shooting that eric mentioned right next to the occupy camp. police are looking for two then. the victim is an african american man in his 20s and police have not yet released his name. police say they've determined that one of the two suspects frequently stayed at that occupy camp. and we have new descriptions of the suspects. both are described as african american men in their 20s. the first suspect, 5'9" tall. the second 5'8" tall 250 pounds with long dread logs that have red tips. the rainy weather did not keep people away from the encampment. the march started in city hall and passed through the city headquarters. people say they want police to

president obama observed veteran's day with a call to u.s. business to provide jobs for the dozens of men and women coming home from iraq an afghanistan. the president flew to san diego for an unusual veteran's day event. once there he boarded an ship to watch a college basketball game. tonight on the ktvu facebook page i asked how the united states can better provide for returning veterans. rosanne mckurty suggested they never have to pay taxes again, every for the rest of their lives. her emphasis on ever. tamica jones says, provide them with a job. they fought for us the least we can do is have a job and roof over their head. u.s. stocks moved hirer

near linfield drive in vallejo around 12:30 this afternoon. amber lee just spoke to the mother of the boy who died, amber. >> reporter: julie behind me family members have gathered here at the scene of the accident. they told us the impact was so severe that the boy's skateboard broke in half. we're going to show you where it landed. the first part of it is where these orange markers are. several feet away is where the second part landed right over here. chopper two captured the accident. the garbage truck driver swerved once he saw the boys but it was too late. >> i ran as fast as i could down the street. and i went straight over to him and i held him and i talked to him, and i told him how much i loved him. >> reporter: champane tefoya's son died from his injuries.

the grandfather of talello young told us he went through surgery. >> reporter: today was no different, its was a school holiday, it's veteran's day. the boys were always together skateboarding only the conditions were different. >> rainy, slippery, they could not stop with their feet. just went too fast. >> reporter: police and neighbors say the driver of the garbage truck was so shaken he too was taken to the hospital. >> this is probably the worse thing ever i've seen in my career. >> reporter: joey's mother told us his son was a huge 49er fan and she was trying to save enough money to bring him to his first game. family and friends say they are still trying to mourn what happened and to cope with the loss of joey. a woman who was struck and killed by a car in san jose was

identified today as 67-year-old lu. lu was hit by the driver of a nissan sentra while in a crosswalk. there are no sign that is a driver, a 65-year-old san jose woman was under the influence. the incident remains under investigation. this morning a land rover plunged 300 yards. the 58-year-old driver was thrown from the vehicle. her identity has not yet been released. and there was a second car crash in the same area later today. that one though caused only minor injuries. a contra costa county hospital may be on life support if voters don't come to the rescue this weekend. john sasaki reports on the mail in ballot that calls for a new parcel tax that will save san pablo hospital. >> reporter: doctors medical center has the biggest and

busiest er in west contra costa county. >> that's what this facility is, it's tangible insurance. even though you're not billed right now you never know. >> reporter: now patients who go to the hospital may have to seek treatment elsewhere. >> reporter: the reimbursements don't cover the cost of providing provide service. west county residents are voting by mail in ballot on measure j. it's a parcel tax that will help save the hospital with a $5 million shot in the arm. >> if this hospital closes, the whole community is going to suffer big time. >> what would you do? >> i don't know. i would be lost. my father is so close and he needs the community needs these

vital services. >> what little we have now we need every bit of it because it's help save lives. >> reporter: the nearest hospital is kaiser richmond about 2 miles away, it has a smaller er that would be severely impacted. >> this hospital closing would cause wait times at the kaiser hospital to be hour, kaiser knows that that's why they've been helping the cause. >> reporter: voters have until tuesday to get the vote in. john sasaki. now an election update on two very tight races in the city of vallejo. it appears the mayor's race has been divided. current mayor ozzie davis has widened his lead over his opponent joa in nne schivley. it's a difference of just 900 votes and there's late word that schivley has called davis

to concede. measure b has a slight lead pulling ahead by 71 votes. if passed the tax measure would bring in $9.8 million a year for the cash strapped city. the san francisco examiner is getting a new owner. clarity group announce today it is selling the newspaper to a consortium. the examiner was the group's only west coast. a little bit of drizzle out there right now. the live storm tracker 2, picking up that rainfall whatsoever. what i want to point out is the ground is wet. santa rosa 51 degrees. the dewpoint temperatures in the upper 40s. when that temperature drops into the upper 40s, fog is going to form.

a new round of munni fare hikes and no more free parking may be coming to san francisco. >> reporter: it is all on the table with this one. from eliminating the free share transfers to eliminating free parking on sundays and the

nummi board plans to roll out all of these options and more on monday. two dollars can get you a ticket to ride almost any where in san francisco these days. but a future fare hike is just one of the options the tsa board will be considering. some say they will still take the bus even though nummi increases the fare. >> cheaper than having a car in san francisco. >> reporter: others say fare hikes are unfair. >> i think that being a transit for a city we should incentivize transit. >> reporter: nummi is facing a cut of $34 million, following a gap of 30 million the current year. and they're asking for a fare hike on transfers which are now free. >> i think that really sucks

because i live for sundays. i hold off on all my errand to engage in the free parking. >> reporter: some small businesses which have to compete with the free lots at shopping malls say they are concerned fees might drive customers away. >> i would prefer if it stays free. you know since the weekends are busy. >> reporter: the nummi board plans to hear the various options and listen to public comment on mono. then they expect to have some decision on how to close this budget gap by spring. reporting live in san francisco, jana katsuyama, ktvu channel 2 news. ac transit is also considering a change next week to express service over the barton bridge. the proposal would eliminate db3. the lines run between union city. lawyers for two people hit bay car during last week's general strike in oakland say their clients want the driver

of that car arrested. ktvu showed you this cell phone video the night it happened november 2nd. you can see protesters blocking a mercedes. a moment later a driver hits the gas. attorneys for the two people hit say police let the driver go without a citation and claim officers still haven't talked to witnesses. the lawyers are now asking anyone in the crowd that night to come forward. a traffic stop in oakland today gave officers more than they bargained for. police say they spotted a man driving a stolen vehicle, when officers tried to stop him he ran their patrol car. no officers were hurt. the driver then took off on foot. a court ruling has critics and supporters of high speed rail on the peninsula both claiming victory tonight. a judge rejected the latest environmental impact report and requested more analysis from the planned route from gilroy

vigil outside of the administration building tonight. earlier the new president of penn state say they are well aware victims of child abuse may be afraid to come forward. >> i want to say here very publicly that we would encourage anyone who has been abused in the context of this particular situation to not be afraid. >> reporter: the organizer of tonight's vigil said she wanted it to be in direct contrast to what happened there wednesday night. that's where some students protests and violence broke out following word that joe paterno had been fired. and mccreary is now on paid administrative leave and in a secluded location. president obama tonight called the sex abuse scandal heartbreaking. he said it's a good time for the entire country to do some soul searching not just penn state. the president said, although

a new investigation is just about to begin into last year's deadly san bruno explosion. the commission voted this week

to investigate whether pg & e violated regulations. the process could result in up to $20,000 a day for violations. in wood side pg & e crews are getting ready to retest a portion of pipeline along interstate 280 that burst last sunday during safety testing. this week crews replaced the line. it's part of the same line that exploded in san bruno. crews will test that same section, and if it passes they will put a coating on it. in mexico, a helicopter exploded killing six people. blake mora was the interior secretary. mexico's president said the crash was probably due to bad weather. it was very foggy at the time. the helicopter crashed in the

outskirts of mexico city. crews recovered the body of a journalist. he was one of at least 25 people killed in wednesday's 5.7 aftershock of a 7.2 quake last month. the search is not stopping but hope is fading for finding survivors. the two quakes have left more than 600 people dead. in poland, independence day turned violence in warzog today. riots broke out. there were right wing extremists, hooligans attacking officers. the nation's biggest banks are supposed to go through another round of stress tests. the federal reserve says it is going to conduct a test in the next few weeks to determine the stability of u.s. banks and whether they can withstand a recession. the feds performed these same

that rain system moved south right into southern california, san diego. we start to dry up, we start to clear up. here's what the computer model does. here we are tomorrow morning in the next few hours and the model is suggesting some showers out in the livermore valley. in the mountain that is will taper off as well as we go through the afternoon the clouds move on. all the clouds are following that low. as the low goes, the clouds will follow through. for the most part plenty of sunshine. mild temperatures saturday and sunday. so not a bad weekend in store. earlier this week looks like we'll have a wet weekend. here's the low and again you're just going to see it as it drives south. takes the moisture, and the clouds with it. tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. plenty of clouds. maybe an a.m. shower but that's a long shot. partly cloudy as we head into the afternoon or partly sunny. tomorrow breaks out mostly
