over a person's finances and care. very strange new developments tonight in the deaths of four family members in santa rosa last month. police now confirming the case is being investigated as a murder suicide. 67 year-old clive guth and his ex-wife donna were found dead inside a home on january 8th. also inside were the bodies of reina and cameron guth, their daughter and son. all four died

from gunshot wounds in the east bay. a school building caught fire tonight in oakland. this happened just before 8 p.m. on 18th street. the building is being used by california's children's services. it's right next door to ralph bunche high school. the firefighters kept the flames from spreading. no one was hurt. the cause, though, is of course, under investigation. >> not guilty. >> emotional moments in a los angeles courtroom tonight. hip hop star asap rocky diving into rihanna's arms as a jury finds him not guilty of assault. the grammy nominated rapper faced two felony charges accused of shooting at his friend during a fight. abc news reporter zohreen shah, on the dramatic end to this case. >> we, the jury in the above entitled action, find the defendant, rakim mayers, not guilty. >> tonight, a stunning scene in

rocky fired real bullets or blanks. rocky's prosecutors claim the rapper fired blanks from a prop gun that he used for a music video, which features rihanna to scare off possible attackers during the three week long trial. jurors watched from a surveillance video from three years ago. the prosecutors say, is asap rocky in a fight with relli while holding a gun and later shooting at raleigh. raleigh says the bullets grazed his knuckles. but rocky's lawyers called raleigh a perjurer and criminal, claiming he was only trying to get millions of dollars from rocky. zohreen shah, abc news, los angeles. >> all right. wet weather is back in the forecast tomorrow. we're tracking spotty showers for your morning drive. abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel is here with a look at where you're likely to see the most rain. sandy. >> yeah, dan, it's not going to be much, but the north bay has the highest likelihood. let me show you live doppler seven in just a moment. first, a beautiful view from our mount tam cam as we look at san francisco and taking a look at live doppler seven, you will

notice some moisture is showing up just off our coastline. clouds have already thickened up. we do have some rain showers off the northern california coast and some moving inland along with some snow showers. wider perspective showing you that the energy is going into the pacific northwest and northern california. here's a look at our timeline. you will briefly need those wipers at 8 a.m. in the north bay. the showers start to cross san francisco by 11 a.m. in parts of the east bay by noon, so just have the umbrellas handy. this is not going to last very long. i'll be back with a full look at the forecast, which includes some big changes for the weekend. dan. >> okay, sandy, we'll see you in just a couple of moments. we have several breakthroughs to share tonight in the effort to build a better bay area. first, a jam packed weekend in san francisco is driving a post pandemic record for bart. bart had its highest ridership day for a saturday in more than six years. the nba all-star game and chinese new year parade were big factors in attracting more than 139,000 riders in a single day.

bart says it only sees 92,000 riders on an average saturday. the previous post pandemic record for saturday was last february, the day of the 2024 chinese new year parade, by the way. well, the other breakthrough to focus on tonight is in the south bay. san jose is about to open its largest interim housing community. the complex on branham lane will have room for hundreds of people getting out of homelessness. abc seven news reporter lauren martinez explains how this project, years in the making, is paying off. >> the bay area's largest city is opening its largest interim housing site. branham lane in san jose will be home to more than 200 adults in need. marissa carino, a case manager, experienced homelessness herself. ten years ago. >> i needed somebody to believe in me when i couldn't believe in myself. and lifemoves gave me that. it gave me hope. >> life moves and the city of san jose are behind this project. it's meant to help people out of homelessness, including creating housing for

multigenerational families. >> they're just as much as they've been able to experience such a horrific, horrific thing. they also get to experience such a beautiful thing where they get to grow and make something of themselves in such a safe and beautiful environment. >> this interim housing community will have resources on site, including a clinic, case managers, a serenity room, a pet park and more. >> there are no time limits to how long somebody can stay here. we want to work with folks for as long as they need, and that they're working to partner with us. >> anat leonard oversees day to day operations at 26 lifemoves sites that stretch from daly city to san jose. to qualify to live here, adults must make 15% of the area median income, which is roughly $19,000. a quarter of the residents have been chronically homeless. leonard said it's about building relationships and reducing isolation. >> and so, recognizing the length of time someone has

experienced homelessness, what other traumatic experiences they might have had growing up or as adults. all of that impacts someone's ability to kind of settle and breathe and feel safe. >> there's a closet on site, so for clients in need of shoes or business casual shirts, they have access to this at any time. move in. day for life moves. brannan lane is wednesday morning in san jose. lauren martinez, abc seven news. >> there is a lengthy debate tonight going on in napa over a plan for glamping. the proposal would turn the area shaded in orange there, near the silverado trail and hagen road, into a huge resort for dozens of high end camping trailers and tents. supporters say the timing is right. it is well thought out and would provide an economic boost. however, opponents believe there are a number of safety concerns, including traffic. >> this project is designed to fit the land, not the other way around. that we've waited a long

of government efficiency doge from accessing government data systems or laying off workers. 14 democratic states, including california, had filed a lawsuit challenging elon musk and doge's power. doge is tapping computer systems from multiple federal agencies searching for waste. the judge says there are legitimate questions about musk's authority, but there isn't enough evidence. doge's actions are harming the states that sued. new developments tonight after a bengal was burgled, along with several other pro athletes. federal prosecutors have charged seven men who they say are from a south american theft ring. one of the suspects is linked to a burglary at bengals quarterback joe burrows home. the others are accused of taking part in the break ins at the homes of patrick mahomes, travis kelce, along with other nfl and nba players too. prosecutors say the heists netted more than $2 million in stolen stuff. a bay

area lawmaker is taking another stab at banning children from buying anti-aging skincare. it comes as social media trends are leading young children to buy skin products made for adults. south bay assembly member alex lee is introducing a bill, therefore, to ban all children under the age of 18 from buying anti-aging products, suggesting that stores ask young people for ids at the register. lee introduced a similar policy last year, setting the age at 13, but that failed. dermatologists say young kids using products meant for adults can end up with serious skin problems. >> you know, simplifying a regimen is really, really important. and if you don't do that, the irritation can be something that can last months and months. >> in a statement responding to last year's bill, the personal care products council, whose members include sephora and ulta, say in part, quote, safeguarding pre-teens from the pressures of social media and the inappropriate use of cosmetics is extremely important

to our member companies. this bill would not provide such safeguards. end of statement. a controversial plan that could raise gas prices to fight climate change is now on hold. a state office is rejecting the new fuel standards approved late last year. the plan requires the gas that we get to put less pollution into the air. cleaner fuel is likely to cost more at the pump. state regulators originally estimated the rule change could raise prices by as much as $0.47 a gallon, though they later walked that back a bit. the state's office of administrative law says the policy was not clear enough for the public. happening tomorrow. p-g-and-e's is announcing a new plan to bury power lines underground in south san jose. p-g-and-e's will be moving a little more than a mile of power lines near albany expressway and camden avenue. the utility says settings to prevent its equipment from sparking wildfires are causing extra power outages in the area.

burying those lines will remove the wildfire risk and keep the lights on. farmers and beekeepers are buzzing about a growing problem. talking about stolen beehives. the pilfered pollinators are critical to california's almond harvest, and thieves are. thefts are reaching record highs. now, the state beekeepers association says hives are being stolen every day. it's getting so expensive and so extreme. in fact, beekeepers are now partnering with private detectives to investigate these hive thefts. california farmers rent millions of beehives this time of year, when almond pollination season is at its very peak. who knew? right. beehive theft. who knew everything these days? >> it's crazy. dan. >> hey. nice weather coming. but we do have some rain. >> yes, we do. and it's just going to be a little bit of spotty rain tomorrow, and then it's gone. all right, dan, good evening to all of you. let me show you what you can expect later on in the week. did you
