suspect was found. alex. >> reporter: no, not found, police were searching for a person involved in the shooting and they came up empty in that search, it is up the street in a house on olive. new ward police and the union city police department were involved here. also, there was a major crime tasks force from the department of justice involved as well. officers searched the house but they didn't find the people they went in looking for. this stemmed from a shooting around 11:00, a man was shot twice on a street but he survived those injuries. investigators had evidence that led them to a house nearby. we talked to some neighbors forced out of their homes tonight by the swat operation. >> it was a surprise because i never see like this kind of thing. two or three police cars. it is my first time. i have lived here for a while and never seen this kind of

violence. >> reporter: the commander from the newark police department says that the shooting is gang related despite the police presence in the swat operation on this street no arrests have been made but people that live here are back in their home at this hour. live in newark, alex saf vick. a water main break is calling concern in one san pablo neighborhood as there are concerns of a fuel line break. the incident started around 9:30, when crews found the 60- inch water main along with an 8- inch water line broken at fordam street. the trouble is that a kinder morgan fuel line runs through that area and there are concerns that flooding could damage that line. he says right now kinder morgan

authorities arrested the 17- year-old concord boy yesterday and say he was taken to juvenile hall. 24 geese were found shot to death in willow pass park. a 5000-dollar reward was being offered. >> a registered sex offender accused of kidnapping and raping a woman in oakley is in jail, 45-year-old steven clark was arrest around midnight in san francisco's hill neighborhood. the sheriff's department said clark befriended a woman at a bar last saturday and kidnapped her and assaulted her. he had been previously convicted of rape in texas and officials say he was spotted in san diego earlier this week but he got away. a san jose woman faces felony charges for a string of jewelry thefts involving grade

school students. sonya va last quez went to six campuses between october and november to find her young victims. she claimed to be a friend and asked to see their gold necklaces and replaced them with costume necklaces. police believe she sold the necklaces to jewelry stores. dozens of people are out of their apartments after a fast moving fire. >> reporter: it took just minutes for a small fire to spread through this 18 unit apartment complex on sure point court. >> we had two floors involved in the fire and six units that were occupied and six families that are now displaced and we are trying to get a count on that right now. >> reporter: an estimated 60 firefighters fought the blaze that started before 11:00 this morning on the 2nd floor. >> as we were running by the actual apartment in flames, a guy had a fire extinguisher and

he was backing out. >> reporter: this gentleman lives across the hall from the apartment where the fire started. he says neighbors banging on the doors alerted him to the blaze. >> i opened up the door and there was smoke coming at me and i was like whoa and i grabbed my shorts. >> reporter: and the firefighters had to chase the blaze through ducts in the wall and cut a hole through the roof which became unstable that they were forced to retrieve. >> a fire will double in size every minute and the fire spread relatively quickly. >> the fire department is still investigating the cause of the blaze but a resident says the neighbor's baseboard heater caught on fire and no one was injured but the fate of several pets is still unknown. >> we have one cat inside but he is at the far end and we are hoping he is okay. >> reporter: dozens working with the red cross to find places to stay in the short- term and it is unclear if or when they will be allowed to return to these apartments.
