hello, everybody. i'm beth troutman. let's watch some great videos "right this minute." >> it's an avalanche video with a twist as a snowboarder is about to be buried until. >> see that orange thing there? >> what is that. >> something called the float. >> why you want this thing around when the mountain is coming down. >> i think it's one of i think confirmed saves that we have now. >> no small undertaking to save big game. and load these animals on to crates with forklifts. >> behind the scenes for a mission of mercy in mississippi. >> they wore hoodie, the

official robbery uniforms, but they make rookie mistakes when they go to knock off a burrito joint. >> immediately goes for the camera and in doing so, clearly shows his face on the screen. >> and we haven't seen a feeding frenzy like this since "hometown buffet. ." we're going to get this edition of "right this minute" started with a survival story steven has down in our newsroom. >> want to show you this video of prosnowboarder meesh. you see her going down the mountain. swatch what happens to her neck. >> oh, no! >> she gets totally swallowed up by an avalanche. >> what's that is so big? >> you see that orange thing there? >> what is that? >> something called the float. it's like an inflatable almost

parachute-like thing that brings a snowboarder or skier up to the surface. this what is saved meesh from this avalanche. >> like an air bag or beau which or something. >> developed by back country access. they make safety equipment for extreme sports like this. these things have been around for a while, but i've never seen video of them actually in use thp this is amazing. was this a demonstration for the product or did this really happen? >> great question. not a demonstration. unloaded on back country access youtube channel but his was shot by somebody randomly shooting mesh out on the mountain. we have lots of questions. joining us is davory. he works for back country access. dave, how does this thing work? >> the user that has the pack on has a rip cord in the shoulder they can yank on it in the case of an avalanche which essentially increases their surface area to sort of bring them to the surface of the avalanche wap. >> dave, some might say watching
3:03 pm
this video this looks like an advertisement for your product. it 100% is not right? >> not at all. they were conducting a sort of back country competition out near montazuma. they had no connection at all. >> could the float save a snowboarder or skier in an avalanche much larger than the one we're seeing in this video? >> it has the potential to. there's no guarantees behind it. we actually, we have another video with a helmet cam footage of a skier up near valdez, alaska, and they go tumbling head over heels but is able to pull the rip cord on the air bag and comes to the surface as well. i think it's one of i think confirmed saves that we have now with people using the product and staying on top of an avalanche. when animals are in need the humane society comes to their

rescue. this is in collins, mississippi, and we're specifically not only you see the humane society but mississippi wildlife officials and the folks from carolina tiger rescue. and they all came together after an undercover investigators went inside this zoo for several months and documented what was going on. >> [ inaudible ]. >> they said the conditions were incredibly poor, that the animals were in flimsy cages, the animals were malnourished and this unaccredited zoo own by gustav and betty white, not the comedian. >> the animals in flimsy cages, that's risky being in there getting that undercover video if that was the case. >> they had to tranquilize the animals. the guy is -- they're tranquilizing them with dart guns to get in to these cages and load these animals on to crates, basically, with fork lifts so they can get them out of the zoo. watch this o tir, watch w

the streets of downtown amarillo, texas, erupted in gunfire about a year ago. in this video released by amarillo.com you see the police run down the street. it's a little grainy, hazy, but what you're about to see is a rain of about 40 bullets coming from police officers into the suv driven by claudio. he was 24 years old. see his black suv back out from the left side, then you see the suv lunch towards police. that's when the gunfire breaks out. >> oh, my god, dude. oh, my god. >> wow. that's not just like one or two shots. that's gunfire. >> he is shot several times in the head. he is ladder pronounced dead. there were two other people in that suv. one was shot in the arm. witnesses and police say that at least two other suspects were shooting at the car. that's why he was running. witnesses also describe gunshots
3:07 pm
coming from the suv as well. police also say the same thing. so, there's mayhem going on in the middle of the streets of amarillo. the reason why this video is coming out now, his is the family has filed a civil rights lawsuit alleges wrongful death saying police used excessive force and did not deserve to die in this manner. >> the police are trying to figure out what is going on and the suv is coming at them. >> the police threatened by that vehicle. he was unarmed. police did feel threatened by the vehicle coming at them. that's what caused them to open fire. >> oh, my god, dude. this is in strayhan, tasmania, where the water club decided to break their own record. a world record where 114 people got on water skis at the same time. they beat it. this time they started with 154
3:08 pm
water skiers. nine fell down. they had 145. still means they broke the record. >> geez. that's wild. never seen anything like that. >> being towed by that one giant boat? >> they're being pulled by a 114-foot catamaran, a dive catamaran, and they had a special boom put on it so that their ropes wouldn't get knotted up together. they have five miles of rope for all of them to use too. >> it would be embarrassing if you were one of the nine guys that fell over. 145 other dudes did it and you guys fell. i couldn't do it, but -- >> you can see them from the front what's going on. that is quite a boom that they had to make especially for this world record attempt. >> i have to say it's got to be more difficult for the people in the middle. you have to deal with all the waves and choppy water if you're on the two ends, it's like smooth skiing. >> all right. you're saying right behind the boat you're riding through the
3:09 pm
wake of the boat. >> yeah. >> they're water skiers. used to that. >> you put the more seasoned ones in the middle, right? >> congratulations, australia for the world record. this is the beast and this is the beast tracker. >> how in the world do you become a beast tracker? >> see the answer and the tv show it created. >> and it is the crop circles cousin, the snow circle. >> from a high vantage point almost looks like needle point or stitching or embroidery. >> before the art melts see how it's made.
