and a bathing beauty's crazy stunt. >> nick's best day at work. >> see the wipeout. >> and her bottoms are down. we begin today's rtm top ten countdown with our number ten video. look at this. we got this from wls in chicago. this is footage from lake michigan. a guy named peter kovatz and his friend went sailing on wednesday afternoon, even though there was a small boat advisory in effect. there were some high winds. their sailboat, as you can see from this video flipped. the chicago police marine unit responded to this vote, and when they arrived on-scene, the guys who were so cold because the water was so frigid, they couldn't move their hands, so they had to deploy a diver into the water to assist these two men so they could get them in on the boat. both men were taken to the hospital. one of the men was treated for hypothermia. but they are both expected to be

fine. >> did they get in trouble for doing that, since there was a small boat advisory and they had to be rescued because i know there are dumb driver laws when you drive into a flood area. >> excellent question. this matter is under investigation. but officials say they believe that alcohol was involved in this situation. but there's a twist to this story. peter kovatz, the man who invited his friend out sailing was on this same lake, lake michigan, last may. and his boat flipped. >> oh. you know what -- peter needs to find another hobby, i think. maybe, like, bowling. >> i think his wife is thinking the same thing. his wife was the one who rescued him back in may, and she spoke to wls about it. >> thought last year was a fluke, and just didn't -- stronger than he was. hopefully we're putting this behind us. >> i think his wife mary is hoping peter stops sailing. next up on the rtm top ten countdown, from water to fire at number nine.

>> you guys have to see this video of a house fire from benton harbor, michigan. this was shot by mark pairin, and just look at these flames. the top story looks like it's melting. >> looks like it's just erupting smoke and fire. >> fortunately, this home was abandoned. nobody was inside. but as the firefighters continue to hit this thing with the hose, it looks like, okay, they're starting to get it under control, seeing a lot of smoke, that's a good thing, the fire is going out. you can see, they hit the top floor and then they're hitting the ground floor. watch what happens next. >> oh! wow. it just crumbled. >> yeah. nothing left to hold the thing together. just a couple walls. the whole interior burned out. >> it basically just collapsed, disintegrates and now looks like one big bonfire.

>> i'm glad none of the firefighters went inside the house, like they do sometimes. i'm sure they probably realize there was no need for it. >> right. >> but i'm glad they weren't close enough to get hurt by this. >> it's like what happens in your fireplace, you know, the fire is going for a long time and it just starts to settle. and then all the logs just crush in on each other. >> same thing. >> in just a matter of seconds, this house is just left in rubble. all right. it's time for a little security camera action at number eight. who does this? >> i don't have a green thumb, guys, but steal my neighbor's, i would not. which is exactly what this guy did in savannah, georgia. he walked right through his white pickett fence, up his steps on to his porch, looked around, and decided he wanted those urns. >> come on.

>> he takes them and very casually walks away. >> what disturbed me, he felt comfortable. you know, he was not running. he is just, you know, coming straight in as if living here and taking my stuff. >> but then look at how he hangs them on his shoulder like they were a coat. >> what? i'm going to go to home depot, buy some for myself, i'm just going to take these. >> it's not about the plants themselves, it's about the principle of people trespassing on your property. >> why would you do this in savannah, georgia? you can go in the woods and dig up a fern, for free. >> authorities are still looking for this guy. they don't know who he is. but they're hoping that people that see this surveillance video will recognize him and call the cops. >> or maybe people could just drive around the neighborhood and see who has these ferns hanging up in front of their house. he's dumb enough to steal these, probably dumb enough to hang them in front of his house. >> last year the same surveillance camera also caught

sports showing drag racer matt kagan in a qualifying round in charlotte, north carolina. his engine exploded going 260 miles per hour. >> and he got out of it and walked away. >> yeah, not only did he get out of it and walk away, but he's like mad. this drag racer, matt hagan, is joining us at "right this minute" to tell us how this happened. matt, i know there is a back story here. tell us why you were so mad after this accident. >> well, you know, we won the world championship last year, and this year we have been struggling a little bit and that topped it off the way my season has been going. one of those times where that was all i could handle at the time. >> how is it you didn't get hurt by the fire? >> we basically have a five-layer fire suit on. everything is pretty much covered except for two holes ket out for our eyes. and a lot of stuff is taking place as far as safety goes to make sure that we can crawl away from one of those wrecks like that.

>> i understand, matt, this isn't the first time that this exact same thing has happened to you and it was pretty recently, right? >> yeah, you know, it's kind of weird. we have had a similar experience on the same racetrack in the same lane at the same race. and it just is incredible for me to be so unlucky for it to happen again. you know, and the first time walking away from it and thinking that you get out and kiss the ground. and this time i'm mad, i'm over it. one minute i'm driving along, the motor sounds great, and the spring broke and then i'm driving a convertible. >> what's next for you? how do you pick up the pieces and ride again? >> oh, i'll tell you, we actually made a lap within 45 minutes of that one. and we put the car back together, and we were running again in 45 minutes. >> in that same car? >> same car, different body. obviously, different motor. but the guys -- we got ten guys on the car, and our goal is to fire up within 55 minutes and drag it back up there and make another lap. and that's sure what we did. that's it for the rtm
