6:07 am
>> that does put a perspective. i mean, look, count me in. i saw wicked twice and saw nora zero times. >> so i. >> mean, following the trend, i guess. >> yeah. and i watched most of the movies that were nominated for best picture, but nora was not one of them. i started it, didn't finish it, and now it's like, i need to see this because i want to see what all the hype is about. >> i'm looking forward to it. >> everyone says it's great, so let's do it. of course, also on the red carpet, bay area representation. >> yeah, we have abc seven mornings anchor amanda delcastillo live across the street from at the dolby theater. with more on the love for the bay area at last night's show. and amanda, i loved how you were calling out, you know, trying to get the celebrities and you were saying, bay area, bay area, i love that. >> anything i could do to grab their attention, i did, even if it was pickleball for mario lopez, because we know he was in san francisco doing that not too long ago. but let me tell you where i am. i am inside the dolby theater. kelly and mark's after the oscars show just got started. you're hearing a lot of cheers. well, i don't know if you are, but i can hear a lot of
6:08 am
cheers. they closed the doors. we know that that is well underway, and we will be seeing that broadcast at 9 a.m. our time. but for now, you got to think east coast time. obviously that makes sense. we know that lil jon and steve aoki were also part of sound check, so they will be in there getting everyone pumped, getting getting everyone excited and entertained. but let me tell you about last night and my experience here at the oscars. it has been magical, really. the magic, the madness, the glitz and glam, the grandiose of hollywood, of course. the 97th academy awards, people from oscars prep to the red carpet and the show itself, it was a jam packed few days, and with the after the oscars show going on right now, still much more celebrating to do. but let me put you back on that red carpet. unsurprisingly, there was so much love for the bay area. >> area, bay area, bay area. i'm in trouble. go. go fast. what do you want to know? i love the bay area bringing you. joan loves the bay area. how has it? i'm so proud to be from there and i'm

going to go there as soon as possible after all of this. >> i love the bay area. i mean, i'm a college kid, but the bay area is a lot of fun. i look forward to going back. i have a lot of friends up there, so i'm gonna be up there with my son later on. shout out to oakland. the golden state warriors are on a heater right now. you know oakland's oakland's winning again. and you know i just want to say that i'm really proud to be from all the places that i come from, from canim lake, which is the rest of my family resides on, and especially from oakland. >> and among all the bay area shout outs. i couldn't let this one go without mention. >> you just asked, do we watch abc seven. >> every morning? >> or how troc. >> okay, that was pixar's kelsey mann. he's the director behind inside out two, and i had mentioned that reggie always talks about how kelsey mann is a big avid fan of abc seven news. obviously, the morning show, as
6:10 am
he mentioned. and to hear him say that on the other side, when i'm trying to interview him about all the work that he's done and to even, you know, give us a nod and talk about how much he enjoyed our show really is touching. i was like, okay, i'm going to take it. that's my oscar. i'd like to thank the academy because we're putting in the work and it's being recognized too. so, hey, i'm taking it. it's a win for us. >> it was. >> it was. so it was thrilling for me to see kelsey in some of the footage from the national red carpet show. like i saw him walking past and i thought, oh, i know that guy. >> that's amazing. amazing. >> yeah. they got robbed last night for inside out, too. >> that's just my opinion. >> but look, the honor is people seeing your film and the world saw inside out to and really embraced it and its message about anxiety. so i was happy about that. i have a question for you. so, amanda, this is your first trip to hollywood for the oscars. what is your biggest takeaway? what is your biggest thing that surprised you as a takeaway?
6:11 am
>> my okay, the biggest takeaway for me is that i would say things are so incredibly fluid because the celebrities they're going to do what they're going to do, they're going to show up. if they want to show up, they're going to attend things that they want to attend, and you kind of just got to go with it. and you are at their mercy, because obviously you're trying to get all the content that you can. you're trying to soak up the experience, and it really is in the hands of the celebrities. and i think that it kind of loosened me up because i am a, you know, a chronic planner. so i was trying to plan out every single day segment, every single hour. and the experience just taught me celebrities. they they run the world because this was all about them fashion, film and just how they're so creative and how they've captured the world with all of their work. and i think that this just gave me a bigger appreciation for a lot of the people who are behind the scenes in front of the camera,
6:12 am
all of that. it was just a great experience. and, you know, everyone was talking about reggie, people that i ran into behind the scenes, too. oh, you work with reggie. you're reggie's co-anchor. so, reggie, they want you out here. kelsey mann also called you out and said, you need to be out here. maybe we'll do a double team next year. >> hey, that'd be fun. you know what, amanda? yes. >> that could be. that could be the one. all right, let's talk. your people can talk to my people. and when we say that, i mean just just text me. >> i would love to see that. >> yes. >> thank you. amanda, that was a lot. >> of fun. >> yeah. you did a great job, man. and i can't wait to hear maybe the next half hour about your favorite celebrity you talk to. i want to hear about that. i know we're out of time right now, but there's so many stories that we could probably talk all day. >> more amanda, as our morning continues here, of course she's going to go inside the theater and get a peek at what's happening on kelly and mark this morning, because they have a lot of celebs, too, and special moments. so that is going to be
6:13 am
happening later at 630. and then gma has live coverage at 7 a.m. of course, you can see the full kelly and mark after the oscars special starting at 9 a.m. all here on abc seven. >> 612 this morning we're taking a look at live doppler seven along with satellite. we're seeing low pressure pushing off to the east this low spinning over nevada into utah this morning brought us the early morning rain showers yesterday. that's out of here today. we have a lot of sunshine, but now we find our next front moving into us, getting closer to us by this evening. so tomorrow we turn overcast with some drizzle and then wednesday evening we have some light rain in the forecast as that front moves through. but today no rain in the forecast. in fact, we'll take a live look at our richmond san rafael bridge camera. this is the richmond side. you can see we have clear skies out there. mostly sunny throughout the day. that's the call. we'll have temperatures that are slightly below average this afternoon. we should typically be in the mid 60s by early march. we're mainly in the 50s to low 60s. so you'll find increasing clouds out there. and those daytime highs right around
6:14 am
5960 degrees for most of us. so cool for march tomorrow clouds are back drizzle too. and then we'll track some light rain in the evening on wednesday. gloria, we'll take a closer look at those wednesday showers coming up in just a few minutes. >> looking forward to that. thank you so much, drew. and still ahead taking a ride on muni for free. this special offer this week for grade school students in san francisco. and they can even take part in a muni inspired art contest. we'll tell you all about that. plus an investigation into tiktok and reddit officials in the uk accusing the social media companies of possibly

6:20 am
really hit home for people in orinda was during the director sean baker's speech. accepting for onora. he advocated for getting both fans and distributors to support movie theaters, and the experience of seeing movies on the big screen. he made history last night because he was the first person to win four oscars in one night for the same movie, and i'm really not kidding. i feel like sean might have had the same amount of time on screen as conan did in the end, because he was up there constantly. and i don't know, you know about you all, but i'd never even heard of this man until last, until this oscar season. >> so yeah, and apparently he'd been in hollywood for years. and, you know, now he's he's getting all the credit that he deserves. but it's amazing because people are comparing it to cinderella story, honora. because, you know, it didn't cost as much money as some of those big pictures, didn't get as many viewers. and now getting all these huge awards. >> yeah. all the love. go check it out. and by the way, it's going on hulu march 17th. oh it is. yeah. perfect. you can watch it in march right here on hulu.
