membrane technology where one worker was killed and another injured. lloyd? >> reporter: membrane technology building has yet to be cleared. we are told that the hazardous material team is trying to vent a leaking methane cylinder at the top of the building. now, we have learned that the top of the cylinder has frozen over. one employee still hospitalized after an explosion killed her co-worker. it happened at 4:15 inside of a lab. two scientists, a man and woman were preparing for an experiment. officials say it had been done numerous times pathfinder, but this time, something went wrong. >> when the explosion occurred. the male victim was, obviously, most significantly impacted by that explosion. the female was essentially blown through. at this time, we we are told to

be an open doorway. >> five fellow employees ran into the lab and dragged the man into the parking lot, where he died. residential neighborhoods nearby. 23 people were evacuated from the building. there was no shelter in place. >> no one assured the community. this problem is contained to this structure. there is no-risk. actually people in other structures. >> reporter: the company has yet to issue a statement and the names of the victims have not been released. this is the first fye fire fatality of the year for this city. osha is investigating. >> >> officials with the west contra costa school district said a student was shot just outside of a high school campus near the front of north campus continuation high school after classes ended for the day.

>> she told him she went out and took the dog for a walk came back at 8:00 in the morning. walking up the stairs to her door, she did smell natural gas. >> reporter: six additional natural gas leaks were detected in other parts of the complex wednesday night. >> the number of leaks we have in this community is concerning us. a big concern we take very seriously. >> they fixed the gas leak in front of my house in april. not knowing if they did it right was a little scary. >> reporter: pg & e crews were in the neighborhood a few months ago, but new leaks have come up since then. >> what's going on? >> reporter: pg & e confirms crews were at this same complex back in may, fixing different gas leaks. the problem is that the plastic used in the gas pipes gets brittle and 6,000 feet will have to be replaced as soon as possible. >> >> a san jose police officer

accused of molesting two teen- age boys said he is not guilty. he made his plea in a san jose courtroom. it all started when he answered an ad on craigs list from someone claiming to be 18, but who was actually only 16. >> introduced boy to several of his teen-age friends. then, had the boys at his residence and provided them alcohol and that's when the alleged acts took place. >> the district attorney's office said there is evidence he knew the boys were underage and said there may be other victims as well. >> >> an update from the soututh b on the wounded duck says that were shot with blow darts. one of the ducks was rescued today. this picture is from the wildlife center in silicon valley. the dark is now gone.

. less than a week after irene, we have another tropical storm in the gulf. let's look at what we have got out there. it is tropical storm -- and you can see, let me put the track in for you. what is interesting about the storm, this is a forecast path. it's a tropical storm. what we will see is alot of rain with this. see how it moving from saturday to monday. barely moving. thursday, dropping a foot of rain in this area. you can see flooding issues in southern louisiana and northeast toward the georgia area over the next three days. for us, tomorrow morning, fog back at the coast. winds are up along the beaches, right now, partly cloudy tomorrow, mid-60s along the coast. around the bay, temperatures in the low 80 says. pretty nice day, tomorrow a lot like today, only cooler.
