>> reporter: they are only accusations. he has not been detained as detectives work this case. 25-year-old pablo sandoval took the field for the san josi giants tonight, playing minor league ball as he heals from surgery for a fractured hand. off-the-field? >> investigators are going to treat like this every other case we have at the sheriff's department. >> reporter: they confirm they are investigating a complaint from a woman who says she was assaulted by sandoval at seascape beach resort after meeting him in a bar in santa cruz. it was consensual sex according to his lawyers, but she says she was too intoxicated to consent. >> he has cooperated and we were able to interview him and the investigation is ongoing

winds would blow the flames out of control. the brisbain city engineer and pge tell ktvu that a down power line may have sparked those flames at the height of the outage more than 1300 customers lost fire. calfire says a fire threatened homes today. the blue fire burned 42 acres before it was contained go hours ago. a somber ceremony was held in san francisco to remember two firefighters caught in a deadly house fire a year-ago. ktvu's christien kafton shows us how the firefighters were remembered. >> reporter: firefighters rang the bell and at 10:58, the same time the tragedy struck a year ago, a moment of silence. commemorating

fired on a van late last night on hyde street. he escaped without any injuries. early this morning a gunman fire more than 25 rounds. no one was hurt. police have not made any arrests. in the south bay a new ten- mile search for missing teen syria lamar. noelle walker talked with volunteers, some who searched today for the first time. >> trying to figure out how close we are to the point to start the route. >> reporter: it's the 24th volunteer search. teams found out looking for sierra lamar. >> i still have a lot of hope she will be found alive. >> reporter: these hills were lush green when sierra was first reported missing. months later, search volunteers are combing through dry brush, battling heat, steep terrain and the threat of rattlesnakes to help bring sierra home. here in this idyllic

begin wednesday morning. morgan hill, noelle walker, ktvu channel 2 news. the man arrested and charged with murder in sierra lamar disappearance garcia-torres spoke briefly to the judge, agreeing to waive his right to a speedy trial. two people are dead and another seriously injured after a two-car cash in contra costa county. the accident happened on marsh creek road. highway patrol says one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died later at the hospital. a third person was hospitalized with serious injuries, but is expected to survive. a passenger suffered a severed arm after a suspected dui crash near the oakland airport. people say the injure man's brother was driving the car and speed ing down doolittle this morning.

it hit several large containers of jet fuel. police arrested him on suspicious of dui. a bizarre incident unfolded at airport in which a man went through the terminal completely naked. police say the 25-year-old suspect was first spotted at about 6:30 this morning. in one of the airport parking garages and then led police on a foot chase. from that garage in terminal b of the airport. officers managed to arrest the suspect right outside a passenger security checkpoint. police say the man resisted arrest and then one officer suffer minor injuries during the arrest. tomorrow makes the last date for united airlines operating at oakland airport. the airlines is ending service after 75 years at oakland. it had one route flighting 11 times a week flying from oakland to denver. united operates a major hub in

sfo. passengers flying out of sfo are facing majors. a duty manager tells ktvu that that prompted airlines to cancel at least 36 flights. the delays are expected to last through tomorrow. thousands of protesters are filling the streets of cairo after a judge spared egypt's long time president the death penalty. many though are angry that 84- year-old hosni mubarak will spend life in prison rather than be executed in the deaths of hundreds of anti-government protesters. adding to the crowd's outrage, the court acquitted his sons and top officials of corruption charges. coming up later we'll have a report from egypt with the dramatic reaction in the courtroom. kofi annan the un envoy said the war in syria grows by

according to the chinese state news, 76 suspects were arrested. the ring is accused of buying babies for about $1500 a piece and selling them within china for up to $7800. the neighborhood watchman charged in the fatal shooting of a of a florida teen has less than 24 hours to surrender. the judge has given george zimmerman until sunday afternoon to turn himself in. he says zimmerman and his wife lied about how much money they had back in a bond hearing in april and revoked his bail. zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old trayvon martin in february. as london gears up for the summer olympics, the british are already celebrating the queen's diamond jubilee. troops at while the hall played tribute to queen elizabeth with a 41-gun salute.
