heard people fighting. he says a young man was on top an elderly man punching him with his fist and trying to get his car keys. >> he wanted the car. he said you have to see the i.d. on the back. then the guy didn't say anything. >> reporter: wynn says the man jump into the victim's gmc suv. police took off after him. after it was over, several police were injured. he had to be cut out of the vehicle. he is still in the hospital after his injuries. >> one minute he's looking for the suspect. the next minute he's pinned in his vehicle and he's on the radio calling for help. >> reporter: it ended on mccreary avenue where police

maneuvered to track the suspect and they shocked him. >> through the passenger side, i saw the taser go off and that was the end of it. >> reporter: the suspect is alejandro gonzalez from san jose. he's facing a lot more jail time now. live in san jose, lloyd lacuesta, ktvu channel 2 news. more details now after tasing that suspect. officers put him into a restraint that's called a wrap which is sort of like a straight jacket. here you can see the device being demonstrated on mike mibach. that wrap is marketed by a company from martinez. tonight we spoke to the san jose police chief about the chase. he says he's grateful no civilians were hurt. >> some real heroism from the

looking at live storm tracker 2. there's some clouds out there right now. those clouds are kind of lingering. overnight lows tonight are going to be on the mild side. why was the sierra nevada so dry? because we're dry. i'll tell you what 31% in santa rosa of average today. 26 in san francisco, and 30% in san jose. here's the deal. last year at this time we were about 150, 160% of average. when we're above average, so is the sierra nevada. when we're above average, they go right through here. that's why they had such a bad count on the water content up in the echo summit area. the high pressure is living over the top of us. the long range model, there's not much going on out there. so we're expecting more of the same. more fog in the morning hours. temperatures in the mid-30s. clouds streaming north. this morning's fog pattern was a pain if you're trying to fly to sfo you know what i'm talking about. big delay there is. the ferry boats on the bay had

see the next couple of weeks. there's big storms out there. they just can't get up over the high pressure system that's sitting right offshore. normally that storm that generated those wave that is we showed today at mavericks, that storm would have blown through here and dropped 3-inches of rain. it can't get through that pacific high. a number of storms cannot get here. what we're seeing from those storms are the swell or large waves. we'll see them friday and again monday and tuesday. >> they are pretty big too. >> yeah, the swells were big today. an update to a story we brought you last night. crews finished repairs early today. the 6-inch main burst sortly before 5: 5:00 on fulton street. crews completeed the repairs early this morning then came back to finish work on the space. there's no word yet what caused the leak. president obama today signed legislation which made its way through congress

never in my lifetime did i think i could walk 60 miles in 3 days. if my mom can fight and beat breast cancer, i can walk 60 miles.
