this is the second death. the first one was a child in texas that we talked about earlier last week. and in general, there's been about 165 cases throughout the country, ten states involved. texas really being hit the hardest with 159 cases and 22 hospitalizations. >> but we always hear them say, vaccinate the children. make sure your child is vaccinated. but what about adults? especially if you're not sure what your status is? >> exactly. a lot of adults are wondering the same thing. so if you were born before 1957, you are presumed to have had the measles and are protected. if you have lab evidence that you've had the measles. so antibodies are shown infection, you're protected. if you've got 1 or 2 doses of the measles vaccine, you should have immunity. now there's a caveat to that. if you got one dose, but that dose happened between 1963 and 1967. we were at times giving a different type of vaccine. you may need an extra shot if you work in a college setting, health care workers, international travel, or live or work with immunocompromised. but in general, there's no real recommendation for a booster shot. if you have any questions, certainly, or live in an area with an outbreak. you can talk
