in flames. eric rasmussen is live in vallejo. he was in castlemont drive. >> reporter: police are adamant that they did not start this fire. they thought they had as many as six robbers suspects surrounded but by the time the house went up in flames those people were gone. investigators don't know how it all started. >> reporter: when police heard gunshots, police hurried to push onlookers down and take cover. our cameras were burning as thick smoke billowed out of the house. we now know that the men

who disappeared in 1998. michaela was 9 years old when she disappeared. today michaela's mother says she has her doubts about the connection. >> i don't think that sh era mantine has ever claimed to have direct knowledge about michaela. only that herzog looks like our composite which he does. now to a drug bust that led police to marijuana and several types of guns. we obtained video of the raid from a neighbor. metro unit surrounded a home there early this morning and ordered everyone to leave the building. police then arrested man as he walked out. authorities say the amount of marijuana they found could sell for as much as $40,000 on the streets. >> these are the guns that do

else. >> reporter: the addicts are not typical addicts. in fact, they told us a college student that came and stocked up to take back to sell at school. there is no shortage of medications some who come from doctors who should know better. >> reporter: this doctor prescribed this guy 180 of them which is a lot. >> reporter: that drug suspect talked with us in his holding cell. >> so why did you sell it? >> i don't know, it's stupid. >> reporter: officers counted all of it and found out of the 270 pills he was prescribed in the previous two weeks, 65 were already gone. >> i got a lot of medication. but they are mine. i don't take them down and sell them like that. >> what do you normally do? >> no, no. >> reporter: you've never done it before. >> yeah i've done it before but like over two years ago. >> reporter: he's on probation for the same crime. >> it takes making an arrest and doing these busts like this to clean up the street. we're going to do it. we're not going to give up. >> reporter: reassuring words

san francisco firefighters were called on early today to rescue a woman after she drove her lexus right on to ocean beach and right into the surf. the woman was taken to the hospital for observation. tire tracks indicate the car was driven down the ramp, right across the sand and right into the water. crews decided to wait for low tide and they were finally able to pull the car out of the water earlier this evening. a police officer is on

leave after an apparent ambush. the officer who's name was not released was driving near the pea street under pass when he came across a large chunk of concrete there on the road. the officer got out of his patrol car to clear the road and that's when several attackers made their move. >> within moments of being out of the car several rocks and large blocks of cement were being poured down on him. they were being thrown on him. >> reporter: the officer was taken to the hospital, treated and released. police are now offering a $2,000 reward for information in this case. the bay area mother could face child endangerment charges after police say she left her 11 -week-old twins in the car to go shopping. the woman is identified as 46- year-old amanda nejat. another shopper found the woman's two babies alone in the car inside a parking lot. security footage shows nejat had been in the mall for 40
